The Stirling Leaflet

Recommended Posts

It is a calm day. Suddenly, thousands of short leaflets begin to rain from above, all crudely distributed yet finely printed and written. The parchment falls nearby, reading:

THE STIRLING LEAFLET

It is with a focused and fervent mind I write this document for the people. Before I begin with my views and opinions I must state that I do not seek conflict or debate amongst my peers through the use of parchment and quill. I will simply use this document to state my claims and be on my way, vanishing behind a wall of text that will give me power in the world. Never again will I use my power to attempt change, as it is obvious a balance is in place.

I have made many mistakes, my dear readers. But I will accept them and their consequences; however, I will not accept destruction or violence towards myself or my family so long as I live, this essay as my witness.

THE AFFAIR

Many have stated in the past that I am one to make poor decisions based on limited intuition and knowledge of what I will be effecting. This is true. To the world I publicly admit that I, Azoth Hawksong, engaged in a dubious affair with Cheza Stirling with her husband - Katari Stirling - having a complete knowledge of it as well as Cheza’s private lover: Dael’ran of the Ascended Order. I committed this act knowing full well the consequences of my actions.

From our time together, Cheza Stirling was given the gift of life in her womb. This young child is mine and I have vowed to protect and raise it as its father until it is of a mature age. This, however, has sparked conflict from both of Cheza’s former partners. Katari Stirling has instigated violent attacks on Cheza and threatened both our child and I. Dael’ran informed the Ascended Order who dealt with me accordingly for my breach of Brotherhood. Nevertheless, our child is at risk from these people as we go forward, Dael’ran far less so than Katari.

Katari Stirling has an unprecedented power over Cheza and I fear he may use his powers as the leader of the Izkuthii - yes, their leader - to harm the child. To him I simply write that I will protect this child to the ends of this world, even from a mentally fractured dark being like himself. This Izkuthii, dear readers, has lost his sanity and developed multiple personalities. His most violent one - Wethrin - has even began a relationship as I am told with the Justicar of the Ascended Order, Selina Demones. This by itself is damning to me and leads me to my next point.

THE ASCENDED

The Ascended Order has been my family since the days of Athera and the war against Iblees’ Undead forces. I have made many friends and allies, and yet enemies against me seem to grow daily. I will openly admit that I am an immature elf with a heart of gold and love for playing jokes on my kinsmen. And yet will all my tomfoolery I have never caused the Order to step backwards from anything more than a poor decision. Among my critic’s complaints are my incident which allowed us to leave the original Holy League and this affair with Dael’ran in the middle. The first was simply an incident with the now deceased Ian Waveharp losing his mind and attempting to harm me after a group of us were playing around with joking intentions. The other did not affect the Order and I openly admitted to that failure on my part. Never have I directly harmed the Order, only allowed it to blossom due to my stringent focus on documentation in Vailor as well as my recruitment numbers as the Sage of Silver Sect in Axios. And yet those as well as my many achievements in collecting information, leading forces to defeat dark creatures, and retrieving lost artifacts go unnoticed by the lot. It is repulsive.

Not to mention that many of the claims given to the Master Sage of the Ascended on my misconduct are intentionally false. Creating stories of me attacking other Ascended when it was a friendly duel or - more recently - a bet for a warded necklace and crystal. The confidence in my abilities and sanity as a Sage have fallen due to these false accusations from individuals with vendettas against me: Selina Demones for the Holy League affair as well as giving up on her advances of romantic interest, and Belestram for harming Dael’ran and his pride which I apologize profusely for.

Yet you will never hear of these incidents nor the truth of it all. This is because the Order has become obsessed with image instead of duty. The Ascended help and shelter multiple dark creatures in their midst with little to no intention of helping cleanse them. They do this to get information yet are unbelievably upset when a Sage wishes to not slay other dark beings but help save their souls! Even going as far as to order execution on deformed mortals and pardons for Shades and Necromancers.

This is not the Order I joined. And this is not the fault of an incompetent leader but a borderline corrupt council of mentally unstable psychopaths underneath one of the best, damn Ascended in history.

THE CONCLUSION

It is with this final thought that I leave you, dear readers. Aswell, I leave the Ascended Order for good yet seek no path towards being disconnected from Aeriel’s Light. They will hunt me for this, but I will not renounce my values and power for doing good simply because they cannot see what they have allowed to fester in themselves. I will remain in the public eye through my pages, but not through my actions. No more.

With that, I bid you farewell. And to those who wish me harm, I will defend myself and my family.

Alirya sighed then rubbed her hand as she finished reading the paper, "Just when I thought unity was coming for the good of people... I do not understand why people put their genital pleasure before their duty, the duty they are bound at the soul to uphold."

Izier Vincrute, Highlord of the Brotherhood of Xan, sighed reading the paper, crumpling it into a ball throwing it into the fire.

"Well then... Either more lies... Or more secrets from the Ascended... The Brotherhood will get to the bottom of this..."

"Degeneracy from the Elfen as usual. Iblees made a poor choice cursing them with infertility, should have cursed them with a lack of genitalia instead." grumbles Tarkus from within the Teutonic Order's keep. Tossing the trash into a fire.

Benjamin crosses his arms as he scans over the leaflet, one brow perking slightly and features twitching with contained laughter. He clears his throat and bites his tongue to keep from chuckling, turning to continue on his way.

"Literally disgusting, but yeah I mean it's obvious they're all monsters I mean come on." Muttered an archon, it's gloves crumpling the useless parchment. It would then linger off, where ever it was.

"Well he's never gonna be President, now." chimes a Shade, horribly familiar with Azoth.

The grey robed, hooded figure known as Rynch crouches to pick a leaflet, reading over briefly as it held the paper between two gauntleted fingers, with two more figures of similar clothing behind it.

   "Hrmh..."

The figure produces a nigh-distorted, thick hum of thought, before it slowly shifts its hood to the side, to glance at one of the two others.

   "Azoth... Hawsong.."

It utters, as the other dips its head in the form of a brief nod. Rynch shifts its attention back at the leaflet, as lines of smoke starts to rise from the paper, as the figure rotated its wrist to hold the leaflet horizontally. Dark purple, glowing, twisted fire starts to consume the piece of paper, as ebon spots started appearing atop it before it gets reduced into nothing but ash, before the figure lets it drop onto the ground.

With a gesture made with Rynch's head towards the road, the trio start back onto their path, with gentle clanks rising from their forms with each step.

In some random location Cheza starts swatting at Azoth with one of his own leaflets while their daughter laughs in delight at the silly sight.
