Chiang Kai-Shek would look upon everything that was occurring with great dismay. The Chinese Nationalist Party recognized the attempt by the Communist Party to undermine their efforts to defend China and gain power. Maybe before Kai-Shek would have lashed out, but not today. While many of his advisers suggested sending troops to force out the Commies or to negotiate with the Japanese, Kai-Shek did not listen. If the Commies wanted to fight dirty, then by all means Kai-Shek would tear apart their propaganda whilst pushing back the Japanese to reclaim their lands. While the Commies hid behind posters and actors, Kai-Shek would address the nation in a speech, which would be broadcast across the country via radio and sent to countries all across the world.

Chiang Kai-Shek stood before a large crowd of people in the capital of Chongquing, with many people from news a radio there as well. Beforehand, however, he had released the telegraph sent to the Nationalist Government by the Japanese in order to make aware what the Japanese were attempting to do. He had to get this speech right if he wanted to secure the support of foreign countries and of his own people that may be looking to the Commies. With a deep breath, he began.

"There are many of you out there that look upon me with worried eyes and ask 'What shall we do next'. To this I have only to say that the Republic of China shall not falter in our war against the Japanese dogs. As you have all been made aware, these dogs reached out to us, trying to turn us against our brothers in the north. However, and here I shall address you you Japanese dogs, look for a bone elsewhere! The Republic of China shall not falter against you and your foolish government. You believe you are winning this war? I believe you are sadly mistaken. So go ahead and try to take our lands you filthy mutts, for we shall stand strong when you come for us in greater force, shooting every dog you send forth! After all your dogs have been slaughtered and lie in a pool of blood, know that the Republic of China will be coming for you! The so called Japanese Empire will be torn to shreds, for they are not a great empire, they are cowards that murder civilians and take women and children to do terrible things to them! Never will we forget what the dogs have done, and the dogs will pay for their actions! China, will not falter!"

Kai-Shek would take a short pause as the crowd applauded before continuing.

With that, Kai-Shek would bow. His speech would be broadcast and published across China.  This speech has also been sent to countries all around the world, and telegraphed to Japan in response to their telegraph.

Military Policies

Production will immediately commence on further creating artillery pieces, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, and planes. Most of the anti-tank guns will be shipped off to the northern front, as it is too hilly and too forested in the south for the Japanese to effectively use armored vehicles. The rest will be shipped down nearby the Japanese holdings in the southern half of China. We will begin stationing them along the front against China in the south, moving them into position under the cover of darkness and hiding them in the foliage among the hill tops, seeing how much of the southern region of China is very well forested. The planes will be hidden away and not fully assembled, so once we finally have a large number of them assembled we can hit the Japanese with a much larger force.

As of our current numbers being 3.7m standing troops, we currently have 1.5m stationed along the north front against the Japanese, and 2.2m stationed along the southern front. However, there are also many guerrilla fighters behind the front attacking the Japanese in the pockets between the major roads mostly guarded by their troops. We will try to smuggle arms across the front to further arm these troops and ensure they are a more effective force, and we will attempt to get them to aid us in coordinating attacks against the Japanese attempting to rebuild the railroads torn down by the retreating Chinese. If we are successful in doing this, we will then free the slave labor the Japanese are using to rebuild the railways.

Seeing how most Chinese are unhappy with the Japanese occupation, we will attempt to use this fact to establish a civilian run spy network in the Japanese back line so we can learn more about their troop positioning and supply lines. While we are fairly confident we will be able to get them in China, we will also be attempting to organize a spy ring in Manchukuo.

Villages nearby the PCP/RoC border have been warned to watch for incoming CPC troops. They are to nonviolently resist, but militia groups are being trained should the CPC attempt to use violence against the RoC civilians for refusing to recognize the CPC occupation and not obeying  CPC policies.

Domestic Policies

The RoC will continue to create underground factories which cannot be targeted by Japanese airstrikes. We will also make underground bunkers for the populous to hide out in during air raids as we have already done.

The RoC has also increased its effort to recruit more people into its ranks to fight against the Japanese invasion by publishing propaganda all over RoC controlled lands.

Propaganda by the CPC is now being combated by the RoC's own propaganda, which highlights the fact the CPC, while being attacked by the Japanese, had put troops far away from the fighting in peaceful villages controlled by the RoC.

Telegraphs

CPC:

Unless you agree to keep your forces away from the border we have with you and recognize you have no control of the villages your wrongfully occupied, we will provide you with no aid in the battle against the Japanese, and remain content in defending our own front against them. However, should you choose to keep your forces focused on fighting the Japanese dogs in the north, we may be able to move troops to push against the Japanese.

USA:

We ask that the United States continue to provide support to the RoC.  The Japanese have continued to slaughter and do terrible things to the Chinese populous, and we have tried our best to fight them back with what we have, but we need your continued support in order to do so. We understand that you are attempting to have peaceful relations with the Japanese, but do not forget about the Japanese attack on the USS Panay. Despite what they may say, it was by all means a deliberate attack on a clearly marked American vessel. Beware the Japanese.

Great Britain:

We request your permission to start building up the defense in Burma. Burma is vital to ensuring that we can maintain a supply route, and with the Japanese having already targeted our other supply routes, it is important that we keep this one open.

THE BRITISH EMPIRE

703ae89d1a0690894c8f076e7e3a3efc.jpg

"...And so this is NOT the end of our struggle; it may not even be the beginning of the end. But it may be the end of the beginning."

Winston S. Churchill finished his speech, and all Parliament rose up in applause. He was becoming a great national hero, with his victory over the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain.

However, new threats were looming over the horizon... Even as Britain was saved from the immediate threat of a German invasion, new threats to the Empire loomed over the horizon.

Even as he returns to Number 10 Downing Street from Parliament, an aid of Churchill's brings him the latest news on the war. Apparently, the Italians are invading Malta...? Of course Churchill knew about this two weeks in advance, but now it was confirmed. So the Italians wanted to pick a fight with the world's greatest sea power? Bring it on, he thought to himself as he lit a cigar, trudging back to his home.

What was more interesting was that The Third Reich had extended an offer of peace to the British Empire. The aid handed Hitler's missive to Churchill, and he looked over it. Churchill felt the temptation to accept the offer of peace... It was incredibly tempting. It would end the war and save Britain from the further horrors. But as he contemplated the offer, he remembered his own radio speech several months back to the British people.

"...We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We will NEVER SURRENDER!"

Could he turn back on his word to the British people? Though not a surrender, it would severely weaken the might of the Empire, and it would undoubtably anger the majority of the British people.

So he orders his aid to sternly decline Hitler's offer as he enters his home, grumbling to himself as he immediately goes for his favorite bottle of scotch.

----------------------------

In MaltaBritish intelligence puts the information they have received from breaking the Italian code to good use. Machine gunners and infantry are waiting in the Maltese heights, intending to slaughter the Italian paratroopers as they fall from the sky and land in the mountains.

As the Italian Navy and it's random civilian vessels sail across the ocean, the British's advanced radar technology proves it's worth. Knowing the locations of the enemy ships, Landcaster bombers and Swordfish dive bombers immediately scramble to attack the invasion fleet, supported by the infamous Spitfires which would likely make short work of the supporting, almost obsolete Italian air-force.

Meanwhile, the garrison in Malta digs in, working with what time they've been given to set up trenches, stockades, land mines, and other defenses to make the invasion as miserable as possible for the Italian forces, and to defend against it. They'd been expecting the Italians to attempt to take the island for some time now, but now their fears were confirmed. An additional 5,000 troops are syphoned from Egypt to bolster Malta's defense force, but little more can be spared as the British military prepares for a renewed conflict in North Africa. Artillery batteries are hastily deployed along the coast, the British intending to shell the landing craft and other assorted ships as they approach.

Central reserves are established on both Gozo and Malta, where fast-moving armored units and reserve troops can quickly be drawn from depending upon where the Italians land. The British strategy, if pushed back, would be to get to the Maltese heights and hold out there as long as possible, or until reinforcements or naval aid can arrive.

uD1O4fX.png

A plan, meanwhile, is hatched to send some of Britain's naval reserves from India through the Suez Canal, as well as to divert an Atlantic task force through Gibraltar, to attempt to attack and disrupt the makeshift Italian invasion fleet, if they can steam there in time, and if the forces in Malta can hold out long enough.

Nb7XIAk.jpg

Though the two dreadnaughts succeed in shelling Gibraltar,  and much chaos ensues around the stronghold, the city and the naval/air bases there are well-prepared. They had already been expecting a possible Italian, or even a Spanish, attack for some time now, and the RAF scrambles as the dreadnaughts attack the city. They would attempt to make short work of the aging war vessels that had foolishly decided to attack the city without support ships.

Notably, the British forces at Gibraltar do nothing to provoke the Spanish, and in fact, continue to acknowledge their neutral status, offering to open up a dialogue with the dictator Franco for future diplomatic discussions.

An agreement is also made with the Portuguese, allowing the RAF to use airbases in the Azores to protect their Atlantic convoys.

------------------------------------

Britain contacts the neutral nation of Turkey, offering it a contract to build British warships along it's Mediterranean coast. This would undoubtably stimulate the Turkish economy, and add to it's prestige.

Britain also requests the usage of Turkish naval bases in the Mediterranean. They would be willing to request a lease of one or two, and the Empire would pay well for permission to use some of these bases.

-----------------------------------

Though diplomatic correspondences are opened up with both the communist and nationalist factions of China, Britain is wary about getting itself involved in the pacific war, and proceeds cautiously with their dialogues. Observers based out of Hong Kong monitor the war from neutral locations however, and are horrified to see the atrocities that the Japanese have committed against Chinese, reporting such things back to their superiors.

Britain sends an ambassador to Imperial Japan, intending to open up a dialogue with the Japanese as well. He acknowledges Japan's pledge to leave British and Commonwealth possessions in the Pacific and Asia alone, and states that Britain will remain neutral in the war against China so long as Japan stays away from Britain's own Asian possessions.

However, Britain publicly expresses it's concerns over the atrocities that have been committed against Chinese forces by the Japanese military, and urges both sides of the war to come to a compromise before even more lives are lost, or at the very least show proper dignity and civility towards each other. The Empire offers to broker a conference in HONG KONG to discuss a possible compromise between the three warring factions, before it is too late.

--------------------------------

To Sweden, Britain states that ships bound for the Reich are, and will be, subject to attacks from British sea and air forces. However, they would be willing to let ships bound for the allied powers and neutral nations remain unharmed, upon the condition that Sweden adds Britain to it's trading roster.

------------------------------

Churchill continues to maintain close diplomatic relations between the United States and the British Empire.

In a show of good faith and cooperation, the United States and Britain establish a joint Committee of Industry and Logistics to regulate the trans-Atlantic trade between the two nations. Many of Britain's prominent industrial capitalists and businessmen are to sit on the council, along with many of America's finest as well.

1619_43-CMYK.jpg

Continuing to receive weapons and supplies from lend-lease, Churchill now requests that America dispatch naval assistance to help guard the convoys that they are sending to Britain across the Atlantic.

-----------------------------------

Colonial forces in Egypt rally together in full expectance of a renewed assault on their possessions in North Africa. A new general has been put in charge of the British forces in North Africa: Bernard Montgomery. Having shown tactical aptitude and competence in the past, Britain now takes a gamble, hoping that Montgomery will be able to stop the advance of the Axis powers on Egypt...

Aid is also requested from Charles de Gaulle and Free French forces in Syria to defend Egypt, should it come to it.

------------------------------------

At home, Britain throws it's full industrial might behind manufacturing new airplanes and ships for the war against Germany. Tens of thousands of able-bodied men are drafted into the British Royal Army, and British and Commonwealth air and seamen train new pilots and sailors to fight for the Empire and for the Commonwealth against the Nazi menace.

15,000 soldiers are also sent from Scotland to assist the Canadians in seizing and securing Greenland before the Nazis take it themselves.

FINLAND

OpKtNdpgQNrUXjWOjWEVJN1k_OvWBQ5Eqx7FdJvQ

The people of Finland were hurt and beaten, but not broken. The evil Soviets taint the world with their communist mindset that once split the nation into civil war. After having a Pyrrhic victory known as the Winter War, the Finns and their German allies feel that they must strike back at the beaten Russian and take back Karelia from the Soviets. Carl Mannerheim announced to the people and the military that they shall be striking against the Soviets, but he did not say that he wished to keep on good terms with the allies despite their alliance with the Third Reich. Coming from German ancestry, Mannerheim stilled considered himself more Finnish than anything and cared little for the racial theories of the Reich. However the Germans were the best chance at keeping the Finns alive against the Soviet invaders. The plan was simple, take Karelia and the people there will join up with the cause and then they can secure a proper homeland. With the Germans helping and the Italians sending motor torpedo boats the Finns may yet have a chance to prevail.

Military

Crossing_River_Olonets.jpg

With 530,00 Finnish troops and 220,00 German troops they began arming up with gear similar to the early Third Reich military. They had a fairly strong air force with early war German airplanes and also quite a few tanks. The regular Finns were different from the Germans as they carried their renowned Mosin Nagant. Heros of the Winter War like the wounded but not dead Simo Hayha  are the type of people that each Finn tries to emulate in the coming war against the Soviets. While the Soviets are trying to stop the Germans from invading the Finns will strike into and take over Karelia. The plan was to full on rush and catch the Soviets by surprise and capture key areas in Karelia and to also get the Kola peninsula with the help of some of the Sami locals who had no love for the Soviets. This ''full rush'' would make it impossible for the Soviets to entrench and defend against the Finns as the Finns were at home in the woods, swamps, and permafrost of the region. The main focus was the Soviets and the safety of the Finnish people!!!!

Economy

6xdbj3RgeuKa-hZEZljCtwSKFHmsgz4aXbfbr5MH

The Finns were going to rely on selling wood materials to neutral countries like Sweden and the USA. Also producing war materials gave those not in the war something to do that would support the Finns fighting against the Red menace. The main force was doing logging, but the second major economic effort was producing weapons like Mosin Nagants and small arm to sell and give to citizens in case the Reds wish to make the mistake of invading Finland again.

Diplomacy

-7pb-q1fThRuuxkiSFqSSyGbPzSNyLIzQs9nZ31V

The Finns would write to the Third Reich to ask if the troops stationed in their country would join in the invasion of Karelia and the Kola Peninsula. They would say that if so they would use Karelia's tin, lumber, and other resources to help the German war effort and that they would help out the Germans in crushing the Soviets as long as they did not harm any native Finno-Uralic peoples.

Then they would write to the USA and the UK to tell them that their alliance with the Reich was one of necessity and not one of want. They wished that the two nations would not declare war on the Finns as they have no ill will towards the UK or USA as they only ally with German because they have a common enemy known as the Soviet union.

Sweden

Political

Sweden responds to the British annoyed and bothered as their ships would still be put under stress from the British Navy but they would have to think about this decision and soon a response to sent back to Winston Churchill, A defensive alliance offer is also sent out to Finland saying that the two Nordic countries should try and stick together if they are to survive in the war, offering the trading of Iron ore and maybe some weaponry.

separate diplomat would be sent to Germany to try and discuss the possibility of giving Norwegian lands over to Sweden so the German Reich wont have to worry about a Norwegian Resistance using Finland as an example of fierce Scandinavian resistance.

Military

The military begin to be placed under more training to discipline the soldiers and train them on how to use their newly growing equipment, training the tank battalions by using some of German's organization method's ( Used this for reference: http://www.feldgrau.com/org44.html ), Meanwhile a form of secret service are put into work attempting to secretly start the decryption of both German and British communications just for a safe measure.

Economic

The Factories continue to be made to efficiently supply the army with what they need along with the populous being provided jobs in the factories attempting to grow the industrial capabilities of Sweden.

Trade

The trade with Britain sadly must be declined after looking over the situation in the Baltic's due to German naval supremacy and how valuable the German's trade is for Sweden and so trade ships continue trading with Germany and very rarely attempt to trade with the British.

Free France

Bon Voyage is a large and flamboyant hotel in the heart of London. Ran by a married French couple, it looked the part. After de Gaulle started the whole operations, a HQ was needed. The couple donated the whole hotel to de Gaulle and his command staff. From this hotel, the  Free French Government would run their entire operations. Many notable figures would stop in, Churchill himself pays frequent visits. The hotel and the younger Free French are becoming widely known for their party appetite. It was in one of the suites that on this very moment the future of France is planned..

Ringed around an oval table were the heroes of a free France. Charles De Gaulle himself was there, idly tapping a beat on the table. Surrounding him were various lower officers, government officials, and colonial governors. All the higher up generals and their one admiral are on the many fronts. Charles is forced to work with largely inexperienced and young Free Frenchmen. However this could prove all well and good, the youth adapt fast. After the colonial successes of their first year in the war, spirits were raising. With every radio broadcast came more recruits, from all sorts of nationalities. Recruits are desperately needed, as the Free French army is spread thin. Almost completely an all volunteer army, the Free French Forces (FFF) are highly motivated. The majority of their army is in Africa, awaiting orders. The navy has long been gathering in the coastal ports of Free French Ports, awaiting orders.

After days of careful planning, de Gaulle and his government have formed their next step. It would be tough to manage every theater, but de Gaulle trust his field generals. In Africa, Leclerc is posted. The darling of the FFF, Leclerc is a young and genius military commander. He has already been distinguished for his service before the war. Now Leclerc is really in his element, a total and difficult war. He receives a packet from de Gaulle, detailing what he wants. It will be up to Leclerc to handle the specifics. Tens of thousands of colonial troops have volunteered to protect their motherland. They were the majority of the FFF for now, a highly spirited group. Realizing this will be a long and deadly war, Leclerc makes a vital choice. The majority of the fresh volunteers and the beginning of the conscripts are kept in friendly territory. British officers are loaned, and they begin to train the force. They won't be sent forward for some time, until they are up to modern infantry standards. Every FFF officer is needed, hence the Brits, and they are sent north. The majority of the veteran FFF begin to launch large raids into Vichy West Africa. Their main goal was not to conquer, but to force Vichy to tie up troops there. Behind these a large contingent of trained volunteers set up camps. Their tents are camouflaged, no lights are allowed at night, and extra forms of stealth precautions are taken. Over a dozen camps are hidden away, behind the front lines with West Africa. A few may be discovered, but it would be hard to tell how large of a force is hidden away. The last command of Leclerc is to send five thousand conscripts to Egypt, to bolster the British garrison.

In the Middle East, a policy of holding and consolidating is much the same. Primarily the operations in the Middle East is under British direction. The FFF would provide support, and garrison. In Syria however, de Gaulle himself makes a direct order. Broadcasted to the world, but addressed to Hitler, de Gaulle makes an ultimatum.

"Across the world me and the true French government fight on. Our colonies are with us, the children of a great mother. They are not disheveled conscripts, but seasoned volunteers. All this you will find out soon, I'm sure. However, the Third Reich is predictable, and not worth fighting. On some fronts that is. French Syria is contested, your misguided Vichy puppet doing the work. You are the real enemy, not my brothers. Thus, I am delivering this ultimatum to you. Call off Axis forces in Syria, give up on your futile grab for oil. If you do not meet these demands, I will begin to order the destruction of primary oil fields in Syria. French birds tell me interesting things, one of them being a hunger for oil. These resources are valuable, but not good enough to let fall into Axis hands. We will rig everything for destruction, we will infiltrate your crews, and sabotage it all. We will send desert raiders in for quick strikes, to torch everything. Whatever you do, we will be there with a torch in hand. So I state again, call off Axis forces in Syria, or face starvation of the worst kind"

As the British navy sails to fight the Italians, a contingent of the Free French Navy joins them. Ten warships, and three submarines make up the task force. They will support the flanking push against the Italians. However de Gaulle suggest to the Brits that they halt the Spanish invasion of Morocco first. Their navy could not beat the combined Ally might. After that the Italians would be lacking a naval ally, and easy to pick off. The Spanish army would then be stranded in Morocco, useless.

In Asia, things are far more quiet. The FFF has no intention of an open war with Japan, they merely want to keep to their islands. French Polynesia is this theaters HQ. It is there the colonial volunteers are sent for extensive training under British officers. In the enclave in National China, nothing special is planned. They instead offer a deal to the nationalist. Free France offers to provide the blue prints and skilled overseers to prop up modern military factories. They would help the nationalist make modern French weapons and tanks. In return, Free France request a 1/3 of all produced military hardware in said factories. In Indochina, the resistance slowly grows. They do nothing bold to catch the eye of Vichy France, they merely being to become better organized. Troops are stationed and trained in the depths of cave systems and jungles. They will bide their time.

The French Resistance in mainland France also follows a stealth policy. They will do nothing against the Germans, besides collecting information. The resistance cells will begin to grow and strengthen. They will consolidate and expand before taking any real actions.

Salazar stood upon the balcony, as thousands of people gathered to watch the parade, a glim in the leader’s eyes would appear as he sees the future of Portugal, the small country on the edge of a peninsula, march across the scare. The Great Generation, it was called, the most instructed and physically able generation in the history of Portugal. Although manpower was desperately needed if Portugal wished to develop their land, but, Salazar did not worry about this just yet.

One thing that did worry Salazar was Franco’s action against britain, the last thing the dictator wanted so near his fatherland was war, by either the Axis or the Allies, Salazar sent a telegram to his friend and ally.

“Caudillo, General and Prime minister of Spain, Francisco Franco;
I do not write you as an ally, nor as a neighbour, I write you as a friend and partner in this peninsula, I ask, as a friend, to cease the attack on Gibraltar, this will only bring strife and war to our peninsula. My country, Portugal, would not benefit from any conflict, and neither would your people.
Best wishes;
António de Oliveira Salazar, Professor, Doctor e Primeiro Ministro de Portugal.”

Salazar then met with the Generals of the army, there wasn’t a lack of men since conscription was mandatory, but armament was needed. Salazar considered buying vehicles from both Britain and Germany, thus he met with both the Ambassadors from the Nations to propose a deal to buy tanks from germany, and weapons from Britain.
[Pok and Andrew pls]

The Portuguese economy was still not in it’s best shape, even with the increase of tungsten mines and the booming of the small mining sector in the country. Salazar was worried that, once the war was over, Portugal would go back to it’s state of near poverty, the Governor-Generals of Moçambique and Angola were ordered to search both for arable land and resources underground, corporations were told that if they developed the area more they’d be given rewards, perhaps even a slight say in the local governments of the colonies. [Mod please]

The Ministers and Generals of Salazar also warned the leader, giving free access of the azores to the British might send a wrong message to Herr Hitler and the Reich, thus, the British shall now be taxed 400000 Pound Sterling per month for the usage of the airbase.

The army also was considered very meek in comparison with other European countries, Portugal would now have at least 200.000 men at all times in the continent, and more when in war, if need be.

Salazar also started to invest in railways and in infrastructure, building various roads and a line that connected the Tungsten mines to Porto, the biggest port city.

The United States of America

The fascist alignment of Europe was troubling indeed, the light of democracy was beginning to fade throughout Europe. But Roosevelt did what he could so far; The Industrial conglomerate with the British allowing great reformation in production and logistics in the military. Many bureaucratic layers where cut out, thousands of jobs would be created with the new facilities throughout the years, and raw resources would become more affordable with the discount. But Roosevelt couldn't keep the private sector in his palms for too long; some on the Committee wanted to see movement already; they wanted to get proximity to profit.

Considering the secure situation with the US' allies; the British being funded and supplied as the French were involved in bilateral talks, Roosevelt set out to please the Committee.  He send a delegation to Cuba; who was significantly under American influence both politically and financially. The Protectorate was a weak democracy, which paved a way for bribery and pressured resignations. In the first phase, the Committee of Industry & Logistics would actively attempt to undermine rival businesses in Cuba and lower the prices of their own casinos and products on the island; laying the groundwork for a monopoly.  In the second phase; Roosevelt's cabinet would release funds that the Committee could use to buy loyalty from multiple key figures within the Police, military and press of Cuba. While alarms were raised by those who declined the bribes, Cuba was in no position to reprimand the Roosevelt administration as a militarily weak protectorate.  In the third phase, the journalists that went for the money were tasked to formulate and print excessive propaganda against the current democracy. Pretending to 'expose' corruption scandals within the democracy that were entirely fictional, and on purposely outrageous to the US government. The economic shock, consolidation of influence and the weak democracy as scapegoat would, at least according to various strategists within the cabinet, create a desperate and chaotic situation in Cuba.

As the finale, some naval destroyers would approach Havana from Florida with waving American flags. The eastern fleet is prepared to land in Cuba for a full scale invasion if necessary, with 30.000 draftees guaranteed. A telegram would be send to the Cuban democratic government;

'The god righteous US of A, the bulwark of liberty and prosperity of the west, has witnessed its own kin being tormented by a weakly constructed government that struggled to govern since we granted your independence. We of the United States cannot tolerate this, as various fascist and Communist forces stand at the gates of the free west. Sincere times ask for sincere measures, and we forcefully request you to be integrated in the Federal system of the United States as the 49th State.  Not because we feel that you don't deserve the right of sovereignty, but because the United States government cannot afford such a extravagant nation to become the puppet of Nazi and Communist lobbyists within your democratic government. Our constitution provides true representation of the will of the individual, and the need of the collective. It paves no possibility towards oppression and dictatorship, which is the last thing your struggling people deserve. Comply for the sake of humanity, or we shall enforce our god given obligation to preserve the liberty of every American by force. We have rescued you from the Spanish, and we will rescue you from the Germans as well. '

Negotiations with Japan went well, as the two nations agreed to leave each other be for time being. The British agreed on similar terms, which created an excellent setting to focus on the French initiative. Various American strategists were send to their HQ in London, establishing a line of communications between de Gaulle and the US of A. It was important that the state of Roosevelt's Allies weren't so dire, as it could sway the Japanese to join the de facto Allied coalition.

Regno d'Italia

As the British prepare to defend their Maltese lands and Italian planes start to close in on the islands, something strange happens.

The planes and invasion fleet suddenly divert course and pass the islands towards Africa. The British scramble had apparently made the Italians second-guess their decision, and instead the various forces and supplies are sent westward and southbound towards Tunis, capital of Italian North Africa. The 900 modern Italian planes are pulled back to the Boot or circumvent to African airfields, and the British air force only finds outdated biplanes and triplanes to fight against. Of the two dreadnoughts shelling Gibraltar, one is sunk and one is heavily damaged, limping back towards the Sardinian navy port. The rest of the Italian navy, pulled back to the safety of ports on the Boot, are upgraded with outdated German radars, and as the Italian army continues to condense many of its officers are sent back to school to get better training, with the Italians asking Germany if the latter could either send officers to train Italians, or the Italians could have officers train under the Germans.

Total casualties of the Operation Herkules dodge:

153 Macchi Biplanes

2 Condotierri class light cruisers

~9,000 troops in transport

Giovanni Messe is sent across the Mediterranean to act as the Italian North Africa general. He is considered by many to be Italy's single best general, and is accompanied by famous generals such as Mario "Black Beast" Roatta and Annibale "Electric Whiskers" Bergonzoli. Immediately troops begin to build up the Italian North Africa ports and British intelligence confirms that Italy is preparing for an offensive sometime in the near future, with the Italian army in Africa totaling over 400,000, with artillery, light and "medium" tanks, and supply lines/drops being prepared across Italian holdings and towards the border with the British. A message is sent to the Germans, stating that Italy's North Africa army would be prepared to follow Rommel when the order is given.

Italian convoys begin to be equipped with small radars and sailing in the dead of night to Tripoli to prevent losses to British fleets. New naval officers and seamen are trained heavily in nighttime operations. Italian planes also begin to be fit with radios.

Italian factories continue to be converted, and rifles begin to be constructed in them based on recovered rifles taken from the Greek army, a massive upgrade from the previous 1895 rifles. Automobile factories continue to build new armored cars to properly mobilize the infantry.

In regards to the Eastern Front, an Italian army of 3,000 officers and 65,000 men equipped with supplies for the winter, plans for supply lines, and older armored cars is headed by Rodolfo Graziani and crosses through other Axis countries as Italy issues a declaration of war on the Soviet Union. The army would cross into Russia through Romania and Hungary, and Italian military doctrine would show as the army would move slowly enough to prepare supply lines and other plans as it made its way towards Ukraine and the Caucasus to begin the invasion and support the German army from there by advancing to the objective in the Caucasus. The Italian expeditionary corps is fully equipped for logistics and has large amounts of anti-tank guns and artillery, but has only 100 airplanes to its name.

Canada

War

War had started, and most every power in the world had answered the call. The King had already mobilized his forces, and Canada would not let her brothers fight alone. Prime Minister King had begun mobilizing troops, and now they were ready to see action.

Orders had been received, and Canada would not fail to obey them. The Royal Canadian Navy was mobilized, beginning to transport troops to Greenland, sending a total of 15,000 troops to rendezvous with the expected British reinforcements. After dropping the men off, the ships would head to the Mid-Atlantic Gap, a strategic supply line point that was necessary to supply allied troops.

The remainder of the navy, transporting 400,000 troops to assist British forces in Africa and Western Europe.

Propaganda would begin to be printed, depicting the Germans as beasts and enemies of all good men. Hopefully, this would attract young men, eager to earn a name for themselves through combat.

THE NATIONAL LEGIONARY STATE OF ROMANIA

Romania is more prepared then ever before. Northern Transylvania has been granted to them. The army marches relentlessly near Bessarabia, Moldavia, and soon, Bukovina. With little Soviet resistance thus far, Antonescu is entirely happy with how the war is going. The people wholeheartedly support the Italian forces marching through the land, taking the newly constructed Bucharest-Prut railroad directly into the now secure front lines. The tricolor flew proudly above the Romanian first, second, third, and fourth armies as they marched in formation across the bridges, breaking cadence in order not to compromise the infrastructure below them. Unsophisticated tanks and artillery followed in the back, drawn by horses, or on rare occasions, expensive German trucks. A path was to be carved by bayonet and bullet, straight to Odessa, a port which would be an asset to the Axis, and more importantly to the National Legionary State.

Odessa-Ukraine.jpg

But Antonescu's hunger for a greater Romania is far from satisfied.

The Vojvods, the Zinzaria (otherwise known as aromanians) and other Dacian peoples lay scattered in minorities all throughout Ukraine, Serbia, Macedonia, and even as far down as northern greece and eastern Albania. Antonescu would unify them all, someday. But now, Ukraine and Moldova were the prizes within closest reach. Antonescu could almost revel in the certain victory that was about to come.

The 400,000 troops stationed at the River Prut would move forward, attacking the Soviet Territory of Bessarabia, also known as Moldova. Their movement would be facilitated by the newly constructed bridges over the Prut, and the Bucharest-Prut railway would serve as the bloodline of the front lines. The construction and fortification of camps and cities along the Moldavian border is initiated. The Romanian war machine would mobilize into war, with it's ally Italy now at it's side.

hqdefault.jpg

Sandbags would be stacked across the cobblestone roads of those seldom passed border villages. Crops, vegetables, and meats would be confiscated as small morsels for the Army, with little resistance, whether from patriotism or from pure fear.  The Romanians hoped to attack Bessarabia and swiftly bring it under control, while simultaneously fortifying possible retreat-locations in order to be prepared for any Russian counter attacks.

However, nothing can be perfect.

Romania had gotten northern Transylvania unprecedentedly. They feared retribution from a now enraged Hungary. 200,000 men had been left in the heartlands for a reason: you could never trust the Magyar. He was an ally one day and a bitter enemy the next, and now that Antonescu had achieved that which he desired, Germany had lost a lot of its appeal. They had betrayed Russia easily. Antonescu was not ruling out the fact that Germany might do the same to them.

And then there were the slight economic problems.

In his fervor to gain Northern Transylvania, Antonescu's unreciprocated trade with Germany had inflated prices at home, albeit not drastically. Still, the advisers of the liderul suprem constantly reminded him that inflation was on the rise all throughout Romania. Something needed to be done. Reciprocation must be asked from Germany.

Hopefully, the Germans would not take offense. The Magyars, were, after all, right there. Politics is truly a double edged blade.

MILITARISTIC ACTIONS

An attack on RUSSIAN TERRITORY: The first and second Romanian armies would be ushered into Bessarabia, together numbering 200,000 men. They would be aided by the third and fourth armies, also jointly number 200,000, until the border of Moldavia, where the first and second armies would remain to guard the existing borders. Antonescu is counting on little resistance from pro-Soviet forces in Bessarabia, but knows for a fact that Bukovina will be different.

TaIEcXx.png

From the border of Bessarabia, the third and fourth armies would then march onwards, with possible italian support to Bukovina, an area of critical importance. Odessa would lie just on the Border of Bessarabia, and would probably prove itself a Russian stronghold that, if toppled, would grant Romania unhindered access to the rest of Bukovina, and more importantly, to the Black sea, to mount a possible attack on the Crimean peninsula.

One step would be made at a time. First, the Romanian army would ATTACK BESSARABIA with its 400,000 men [Mod needed]. With the west in his hands, Antonescu sets upon the east.

ECONOMIC ACTIONS

As trade with Germany would be unprofitable for the Romanians, the Romanian government would ask for reciprocation of trade from the Germans in the form of Airplanes. A Romanian Air Force would facilitate the Romanian push east. In exchange, Romania would continue to give Germany OIL, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS, and GRAIN in bulk

Factories of Artillery and Ammunition would begin construction near Bucharest. With the hope of having a source of tangible income in the future, Romania would closely develop the ammunition and large weapons market.

Girls%20at%20a%20South%20Eastern%20Comma

In northern Transylvania, the assets of the minority businessman class and any remaining jews would be dogged down by a brigade of the Homeland Army. This would hopefully give Romania more money to spend on the short term, but with most jews fleeing and businessmen either sequestrated or leaving, such a source of income is dwindling fast.

SOCIAL ACTIONS

In northern transylvania, Ethnic Magyars would be offered free train fares to Hungary, as long as they decided to leave their property and return to their homeland. Meanwile, the politia sekreta would persecute Magyars from the shadows, plainclothes agents vandalizing Magyar property and publicly lynching Magyars. The government of Romania would claim no responsibility for this.

Propaganda against the slavs would intensify, portraying them as subhuman pigs with insatiable sexual lust and a deep hatred for Romanians. They would be potrayed as steppe bandits, come to steal Romanian land once again.

Romanian%20Jews%20deported%20from%20Doro

Jews, Roma, and Slavs would be relentlessly persecuted, sent to labor in derelict mining camps in southern Romania. Citizens are rewarded 8000 leu, the equivalent of 50 US dollars at the time (800 dollars today). With derelict prices, such contribution would be welcome by the people.

DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS

An emissary is sent to Germany to discuss the possibility of reciprocation of Romanian resources with blueprints for warplanes. The Romanians are enthusiastic about this offer.

An emissary is sent to Turkey, again, in order to forge a trade pact for unhindered access to the Dardanelles. 5% of all profits garnered from trade would be given to Turkish authorities.

An emissary is sent to Hungary. With bitter tension, the Romanian diplomat would ask the Hungarians to do their part and aid in the evacuation of Hungarian citizens from Northern Transylvania.

An envoy is sent to the traveling Italian army. It asks for support in the attack on Bessarabia.

SUMMARY:

-Attack on Bessarabia, Soviet Union by 400,000 Romanian Soldiers from the River Prut[MOD NEEDED]

-Fortification of Romanian Border: town streets blocked with sandbags, outposts constructed, artillery mounted

-Construction of ammunition and artillery factories

-Continued unreciprocated trade of oil, industrial products, and grain to Germany

-Request of reciprocation to Germany: warplane blueprints in exchange for the trade

Telegram from the USA:

Cuba joins the USA as 49th State!

Franklin Delano Roosevelt announced to the public today that the nation of Cuba has decided to integrate itself in the constitutional framework of the United States of America. Despite the dire diplomatic situation for the Allies, Roosevelt cancelled his trip to the British Isles to celebrate with the new Cuban Governor; Edvardo de Santas.

29077444bceb623a2b17d22b6083f0da.png

"We will continue to stand as an undivided and guided nation, as a bulwark of democracy and liberty.  God bless the Cuban people for choosing such a righteous path for being the 49th star on our banner. Let this be a message to all struggling states overseas, we will embark on a journey to empower the dimming light of freedom in the rest of the world. And you, can join us in that journey. God bless the United States of America!"

The Committee of Industry & Logistics immediately prepare the construction of a grand naval yard in the east of the country. Security concerns do arise as various armed militants deserted the Cuban army and turned M.I.A after the integration. A presumed rebel faction would be present,  but the Committee lacked any credible evidence for such a claim

The Soviet Union

e985460a9b20af2724604283ef28c3c0.jpg

The Russian Winter was all that was holding the Germans back from advancing deeper into Russia, The army was broken into isolated secs. The Purge making it more difficult for the younger and less experienced officers to hold their men together as they fought bloody after bloody battle with the Germans.

It seemed as if the Motherland was being attacked from nearly every front, Germans, Romanian, Hungarian. Something had to be done, and fast.

Social Actions

The Soviet High Command as ordered by Jospeh Stalin, Factories and Farms were given quotas to meet the needed requirement to finish the complete mobilization and reorganization of the Soviet Red Army.

Farms that lay spread throughout Russia are given worse penalties then factories, should Farms not be able to meet their quotas the State would take its share and not allow the farms to keep it for themselves.

Diplomatic Actions

The Chinese Communist Party is contacted with the following.
"Dear Comrades, it is unfortunate the situation you find yourselves in, however Russian assistance is not availible at this time. Please stand by until further notice. You will receive assistance at our first available opportunity."

Military Actions

Russian Forces on the Western Fronts are ordered to retreat and regroup except for the forces engaged with German Troops. As by personal order by Joseph Stalin they are too force the Germans to fight for every inch of ground. (POK PLZ)
Russian Forces are ordered to abandon Ukraine and fortify the Border lands of Russian/Ukrainian territory.
Forced Conscription continue to recruit people into the Red Army.

(I apologize for posting late and not as large a detailed post as everyone, i'm rather overwhlemed at the moment, but it'll come around)

Resistance.jpg

La Résistance

Daniel Mayer fought the itch to look behind him. A wrong look these days could mean death. Or worse some argued, capture. Taking a final drag of his cigarette, he flicks it into the street. Nodding to a passing column of Germans, Daniel keeps going. Paris was a large city, and had many different flavors. The particular flavor of this district was foul however. Trash lined the cobbled streets, living trash also called this street home. Before the war, Mayer could of entered any of these houses and been welcomed. Windows would be wide open, children would be running around. A Father and son playing catch here. A pair of lovers strolling down the street. Sadly that was all gone. The Germans had either moved or killed everyone here. After some idiots calling themselves resistance fighters shot up a bar full of drunk German officers. They were of the neighborhood, and were able to spirit away. However the families could not take wing and fly off with their houses. They were unable to soar free, and were punished.

It was idiot moves like that which infuriated Mr. Mayer. He was far more careful, his skin was worth something. He could appreciate the spirit of any resistance fighter. That however did not justify a stupid action. When the armistice was first signed, everyone was shocked. It seemed the Germans were invincible, Hitler's legions of steel. Those were the darkest times, when they first fell. A flickering candle in tempest. The men and women who first stood up, they meant something. If these demons could not be beaten, they'd find a way. It was better to die resisting, rather then kneeling.

Interrupted in his train of thoughts, Daniel reaches his destination. He was deep in the streets of old Paris. You could still find Roman artifacts, even columns. It was a rather lawless place, and dangerous. Thankfully it deterred German patrols. They would only risk it in large and well armed numbers. Also within these slums is the heart of Le Populaire. A socialist newspaper, one of the most popular. From here the resistance could publish news and propaganda. It was also from here that Mr. Mayer led his cell. From all walks of the city, his was an odd bunch. Though most were socialist, many were also not. Daniel was not one to discriminate, he needs every tool he can get.

Later that day large bundles pamphlets are sent out from the old district. Propoganda spreads through Paris. Most of it in the time old French manner. La Populaire portrays a blend of logic and romanticism of resisting occupation. No distinct Resistance group is mentioned, merely the act of resisting. Besides this new spread of propaganda, the resistance host a meeting.

Daniel Mayer is just one of many influential figures at the meeting. Using no real names, they met in the warrens of the old city. Organization was lacking, and was a serious problem. For now though, all they could do is grow. The members of the resistance agree on focusing on organizing their own cells. From there they would begin to work on a wider net work. They would act independently, and have no knowledge of other cell's day to day doings. One act they do work together however is to form a commando team. Titled Les Commandos, they would be each Cell's best men. Most of the resistance is not militarily trained. They were working on that to, however. For now they would need small teams of specialist.

With the plans of their resistance started, other matters are settled on. A team of resistance members are smuggled through France to the Pyrenees. From there they have a long trek through the mountains. Their eventual destination will be Catalonia. The French resistance will begin talking to Catalan independence factions. They hope to set up a deal. They ask that Catalan rises up when the time is right. In return Free France and the resistance will provide aid. They will smuggle in modern weapons and officers for the Catalans.  The same deal is offered to Navarre, another independent leaning province. De Gaulle and his government  promises France will recognize their sovereignty after the war. They will convince the Allied nations to do the same. A true communist, known by Lenin also goes with them. He will travel the countryside, to seek out communist. Many are dead or gone, but many also are in hiding. He begins to plan a communist rising, as secretly as possible. [Mod please]

(Sorry for the late responce, have been caught up in school and Mount and Blade)

Otto Von Wachter, being the Nazi "overseer" of Ukraine told the small government of the caucas. Many were sent without any trouble, as lots of people wanted to leave the war-torn country.  They were all sent to the German Border with a convoy made up of the Ukrainian military.  The Ukrainian Auxillary Force, along with many citizens formed into a militia, began marching to the Russian border. They soon began to destroy the abandoned houses in the he area, and started constructing a make-shift barricade. Otto contacted the German government and asked for some assistance in protecting the border in case of a Soviet counter-attack. The small groups of Ukraine insurgents began to employ gourilla tactics and started to hunt down and publicly execute any stragglers of the Soviet retreat. The small countries actions would hopefully inspire other countries of their capabilities.
