Ologs to CA and Orc Speech proposal.

So to start off, people have already tried to make speech reforms, but recently, people have been talking about someone that is true and must happen.

Aside from the speech reform I’m going to propose, we also have the Olog proposal.

The olog proposal would be making Ologs, the sub-race of uruks, into a creature that requires an app.

Why is that necessary?

To start off, ologs, if roleplayed correctly, can be overpowered for a race that you can just create. They’re size and they’re strenght battle against their dumbness and sheer innocence. Their pros and cons are polar opposites, and a sub-race that can do what an olog can do, is not supposed to be a sub-race.

How would the CA be done?

The CA would be done without the ‘Creator’ and ‘Are you dropping any magic apps’ sections, with the lore part requiring physical explanation, pros, cons and a small bit of lore.

What about existing ologs?

Existing ologs would be asked to make a CA and post it in the forums, and await for an LT’s approval to continue Roleplaying said olog.

Speech Reform:

This is going to be similar to the one done by Mullraug a couple of months ago. As it stands, orcs sound like mentally retarded children trying to learn how to speak.

“Whu em lat?”

Not to take in consideration those that butcher even more.

“Whu um laht?”

The proposal would be to tone down a bit. Lore-wise, uruks just speak like that thanks to their tusks. Does it really need to be that extreme? I mean, it’s okay exchanging c to k and the s to z, but the extra H’s and the unnecessary butchering of a word (Complicated can be turned into Kohmplykeyted) sounds awful, and for new players, hard to learn.

Reforming the speech would not only bring more people to the orcish community, but leaving it easier for people to understand and to write.

The reform would be:

  1. Maintain the current C-K and S-Z system.

  2. Tone down word butchering (Complicated = Komplikayted)

  3. Tone down the use of U’s in place of O’s (Why does Who become Whu?)

As the team has stated a few times in the past, we aren't going to be enforcing orcs speaking one way or the other and there have been reforms made by orc players to have orcs tone the use of blah down so that it's easier on newer people and whatnot from my understanding which have been relatively accepted.

That being said, we'll watch this thread and see how the community reacts to the idea of olog CAs prior to discussing it ourselves.

olog players are pretty scarce, and let's be honest

CAs are huge bothers to type

so it is inevitable that the player amount who plays an Olog will be reduced from 3 to maybe 2 or even 1

but either way, ologs are mostly seen as "i have infinite strength but my speech is impaired", so this might be a suitable idea

I asked for something like this back in Vailor after a situation where I could have gotten in a fight with an olog. I realized that if that player had decided to actually attack my character, there was no way, RP or PvP, that I alone was going to win, and that's not something that players should have access to by simply making a new character.

Ologs should have a creature app. The point isn't to restrict players from playing Ologs or give them a loop they have to jump through, its to ensure that people understand that OLOGS are not juggernauts only there for pvp buff. Ologs are mentally deficient mutants that pretty much need a handler or they end up either powergaming, becoming intelligent to a certain degree, pvp only or due to being so dumb they generate meme roleplay and possibly delving into something absolutely more degenerate which is having an Olog mate with something other than an Orc/Olog.

Ologs are creatures, they are handled by Orcs and have their uses. Being PVP personas or rhino hung sexual deviants should not be one of them.

Definitely yes on the Olog CA.

The blah issue is entirely up to the playerbase to resolve, if it is even an issue to begin with that is.

Its not an issue, is more about people saying that the current speech makes us look like retarded people with extra size and bigger tooth

About the orc speech thing, yes the language may be a bit hard, and yes people butcher it, but changing it won't do much.

About the olog CA thing, I fully agree. People powergame ologs all the time, and it annoys me- they just enjoy being strong and don't care about the whole innocent and unaware of their surroundings part.

Lemme talk about this.

Firstly, blah has never been manditory. Feel free to speak however you want in all honesty, some may get upset, but just pop a small accent on it if it gets annoying.

Secondly, Olog CA's I'm hesitant about due that they're the smallest playerbase/never played, but I want to avoid new players or pvpers from playing ologs since they dont' really understand it/want to abuse pvp buffs.  If people were more active on ologs and this abuse was more prevalent,. I'd be 100% for it, but there aren't enough cases to do such. Wouldn't a villany blacklist on powergaming olog solve all of the problems?

Hola! Okay, okay! Blah speech is not enforced anymore, and there have been threads in the past about this! Though, if some orcs are getting aggressive because another orc does not have the accent, or too small of an accent, you should educate them of this and be like, "Hey! Stop it! No!"

As for Olog CA, sure! Ologs are a powerful sub-race. They also could potentially be easily powergamed. I have seen some Ologs that have questionable knowledge -- too smart is what I'm trying to say. I read somewhere here of someone saying blacklist, but those would require GMs to look into the RP and players arguing among each other. Kinda like a ban report... maybe. I'unno the process! CA seems like a much safer route, regardless of the low activity. If someone wants to play a race, they should read up on it and understand how it works. That's a responsibility we hold as players, to read-up and comprehend the bulk of what we RP.
