A New Marshal

Fili Grandaxe steps forward to speak to a group of dwarves mingling in the town square. After calling for their attention, the small crowd turns their gaze towards the Thane. He begins to speak.

 

“My fellow dwarves, some of you may have heard rumors that our Grand Marshal, Yeulf Starbreaker was removed from his position. I am here to officially announce, that those rumors were true. I was appointed to this position shortly after his removal, and stand before you today to announce that I plan to get the legion back on it’s feet.’

 

“I remember a day when the legion was feared by its enemies, and honored by its allies. I hope to bring these golden days forward from the past, and here to the present. In the coming days, I will be making complete reformations, primarily revolving around pay for work. No more yearly salaries for avoiding service.’

 

“I request your support, and patience, as I work on reforms. Keep your eyes peeled for more notices, and an application for commanding positions which will be necessary to allow the legion to operate properly.”

With that, he nods, and begins answering questions and concerns brought up by the crowd.

He pats Fili on the back as he passes, then goes back to work on the fortress.

Dunrid Grandaxe catches word while working in the forests, hunting and taming animals for the dwarves. He speaks softly, "Onleh if da legion can take da bloodeh undead. Dis all should 'ave been done before we los' our citeh."

 

Dunrid heads to the forest dwarf lands and begins prepping war boars for the riding of the legion.
