Evening friends, hope you’re all swell tonight! It’s a bit odd, thinking I’m going to be the one posting the thread that I normally rush to try and get first on, honestly. But either way, I doubt anyone even gives one, so let’s get onto what this post’s really about:

 

The Dungeon Crawler Initiative

 

After asking around a bit, I found that people actually wanted a competition / event that was actually RP orientated - not everyone’s a spam click god with 240 FPS, so I thought I’d try appeal to those toaster PC players with a knack for eloquent words they love typing out. And so, I come here tonight with the new DCI project that I’m going to work on. In essence, it’s going to be a series of dungeons that different groups can sign up for and do as they please in their own ‘instance’. Yes, like WoW. The idea is that the entirety of the build is intractable with and you’ll have to think outside of the box at times. And it won’t exactly be clear what it is you have to do, either. You’ll have a reasonable time limit to complete the instance before you’re kicked out and considered a failure. Finally, groups will enter with no equipment (bar maybe one or two special RP items as exceptions) and will have limited resources within the dungeon to complete it.

 

As a disclaimer, this first dungeon is a test to see if something like this can succeed on LoTC in its current state or not, hence why it may be a bit short. I’ve had a limited amount of time to ask others to help build and work on this all, as well as scrounge actors up. Hopefully, all goes well and we’ll see near monthly additions to the dungeons, with new themes and puzzles/fights to complete each time.

 

How to join in the fun!

 

Simply put forth your group with the below application to sign up! Groups are limited to three people max!

Since this is still a trial, no entrance fee will be charged. The prize for this particular dungeon is going to be 450 Minas to split between your group and an assortment of other items.

 

To start, simply contact me sometime with all your group online and I’ll lock you in and prep the instance to go! I'll be closing the dungeon at about Mid-day GMT next Sunday.

I've gotta be honest, that sounds like a lot of fun. Will all of the dungeons be pretty puzzle based, or will there be different types of dungeons that would require different skillsets from the player as well as the character?
