Jesus Christ a ******* hunting profession will take all the possible complexity and detail out of it and just turn it into running at mobs while clicking, my inner redneck is displeased with this. I feel like that's kind of unfair. You can de-value every part of the server, sans roleplay, down to random clicking. Lumberjacking? Nope, just holding down your mouse button under a floating tree. Mining? Just strip-mining a giant 5000x5000 cube. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be caught out in the middle of the wilderness, at night, and unprepared. So long as it's handled properly (that is, mobs don't spawn right on top of you are you're travelling and developed/well-lit areas are safe) then I think it'd be a fine addition back to the server. thaddeus11 75 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Sure, however, if you're going to do it, then make sure you stay active doing it... Usually we introduce things, and then nothing happens. Look at the bounty system, that was fun, and then the ET got lazy. Really, I think this should be driven by people who are permitted by an app like process, maybe prove you know about the lore about the creature, as well as coming up with a good idea for the boss event and if you do, with some talk beforehand in planning it, then do the boss event. I for one, remember the amazing amounts of times in which mid-way through just saying 'Hail, traveler!' on the road, I'd be half-way dead by a zombie honed on my ass. Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Hunting would be a rather neat thing but I feel as if It shouldn't be something to add to the nexus, as the nexus in a whole is already a kinda burdon to the once more rp than grinding for pvp crafts server, I think it's not needed to make hunting a profession as it just turns it into a game more than roleplay, when its left to the ET to do the whole event thats when it becomes more rp for a party rather than hunting down animals with fancy plugins, though it's a neat idea. As for bosses I believe that it would be a cool addition to the whole dungeon craft except for the fact that it would all be pvp related, a lot of the time mages would be nullified and any rp at all would be nullified, my view for that whole kind of plugin would be just a hack and slash at a confined mob with a lot of hp and then getting some cool pvp gear as a drop, turning it more into some minecraft mmorpg really.. I can already imagine taking a night off with a few Sirame officers and relaxing the Ame way, with a hunt! Of course, ET hunts should be bigger and better, but I'd really like to sometimes do a laid back hunt with just my group, and no ETs present and trying to conduct the hunt a specific way. Some of us do not have the vivid imaginations of the Edict members, and need a mechanical representation! Of course, as with ALL nexus professions, it should not affect PvP in any way. I've always said, give us small MC items with big RP meaning. Anyway, I'm not sure if I like the Hunting Profession itself, or just the fact that we get mob-spawning! DrakeHaze. 2524 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Don't mean to be a buzzkill but I can't see a real.. Use for this profession outside of its legitimate fun aspect/rpg style class. Different hides and leathers from zombies, other mobs and bosses. What would these hides do? Are they a requirement for better gear for leatherworkers? Voting already gives animal eggs, how will hunted animals be any different? Will hunters be able to tame beasts like the MyPet plugin which would in turn take away from Aether vip? I want to see the benefit of this profession, I really do but I'd like a bit more clarification. Screenshots, video examples of its uses and what not. Krism 67 Share Posted August 1, 2016 Alright. I think the idea is very cool like a lot of other people, but i can also see why you would be afraid that it will take away from RP. I think you can have normal mobs spawning as we had once back in the day, just with some simple drops for the players willing to kill them, a few minas, an iron ingot rarely, some bad tools. Here maybe having the hunting skill could give you some advantages over other players without it. For bosses, i think these should be restricted for the ET. Like they would organize a hunt, BUT WAIT, to track down the beast you would need to have a hunter of x level, and then the people who would want to take part in the hunt would just follow the hunter. Also having the ET control the bosses means it won't have to always just be a mob you fight in PVP as the boss, but it could also be an actor, and the party would have to fight it RP. I think a system like this would be great, having bosses available for anyone at anytime would simply take away from RP and make the server a little to much like WoW, in my opinion.
