Edictum Retributionem

His Grace Guy de Bar, Regent of Oren, does thus decree that the following acts, entitled the Edictum Retributionem, be enacted post-haste:

In accordance with the wishes outlined in the peace treaty - having been agreed upon by the parties of the Orenic State and the rebellious Franz Sarkozic, Duke of Adria - all nobles from Marquessess to the lowliest of landed knights who swore fealty to the treacherous forces of Hugues, Siguine, and Franz - be their allegiance to all three or simply one, are to be hunted down and executed.

Any bearing the name Vanir, Vladov, Sarkozic and Othaman and any who fulfilled a leading role whilst in servitude to the treasonous Ducal Coalition shall be hunted down and spared no clemency in the dealing of justice. Those whom attempt to flee or resist this clause, agreed upon by Duke Sarkozic himself, will be cut down and executed along with those that aid them.

The Lord Chancellor Guy de Bar and the Lord Marshal Augustus d’Amaury do however extend the warm and open hand of clemency to those that are willing to surrender themselves to justice. If the crown’s demands are met, and the leaders of the rebellion hand themselves to the Orenic State, their men will be spared and given the chance to serve Oren loyally.

The executions of notable figures formerly-subservient to the Ducal Coalition shall be held regularly; those that assist in bringing them or their crimes to light will earn the crown’s sincere favor.

Signed,

Lord Chancellor Guy de Bar, Duke of Drusco, Regent of Oren

Lord Marshal Augustus d’Amaury, Count of Amaury, Titan of Humanity

'Ed' smirks. The Savoyards would turn on the treacherous Constantine and with the former Adrian nobles in hiding it would be near impossible to off the Carrion bloodline.

"God shits on on Savoy Steel." - Tylos mutters to himself as he wonders if they know he helped Adria.

Sinfyi Petali exhales with relief, considering she had thrown her Raevir name, Jožefina, into the fire many years ago. Giving a shrug of her shoulders, she'd then set off to swindle any Orenian she came across. Soon enough, she would become sure to drop her accent and the use of  "da" and "niet".

Bishop Edmond Sarkozic scowls.

"Thank the lord I've been excused from this massacre, my Church was already burnt to the ******* ground. I've nothing else to give. I'll find the flaming heretic and lynch the little ****."

"To kill their senior nobles is undoubted, but to kill every minor noble is intemperate and not in accordance with the Code of Chivalry. The minor nobles should be pardoned after the taste of much correction." Francois d'Ibelin comments.

Ciri would hear of the senseless chattering, the sounds of clinging ferrum and the brisk footsteps that trample down the winding gravel roads. Her eyes catch notice of the previous grass blades, once inclined to a shrill point, crushed by the grotesque armor of Oren men while those of abandonment tread on lightweight to avoid being caught. Her head tilts up at this thought, smirking slightly as she mutters:

"Death, I thought at least, should have finished by the war's final calmness. . . yet now it proceeds with a 'civil' massacre. These valah are quite malicious in their behavior."

Natalia reads the edict, and feels an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. Her brother was gone, Franz was executed, and now this... the world was turning upside down.

She buries her face into her hands, desperately trying to stop herself from crying. What was she supposed to do now?
