A Treaty To End The War

 

President Henry de Guise welcomes an international audience into the Palace of Versaille as his image is broadcasted to over a billion people worldwide. His face is stern and his message simple yet firm. Peace would be made and it would be made now. His speech began:

 

"For too long have each our peoples fought for nothing but sand and religion, 

For too long have we clawed at one anothers throats in the name of one prophet or another, 

and for too long have we chosen to discard logic and basic reasoning in the name of ones personal gain.

 

It is with this in mind that I demand that we have peace in our time. This war shall not end with the current Caliph at the helm of an extremist empire. No. The area must be partitioned in a way that will ensure stability and firm leadership for decades to come. It is with this in mind that I propose the following."

 

A map of the Middle East, North Africa, and China appear on the screen and replace the President's face. His voice still carriers through as he described the image they are seeing in detail.  

 

 

"The blue which you see along the North African coast will be the new borders of the French Sixth Republic. The French government will also maintain control of the Suez Canal and the territory surrounding it for 20 miles on either side to ensure it stays open and no illegal goods can cross over the land border between Asia and Africa. The French government will promote religious tolerance and encourage a return to modern values of civil service and respect for one's neighbor.

 

The large red area on your screen now is the Kosef Caliphate, lead by Egypt's current President Kosef. President Kosef is a forward thinking man with the best interests of all Muslims of all sects in mind. He will insure stability and prosperity within his Caliphate while promising to not infringe on the independence of other states established in this peace. 

 

The light blue state is the Republic of Kurdistan. The Kurds are a unique, distinct people that should have been given a sovereign state many decades ago however leadership failed to recognize their territorial and ancestral rights to the region. They have also fought bravely as insurgent fighters to support a growing moderate position of tolerance and secularism in the Middle East. 

 

The gold region of the old Soviet Republics will each remain sovereign and independent states.

 

The Republic of India will annex all Orange territory on the map and have the responsibility of governing these provinces. This will ensure that a moderate, non-Radical will maintain control of a third of the Middle East and prevent any massive Caliphate from expanding past the Eastern Iranian border. 

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran will control all territories outlined in green. Their nuclear arsenal will be depleted and their government replaced with a more moderate system of government based on rational thinking and free elections."

 

The President finishes his outline of the redrawing of Middle Eastern borders and continues to describe his plans for Middle Eastern peace. He also points out that any Chinese territory that the Oceanic Imperium has taken will stay with the Imperium. Kazakhstan included.

The Oceanic Imperium

 

The Imperium expresses its support of the French plan for partition, while continuing its campaigns as planned. It was in everyone's interests that the Middle East continue to govern itself.

 

The enemy was extremist, however, and an additional statement is included: that if the caliphate does indeed fight to the end, the Imperium will unilaterally partition whatever territory it occupies into independent states as it wishes. The caliphate had destabilized the world, and if it wished to have a say in how it was treated, it would have to do so now. Personally, the emperor doesn't think it's in the Caliph's character...

GLOBAL MOD POST

 

((This will be structured similarly to Bick's one a few days ago. It should affect near enough everybody, just to make the game a bit tougher. It's my first time, so be gentle.))

 

Oceanic Imperium:

 

Australia was once a place of happiness, tourism and spiders. Now? It is a place of misery, criminals and industry, with restricted connection (if any) to anyone but the Indonesians, similar to that of North Korea. At least, that's what it felt like to the 23.3 million people trapped on their island. Civil unrest was high - they didn't want to be the underling to a Lord, merely serving food at the dinner table. They wanted to be autonomous yet again, and gain their freedom back.

 

In Sydney, something revolutionary may have begun. Around the city, hundreds of images and quotes have been appearing, sprayed on to buildings by what can only be assumed to be youths. The first, major hit was the Sydney Opera House, with many of the large walls sprayed with a logo which resembled a melted skull. Little to no CCTV footage could be salvaged, as many of the cameras were covered with cloth beforehand. It's generally unknown what this could mean, but it may lead to a political movement if not handled correctly.

 

 

Slavic Union:

 

The economy begins to decline as so much money is spent expanding the military. With few devout trading partners, Ivan's economic advisers suggest halting military growth, and looking for friends, not enemies. 

 

Greater German Empire:

 

After hearing the words of the UPC, some people demand to know what is really happening in Northern Turkey. After all, the story of labor camps was just a rumor, and propaganda against METO used by the Islamic Caliphate... right? Because of this reason, many people within the Empire dismissed it as just that, a rumor. However, some civil rights activists push for answers to what was happening in the Middle East. Alas, no hard photographic evidence could back up the UPC's points, and they were still eyed by society as a terrorist organisation. Besides, why believe them anyway? Germany had only risen greater out of the years, and the current government had pulled them out of - not one, but two - recessions. Things seemed economically stable at the minute, and quality of life was high. Maybe, if the UPC had images of disturbance within the empire, they would be heard out.

 

As for talks about Prisoners of War and enslavement of Slavs in neighboring (now annexed) countries, no such thing was a foot. All of the countries had been taken with just a show of force and polite words - hardly a shot was fired. It was noted as some of the most peaceful take overs in history, with all armed forces men of the countries being reinstated as part of the Greater German Military. 

 

SUNS:

 

Lithuania was more than happy to accept the SUNS offer, and join the Northern Union. They had been dragged into an Empire of Slavs by Russia, despite not one citizen considering themselves such. However, Latvia and Estonia were on different thoughts. Latvia had returned the vote with 67% of the population wanting to stay independent, and the more Russian cultured Estonia voting at 54% to return to Russia, after they saw in other countries the improvement of life quality.

 

Argentina:

 

Argentina's rapid and ruthless expansionist regime had not gone unnoticed. The Peruvian and Ecuadorian offer is denied, stating that they would rather die than give in to such cowards. The smaller countries had brought a surprise, however. E-mailed to the General of the Argentinian armies is a copy of the USAN terms, with one in particular standing out...

 

"If a member of USAN declares war on another, all countries in USAN must declare war on the agressor."

 

Soon, Brazilian armies are spotted on crossing into Bolivia and Uruguay, whilst armies from Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, and Venezuela move down to the western front - a total force of around 3.4 million soldiers, countless armor divisions and hundreds of fighter aircraft. Their ultimatum: surrender the countries you have taken, or have them ripped from your grasp. ((It'll take 2 pages for the Venezuelan army to make it there, which equates for 400,000, and 1 page for mobilization of reserves, which is 1.8 million men.))  

 

UAA:

 

On the East border of the UAA, rogue fighters from the Islamic Caliphate raid villages and cause general havoc. They are speculated to have only joined the IC for the power - the majority of the fighters being immigrants from Somalia and Sudan.

 

Mexico/USA/Canada:

 

An astonishing wave of nationalism soars over the three countries in the new North American coalition. Many citizens believe that the forging of this alliance could give them the power to take over the world... Already disheartened after letting Israel fall to the Islamic Caliphate, and their failure to stay a stern world police enforcer over the last decade, they feel it is fit that North Americans establish order once again in the world.

 

 

Great Britain:

 

Similar to the North Americans, British people nation-wide begin considering their state as a world power. Reminiscing to times before World War II, the chant "Britain's lost it's backbone!" isn't uncommon. Thousands would like to see the reincarnation of the British Empire once again, and feel it's benefits in their pockets. If such was promised, a surge of people would surely sign up for the armed forces.

Russia

With the recent down flux of their economy once more and the rise of their military strength, it was time for the Union to strike out once more. A letter is sent to FRANCE denying the so called 'peace treaty' and that any attempt on Union lands again would be a declaration of war. A letter is sent to GREATER GERMANY as well.

"To the President of Greater Germany,

The Nordic Union has pestered and taunted the Slavic Union for much to long. War will be declared upon them soon and wish for an alliance between out two peoples. Though Germany and Russia have never been friends, a new era is beginning, and we are at the helm. Accept this offer, and Poland and Hungary will be left alone as well as mutual benefits, trade and military support.

With that, Ivan writes another letter to the Nordic Union.

"To the leaders of the Nordic Union,

Your insolence has not gone unnoticed. All troops are to withdraw from Finland, or you will be met with millions of the greatest union ever to live. You have 1 month to decide.

-President Ivan"

Another letter is sent to THE OCEANIC IMPERIUM for trade rights to boost the economy back. Russia secretly supplies military equipment and training to the CALIPHATE as well to fight against their enemies should they accept. With that, the Union's armies begin to ride and fly North-West.

The Socialist Union of Nordic States

In response to Ivan of the SLAVIC UNION's letter, another is sent:

"We have no troops in Finland you great oaf."

With the war against the Caliphate almost over, and the Union not being a major player in the war, they recall the troops and fleet in Israel. They begin to return home.

Karl was pleased by Lithuania's joining of the Union, and though he was disappointed by the declination of Estonia and Latvia, he would respect their wishes, at least for now. Collectivisation starts in Lithuania, and energy generation begins conversion to renewable sources.

The Lithuanian military is dissolved into the Union's.

Additionally, the plans and research for the super-cruiser are finalised and shared with ALL METO MEMBERS. Construction begins ((4 pages)).

United Freaking States of America (not official name):

 

As President Baker is re-elected, winning over 86% of the nation's vote, he promises to act on the peoples' urge of Americanism. With the formation of the North American Coalition (thanks Digital, the name is bad-assed), and the successful invasion Of Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, the troops move to quickly capture these countries and then invade nearby Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and more importantly Panama - a key trading country that links the Atlantic and Pacific with a Canal. These countries are corrupt, small, and relatively weak, so it is expected to be a victory. ((Mod needed though, other than me)). If succesful, the nations would be under Mexican rule, however the NAC would control the Panama canal. Although, due to their treaty with Europe, they don't move towards Cuba, however American surveillance keeps the country in check.

 

With the successful downfall of the Islamic Caliphate, President Baker congratulates Europe and the Imperium for their victory. America had sent millions of dollars in aid to see that this day would come, and agrees with the plan. Arabs are allowed immigration into the country, and even offered it - however they are to take an oath to the Quran that they would not follow extremist policies, and are under strict immigration regulations.

 

The American and Imperium Super-Carrier is near completion. It is the biggest ship in the world and is definitely the most technologically advanced. With the joint effort of the Imperium and the United States, this ship would definitely be the top dog of the sea. When completed ((1 more page - 7 so far plus the boost of 5)), both would head in the direction if the Imperium, however the American ship would dock in the U.S Pacific Islands. Imperium drone planes fill its runway, and highly advanced anti-AA, and anti-nuclear weapons are also seen.

 

The Slavic Union is asked to continue its Mars mission project with the United States, Although they had started it, the rise of Baker temporarily put a halt on it. Now, the countries with the most space research could continue again, if Ivan deemed it worthy enough.

The Formation of Government

(Previously Kosef Caliphate)

 

President Kosef had stability in Egypt thanks to the French, and was able to finally see his Egyptian Enlightenment Endeavor through. Doing away with the name Kosef Caliphate, instead debates were open for forms of government. It was all in agreed that Kosef would remain in some position of power. After much deliberation, and the hearing of the French offer, a provincial empire of sorts is founded.

 

The Egyptians supported the French plan, but however protested the Suez. Though Kosef was willing to give the French the Suez for their help, he asked that his people still earned 50% of the profits from that which they had built, and would maintain the Suez free of French expenses. If the treaty was to come to action, Kosef promised each of the states he would assume control of a say in government. A seat with one member from each formally independent nation would form a council. And a less powerful but more numerous 'The People's Voices' is ordinary people nation wide elected to represent their home district who would influence the councils choices.  From amongst the council a Premier would be elected, who would start out as Kosef. Kosef would retain absolute power, but the council and the people's voices would act as barriers to a despotism.

 

The people of the middle east and Egypt remain to see if all of their proposed nations in the French agreement actually agree to reformation into an empire.

Republic of India

 

President Devi arrived on time at Versailles palace. He cheered with the rest, fully approving of the plan. The French had some flaws, and weren't entirely fair. But a plan at all was surely better then different nations pummeling the Islamic Caliphate down and land grabbing. Devi nodded in approval as terms were proposed to the Indian delegation. 

 

"Though I protest the need to annex, it is for the greater good of the world. Nations in the wake or grips of the Islamic Caliphate are prone to fail or be highly violate. India has aimed only for stability, and I regret all previous mistakes of violence with the former Indonesian Kingdom. They were not the real threat, no, the Islamic Caliphate is. We must ensure the middle east is given a chance to grow and prosper. They are brutal, and any nation presented is doing better."

 

Pakistan is getting systematically taken by Free Pakistani/Indian forces. They would soon be on the border with Iran, and would sit tight and wait for deliberations from the Versailles conference.

 

India's naval fleet has been resting at port and gaining numbers. The third carrier planned and then halted for so long was finished, along with the other planned ships. the FRAK anti-missile tank was going well and a blueprint is drafted and testing begins.

 

Mod Section

 

The NAC gains control of key cities and areas around them in Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. The panama canal is also taken. However with these victories came surprisingly higher casualties. The reason was the now ragtag army remnants of said invaded countries, rebel and terrorist groups, and freedom fighters had all fled into the jungles. Knowing the land, they were able to carve out territory and strike back at NAC advances. Expeditions into the jungle best bring big guns and support, or face constant guerrilla attacks. Disease and lack of Jungle training aslo is a key contributor. Cities became bastions of NAC control, and the country was left contested and in opposition's hands.

 

The Socialist Union of Nordic States was facing a problem. Not serious or external, but more civilly important. With so many states merged together, diversity had increased exponentially. So many of the lands people's were deeply rooted in family and culture, not a Socialist Union of Nordic States citizen. A national identity was needed, a common language. This would be hard to do, but would pay off for the Union. With war with the Russians an imminent threat, the language barrier would have to be decided on quickly. With so many different troops from different nations now in one army, sectarianism, disobedience to one outside of a niche or culture, and confusion from different languages would result in sloppiness on the field of battle.

 

Russian's supplying armies to the Islamic Caliphate remain secret for now. But with the Caliphate rapidly crumbling, it became apparent a nation would discover supplies in the near future.

The Kingdom of Illyria and Dardania

Lines of people wated outside the giant iron buildings in the north east of Tirana, the capitol city, as a whir of electricity unheard since 2014 flows through the old electrical veins of the Uzina Factories. The large sign branding the factory's name flickered as countless lightbulbs regained life after such a long time. For the first time in decades, a thin, emaciated whisp of smoke rose from the two dozen giant industrial chimneys, eventually gaining health, and by mid-day, spitting out flame. The familiar smell of iron being worked and the sound of constnat clinging and clonking filled the air of the Industry district of the city, as the labor force of Albania and Kosovo, and now Western Macedonia is put to work. Weapons, tools, tanks, and all sorts of different things are being made, but the most prominent work is the 4 year project of the deconstruction of the Old Shenyangs to use their parts to build newer models.

As smoke rose from the brick chimneys of the Uzina, north to the mountains of Bulqize and Rrugove, the sound of heavy machinery at work shook the ore rich mountains like an earthquake or an avalanche. Deep within the bowels of the earth, giant amounts of the abundant iron ore, coal, and chromium ore were being extracted. They are brought to the surface in large carts and then loaded into vans, shipped across the well paved roads connecting to Tirana in order to be smelted at the Industry District as necessary parts for the Illyrio-Dardanic industry. Now, advances in technology and building weapons would much, much easier, with a constant flow of plentiful resources at hand.

 

While the fumes of industry were polluting the atmosphere around Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia once again, the winds of war also sweeped across the country. Military bases and bunkres from the communist times and from the times of NATO are re-enfurbished and re-armed to an extent that a membrane of defense referred to as Mburoja but Albanians and Kosovars. Anti-aircraft cannons, advanced defense systems, and heavy artillery of all kinds furnished the military bases of the Kingdom. With all borders of the country secured, now the people had one less thing to worry about.

 

Military bases though, are useless without men to man them. The 20,000 new recruits recently recruited in the Military Camps of the Kingdom are to man these bases, equipped with Ak-101's and donning METO-standard protection gear. They man the military bases with fervor, and when not manning them, they set out to fight the Kingdom's enemies.

In total, the national guard consists of 40,000 well equipped soldiers. Yet another round of 20,000 just recruited come out of the military camps, marching to the Naval Base at Vlora. These men will form the First Illyrian Foreign Brigade, and are to be sent to fight the Caliphate or act as peacekeepers in its lands. They are equipped with the illyrian standard: 1 Ak-101 rifle, 3 fragmentation grenades, 1 flashbang, A Kevlar vest, Projectile-proof helmet, necessities backpack, Kevlar lower abdominal guard (including some thigh protection), and iron tipped boots. And, of course, thy would not be Illyrion-Dardanian if they did not have their ski masks! These soldiers might not be gigantic in number, but they sure are well equipped and well trained and could tussle with any modern army out there.

SUMMARY:

1. Mining Camps Opened resulting in an influx of raw metals for the infant albanian industry. They are sent to the Uzina in order to bolster production rates.

 

2. State owned war and necessity factories opened to bolster Kingdom industry. They deal in arms, ammunition, and war machines mostly, but also produce an Albanian made car from a brand called "Agim" employing the more efficient METO standard engine. They are highly advertised.

 

3. All military bases re-furbished and re-armed to the teeth around the country's borders. They are linked by a defense network called Mburoja, which is a semi-automated missile defense system and an automated border control system. This is done by wiring the bases together underground, the wire serving as a sort of invisible, heat sensitive fence in which when crossed, informs the bases of the presence of a heat source and how big it is. 

 

4. 20,000 soldiers previously recruited (not those garrisoned in the cities) are sent to man the military camps. All of the Kingdom standard.

 

5. 20,000 new soldiers are recruited are sent to form the first Foreign Brigade to act as a peacekeeping force. All of the Kingdom Standard.

 

ACTIONS:

 

1. A new policy is to be put in place immediately. Social welfare and social services are to be denied to any non Illyrio-Dardanian citizen. Citizens must re-declare their citizenship and take a test involving basic Albanian history and language in order to be illegible for citizenship. A fee of 5000 Dollars is to be placed on every non-Albanian children giving birth in the country of Albania. If it can't be paid, the child will be confiscated and raised in a foster home. Every Albanian mother, meanwhile, will recieve 120 dollars per child, and after 4 children will receive social and welfare benefits. This reform also makes it that non-Albanians cant own property in the Kingdom lands, and all land previously "owned" by them is just rented from the state. The state can confiscate this land at any time. (1 turn)

 

2. All schools in Albanian lands are to teach strictly Albanian and one METO/NAA language that a student can choose. Curriculum is altered so the focus always remains on Albanian history and Albanian Language, and especially Albanian Culture. Other countries are looked upon sympathetically, or are hated depending on their stance with Albania at the current time period. The Communist Era is briefly mentioned as an era of decline, and nothing more is said about it. The Monarchy is Glorified, and propaganda is used to turn every child into a true Albanian. Racism is also used, especially against the Slavs and wildly against the Greeks. (1 turn).

 

3. The American Funds are focused on Macedonian Farmland rather than Albanian Farmland. Giant state owned farms of massive proportions growing METO sponsored GMOs will be constructed at whatever the cost. Anyone of non-Albanian ethnicity will not be allowed to work on these farms. (2 turns).

 

4. Constructions of more of the Mburoja home defense system are to be initiated immediately. A hyper-strong quartz-enforced wall about 5 stories high is to be erected all around the borders of Albania, Kosovo, and Western Macedonia, restricting entrance and invaders from all placed. In order to finance this project, the economy in villages is turned into an Internal Economy where people are paid currency only the Albanian government accepts, which is virtually worthless everywhere else, in exchange for their work. This allows funds to be accumulated with the only loss being the cost of stamping pictures onto paper. The capital city remains an open economy. . .but is secluded from the rest of the country so that no-one understands the difference. The construction itself takes (4 turns). 

 

5. Immigration is halted unless authorized by the Albanian government. The excuse for this is to keep potentially malevolent immigrants from entering the New Illyrian Society. The government seems fascist at this point to the educated, but because the middle class is virtually nonexistent, very few people notice. (1 turn).

 

6. The First Foreign Brigade (30,000 infantry, 12 F-16s, 30 T-90 tanks, 120 humvees, and 60 pieces of tow-able artillery along with 10 frigates on the coast) moves to the south of Albania bordering greece. (1 turn)

 

7. A rapid recruitment of mildly equipped soldiers happens in the southern reaches of Albania and Western Macedonia. These soldiers will brandish AK-47 or AK-74, possibly even other rifles that could be scrapped up. They are given old NATO Kevlar and helmets and dressed in recycled uniforms. Their training time is cut down from the usual 6 months to just 1 continuous month. This will raise a large force in the south of Albania and Western Macedonia (about 60,000 conscripted men between the ages of 17-49). (2 turns)

 

8. 50 shenyang j-6 bomberfighters are spared deconstruction and are scrapped into a fleet with about 30 f-4s and 20 f-5s. This fleet will form the first Logistics Brigade. They are to be situated in the newly-refurbished military forts along the southeast of Albania. (1 turn, as these outdated planes already exist).

DIPLOMACY:

 

1. The Area of Chameria is to be ceded to Albanian control by Greece, reason being is that it has an overwhelming Albanian Majority. PENDING:

 

1. Rapid Industrialization of the farm system and its integration into military training. Small farms in Macedonia and South Albania will be combined into giant state owned farms to be worked on by employed farmers. The produce will go torwards feeing the soldiers and populace, increasing military production. (1 turn)

 

2. Kosovo's road system is finished, allowing for minerals and local produces to get to the capitol city faster, bolstering industry and economy. (1 turn)

The Union's armies march into Finland led by tanks and waves of infantry. Missiles are launched ahead to hamper any defenses as Russia moves to take the country (MOD NEEDED).

Offer of an alliance is sent to ALBANIA, and their future endeavors. A warning letter is sent to AMERICA of the rising problem of Argentina. It is advised they remain in control of North America for their own well being. As the Caliphate falls, Russian officers and trainers encourage Muslim troops to join Russia and take Muslim lands south of Russia. (MOD NEEDED)

Kingdom of Illyria and Dardanian Reaction Post

 

The Prime Minister looked at the offer of Alliance sent to them by Russia, his heart sinking in his chest. The old man clutched his heart, thinking he might go into cardiac arrest. Two of his secretaries stood up and caught him before he fell down after reading the letter, as one of the deputy's in his office brought him some water.

 

You can never make an Alliance with both America and Russia.

 

The Prime Minister feared the worst. If he declined, it would be considered a sign of ill will. If he accepted, the Americans would surely condemn his actions, and probably METO too. In the end, the Prime Minister wrote back a reply.

Dearest Esteemed Leader Ivan, Head of the Slavic Union,

 

As a sign of good will, I welcome you request for alliance with open arms. . .however, I would like to state one thing in order so no misunderstandings take place between our two countries. The Kingdom of Illyria and Dardania doubts not your capabilities in anything, but we are unsure of how to go about this Alliance. We propose that instead of a military Alliance, we have a trade Alliance. Surely Albanian Wheat and Iron would greatly bolster both of our economies, and now, with the implementation of Kosovan Roads and the Ceding of Western Macedonia to our kingdom, this Trade Alliance could never be easier. 

 

The Kingdom greatly values Russian products, and they are avidly used by our military and people. Ensuring that our trade goes on at a stronger pace will only unlock so much more benefits.

 

I would also call for an Alliance in scientific terms and research programs. The Albanian Geological Institute, as you know, is one of the best, and hungers to share their genius with other countries.

 

Yet, as for a full fledged alliance, Military included, I doubt we can make such a thing happen as the Albanian military is currently facing a number of potential threats, and is too small. We can negotiate military matters later.

The Oceanic Imperium

 

 

 

There had been no answer from the Caliph to the offers of peace, as expected. And so, the Imperium advanced, its soldiers growing weary, yet still pressing on. The war would soon be over, the commanders said. The barbarians were already breaking, they said. And if one were to judge from the initial attack, you might think they were right.

 

The passage through the Zagros Mountains was harder and slower than expected. While armor was able to punch through easily, the highlands surrounding the path through were filled with jihadis, and if given a chance they struck at the invaders' weak spots. It took almost a month of clearing caves, setting up outposts, and general fighting before command decided it was time to move on. Nothing could be left to chance on the flanks, because below them now, in the valley, was Tehran.

 

The closer one got to the city, the heavier the fortifications became. The caliph had saved the best of his men for last, and here they were, fighting to the end. Taking this city would not kill the Caliphate--no, they would fight on elsewhere. But it would force the caliph on the run, and after this city fell, there would be few major strongholds of Islamic power left. And so the siege begins in earnest, as imperial forces move to surround the city rather than begin a full-scale assault.

 

It was not so in the south. The army detachment in the UAE is able to meet up with the badai troopers already there, and together they push into Oman. With a completely stable supply line established, their original mission is complete, and they turn south, preparing to push into the rest of Oman and then further into Yemen against crumbling, isolated forces. The fastest supply lines through the desert would soon be cut off as Riyadh finds itself threatened by thousands of badai troopers who thus far have eliminated all opposition in their path.

 

The toughest fighting however is experienced by the army units in place in Iraq. Still a bastion of the Caliphate's power, it strikes back against outward advances with all its strength. Basrah is taken by surprise, and although the Muslims take heavy losses, the Imperium is forced to fall back. Not willing to allow the supply lines to Iran to be threatened, all 50 of the antipersonnel tanks stationed in the area are allocated to a counteroffensive, along with 50,000 troops. With heavy air support, they strike at the city, and in a bloody, four day battle, finally expel the enemy. Their control over the area is shaky though. With so many separate offensives straining the campaigns resources, this group would not be able to push far outside its current position. And the Iraqis were far from defeated: they had withdrawn out of necessity, but were already preparing for another attack. For now, Basrah digs in for defense.

 

At the far east edge of the Caliphate, the fight has become a mop-up. Oceanic armored divisions swing south of the main group of jihadis, eventually arriving at the Caspian sea. Cut off from the rest of their countrymen, the few remaining enemy forces stand little chance. Many flee into Russia, where the imperial army will not follow. In the course of the campaign, it has become obvious that the northerners are supplying the Muslims, but there are bigger things to worry about, and once the news reaches the foreign ministry, they do nothing and do not spread the news. As the force in Kazakhstan can spare more and more people, they begin to support the earlier weak movements into the former soviet republics of central Asia.

 

The event in Sydney does not go unnoticed, and monitoring is increased in the area. State-run media does not react in any way, and the symbols are treated as simple graffiti, to be painted over as if they never happened. Nevertheless, the Oceanic police force, the Ministry of Protection, keeps a close eye on the area.

 

Russia's request to open up trade with the Imperium is gladly accepted, and plans are made to expand the extensive high speed rail system which is under construction into Siberia. As things settle down across China, the national economy begins to coalesce into a functional system one again. Geothermal power plants continue to be built to harness the volcanic activity in the South Pacific, and power lines are laid to bring their benefits to the rest of the empire.

 

The Overlord MKII AI system is now once again actively in development, although there are relatively few excess funds to fuel the project. In Australia, the construction of a new fleet of ships is also put back on the agenda, as it had been put on hold when the administration needed to cut funds to finance the massive reconstruction effort. As the fleet is already close to half complete, it should set sail around the same time that reconstruction finishes.

The Republic of Finland

 

 

The President sighed, looking out the gray stone compound the government operated out of in Helsinki. Finland had been keeping updated with the rest of the world in terms of technology, never really standing out but never behind the times. When, for a few months, Russia had recently annexed it, President Sauli had remained in control of the state. Now they were free again, and being invaded by Russia right off the bat. The Finnish army is a force that could easily be underestimated; the winter war had demonstrated that when Russia had attacked with the exact same forces it did now. Finland would respond the same, and troops equip and move to the front, where when once they used skis they now used upgraded and highly maneuverable jet skis and MP4's to fight the Russian armies. All countries in Europe are asked for help against this huge threat as Finnish troops begin to skirmish at the Russian army's front.

 

The economy mostly relies on industry and civil technology sectors, with a large logging sector as well.

The military is very well trained and knows their way around the country like the back of their hand. It will be slow and hard going for the invading Russians.

Stability is high and Finnish nationals (all of whom had been in military training for at least two years) jump at the chance to protect their country.

 

The Nordic Union and Slavic Union are sent the Finnish vote, where almost 100% vote for independence.

 

Slavic Union troops are killed in large numbers as they charge into Finland home territory, made up of forests and mountains. Finnish troops also take losses, though, and it looks like Finland will not hold against the Russian army for very long.

Third Mexican Empire

 

With the successful subjugation of the Central America, the Panama Canal is granted to the NAC as shared territory, its profits will be split between the three countries. The US and Canada are thanked for their support especially due to the heavy losses taken because of the guerilla warfare conducted.

 

To appease the Central American populace, Emperor Maximilian combines Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to create an autonomous municipality  The leaders are removed from office and the citizens are given the chance to elect their own. As per the legislation, free and mandatory schools are being built in the newly conquered lands where there are a sizeable child population. Maximilian also works on building proper roads there too (3 pages for everything to take effect)

 

The elite units have officially finished training in the capital, armed with highly-advanced American equipment, they are to be deployed in the South to support them through their turbulent times and deal with the remnant militants and guerilla warriors. The standing army and reservists are called to the capital for re-training, including how to use the American equipment and properly man the tanks and jets, all taught by the U.S officers (1 page per 75'000 men). The government has also instigated a recruitment drive, seeking to expand the Mexican military to rival the size of countries like the Oceanic Imperium. Due to the military success of the army, it shouldn't be too hard to get an additional 300'000 men (3-4 pages).

 

On a completely unrelated note, the Empress is pregnant! This will be Maximilian's first child and if male, the Heir Apparent to the Mexican Throne.
