I. INTRODUCTION

On behalf of the Imperial Office of Administration and the Minister of the Interior, the Holy Orenian Empire has issued an official citizenship system in order to better organize and serve the Empire’s people. Citizenship shall come with certain benefits and restrictions dependent upon the class of citizenship obtained.

II. CLASSES OF CITIZENSHIP

 

The Holy Orenian Empire has established three classes of citizenship that citizens can belong to. Each class has its own requirements and perks attributed to it.

 

1. Class A Citizenship

Class A Citizenship is reserved for the nobility and royalty of the Empire. Class A citizens have no restrictions and are granted rights of full citizenship. Only Class A Citizens are allowed to hold a noble title. The requirements for Class A Citizenship are:

1. Noble or Royal blood.

2. Residence within the Empire.

3. Oath of loyalty to Emperor. ((In-Character & OOC Oath with PK clause))

4. 500 mina processing fee.

 

2. Class B Citizenship

Class B Citizenship is reserved for those wishing to have full citizenship within the Empire minus the privileges given to Class A Citizens. Class B Citizens are allowed to own businesses, own property outside of municipalities, and are permitted to hold public office. The requirements for Class B Citizenship are:

1. Residence within the Empire.

2. Oath of loyalty to Emperor. ((In-Character Oath with NO perma clause))

 

 

3. Foreigners

For the purpose of this document foreigners shall be defined as persons that reside within the Empire and do not hold citizenship or hold citizenship in a foreign nation and reside within the Empire. Foreigners are afforded the same protections under the law as citizens though may be taxed at a higher rate. Foreigners are NOT allowed to:

1. Serve as an officer in the military.

2. Hold public office.

3. Hold a noble title.

4. Own land exceeding 200 sq. meters within the Empire.

III. CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION

To apply for citizenship within the Empire please fill out the form below and mail it to your local Imperial Citizenship Bureau ((post a reply in this topic)).

 

 

IV. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q: Is Citizenship required?

A: Citizenship is NOT required within the Empire for non-Nobility though is recommended as it allows some perks such as lower taxes and ability to hold public office or join any Imperial regiment or otherwise. In addition, guards might look more favorably upon you if you're a shady person and you're trying to enter a city.

 

Q: I'm a Noble, must I have citizenship?

A: YES! Nobility are required to have at least Class B citizenship.

 

Q: Will we get 'passports' in-game?

A: Yes, provided enough books and supplies are acquired. With the knockout plugin it is much more feasible to use actual in-game passports with citizenship information on it. Word on this will be announced later.

 

Q: Who do I pay the processing fee to?

A: The fee is to be paid to the Imperial Chancery, headed by the Archchancellor ((John Owyn, [Cruzazul8])). Make sure you link a screenshot of your payment with your citizenship application.

 

Q: Will guards have access to the citizenship list?

A: Yes! Guards will be able to access the citizenship list either here or on a GDoc to aid in their policing duties (such as gate duty and making arrests). The reasoning behind this is that lists are RPly distributed to all guards.

 

Q: I've aged or had my physical appearance changed, must I submit another application?

A: Yes, though you can just copy the previous application and add the updated information. To make archiving easier please include a note somewhere in the header of the application that it is an update. Note: You'll only need to update your citizenship information if your appearance changes dramatically through age (figure every 10-20 years) or by physical changes (losing an arm, hair dyed a different color, tattoos, etc.). No further processing fee is required.

 

Q: Does this apply to only the current Emperor?

A: No your oaths apply for all Emperors to come as well.

 

Q: Should peasants apply for citizenship?

A: It is recommended that peasants apply for Class B Citizenship.
