This is a very good idea, and will help the Orcs decide upon a Huntsgoth more easily.

To clarify I don't dislike the idea of turning on mob spawns, I just don't like the idea of adding more mmorpg skills and adding mini-boss mobs so ET have less work to do.

We don't need a skill for everything.

We complain about nexus, crafting, professions, and such limiting us;

In response we get a recommendation for a profession release revolving around killing mobs, which is one of the main points of minecraft as a base game, as well as a great way for income for players new and old, once mobs are turned back on.

Unless there is no limit to how many professions you can take, I think this is a **** idea.

And Smawton has a very valid point; hunting, or 'Votar' is an integral part of Orcish society, as well as W.Elvish. This skill will add more to my personal immersion.

I'd very much like to return to hunting on my kha instead of having to try get an et each time.

Giving players the ability to fight mobs if they want? Yeah, that's okay. I'd be into that myself, even. That sounds fun.

But I come here for RP, and every time mobs have been enabled, it's been almost impossible to do it. Please, I want to be able to go places in peace. Go AFK without fear. RP without having things interrupted by some random undead dude walking around in some completely unfitting cranny of the world. Unless it's an actual player.

And the way minecraft works, it doesn't matter if they spawn near you or not. Because they wander. And they will wander toward you. And if you hit one of them, they all lock onto your position.

I'm one of those players who thinks PvP is bad and disruptive when not everyone wants it. And so do a lot of other people on my side of the niche. And you think that adding randomly spawning, bloodthirsty robots that aren't even good at fighting is going to sit well with that?

I can't think of any situation that this would add to RP, only detract. I can see someone going out to hunt things, yeah, but then it'd be "There's one," *some initiating combat emote if they have time* "Phew, we're such good hunters." *emote skinning/looting/whatever the corpse* all done on a tight deadline so they don't miss the half hour spawning period or get swamped while they're typing.

Can you elaborate on how the skill would work? You don't really talk about the skill itself, just say that it is a thing. Can't vote on something you have no information on. Unless it's Trump.

The skill just revolves around killing mobs, hostile and peaceful. As you level up the skill you'll be able to craft special hunting items to allow you to mechanically take prey down more easily, and also rp items that can assist you when participating in hunts. You'll also be able to craft traps which can be placed anywhere in the world which can catch a mob. We also plan on adding in new foods and pelts that only hunters can acquire from skinning and inspecting slain animals. Bosses were added as something for high level hunters to take on, but from current feedback it'll be changed so anyone can fight them, but a high level hunter will be needed to track one down.

Will the AI on wild mobs be more difficult to kill than on breeded ones? For example a pig would be realtively easy to slaughter in a pen as they are use to human company, but would the animals in they wild have more health/ attack you/ run away more easily?

Yea we want to have some wild animals that would have some custom AI, for example a brown sheep in the wild = a deer, and if you get near it, it'll run away if you're not sneaking, small stuff like that

Is it possible to make mobs wear mc heads?

Why don't you use mythic mobs plugin. Is has all you need, you can create custom mobs, custom drop loot to ties with crafting, use it for dungeons and caves of animals, literally makes custom boss mobs as well. You can make mobs look and act differently

with mythic mobs there's only a very general kind of custom ai such as changing what the mobs target etc. if you want more in-depth stuff you have to write your own

Will these mobs be given custom textures or? Cause aparently you can assign textures from a resource pack to different varients of mobs.

for now sticking with the default look, in 1.10 there's a new variant for zombie and skeleton so that gives me some more stuff to work with, but yea, a good idea for the future
