Declaration of Repudiation

The cry of the Act of Abjuration reaches the ears of Kolohe Finn, as he reads over a copy picked up in Felsen from a friend’s daily rounds. The fire crackles behind him, as a gust of wind shakes and rattles his keep. The five foot eleven elf paces around his home, pondering to himself thoughtfully beside the warmth of the kindling fire. A thought comes to his mind, as he read over the documents, carefully scanning over them behind his reading glasses. He scratches the lower scruff of his beard, as he lets off a heavy hearted sigh.

“To this document, I say bring it on. It is about time some justice be done to the plague that rots this fine world.”

A letter is sent to the Holy Orenian Emperor, in the most fine papyrus bearing the sigil of his family.

“To His Imperial Majesty the Holy Orenian Emperor, I am hoping that this letter reaches you well, as I know you to be a very busy man, so I shall make this concise. We of Fort Esterwick pledge ourselves fully to the Imperial sovereign, John the First, and repudiate all authority of that great tyrant, Rhewen Frostbeard, and of the government of Urguan.”

The Emperor takes up the letter in his private study, scanning over it briefly. He gives a nod of acknowledgement to the Count of Pompourelia who stands with him in the chamber, placing the declaration firmly atop his desk.

"You've done remarkably, Lord Roswell. This is but the first of many who see the light. Truly, God is with us now. Tell the Castellan of Esterwick that I accept his fealty, and shall be sending an Imperial garrison south to bolster the fort's defense against that legion of scullions."

Arthur Roswell nods stoically as he meets the Castellan of Esterwick. His long hours of working for the defection seeming to have paid off. He waits patiently within the sturdy walls for his men to arrive. After many meetings and discussions the land finally cedes to Oren. The two step into the hall, the fire roaring wildly and filling the room with warmth. Arthur takes his seat at the table. "His Imperial Majesty, John I Frederick Horen, accepts your pledge of allegiance." He takes a sip of his wine, swilling it around his mouth. He savours the taste, nodding his head. It is not clear whether Lord Roswell is savouring the taste or the Orenian victory in acquiring Fort Esterwick. "The Imperial Forces will be with us very soon. We are placing men here to ensure that this hold remains in Orenian hands," He stands up and walks outside to the gate. In the distance the tops of halberds and helmets of the Imperial forces can be seen. "Open the gate!", barks the Lord Viceroy. The gate is opened and within minutes the hold is filled with Imperial soldiers.

I did in fact sell her the land, but I explicitly made it clear that we would retain absolute control over everything, as we do with all land and housing sales. It is our policy to do this to prevent situations like this from ever occurring. I personally told Elken that I gave no consent to have the region changed in any way. shape or form. You we're not vassals, you simply were tenants. Its like trying to file a lawsuit against the owners of a house you rent in order to claim control over it, just because you don't like them.

You realized that this is an open rebellion, correct? IC'ly, nothing stopped me from opening up and offering my home for Orenian soldiers to encamp. Nothing stopped the troops from garrisoning my castle. Basically what happened IC'ly, was troops came up and I surrendered the castle up to them to offer a better position in this war. Essentially, Oren has taken over this spot of your land, and has secured it as a field camp. Think of it as a spot of your land getting taken over.

If region ownership was as sacrosanct and inalienable as you're claiming, then Redbench_ would still be owner of your entire region, as you never warclaimed to get it back and it was singularly in his hands. Fortunately for you then and in this situation us, actual RP as opposed to entirely OOC regionry has prevailed in the eyes of the powers that be, and the castle's ours.
