15th of the First Seed, 1639

The traitorous ploy to capture the Prince Kairn of the Elberu'cinhir had failed, for his Bronze Elves and Reiter Mercenaries had ridden with him, and came to his defense. A frenzy of steel and bronze blades was unleashed, and the clarion horns of the Restrained sounded high throughout the city. As the rebellious soldiers fled through the gates, Rhillen the Tilruir'tir unleashed torrents of Alchemist's Fire and watched as his own people burned, massive windswept clouds of flame engulfing their own soldiers, bleating and dying as their scorched bones fell to the ground.

The last of the treasonous forces were cut down, both the Reiters and the Bronze converged on the port once again, some even throwing up their swords in glee from the victory. “Sic semper tyrannis," the Prince called to the adherents, and raised his blade aloft as he dragged Varenthal’s corpse out of the city. Soon after, a letter reaches the remainder of the Silver Council.

By virtue of this missive I say unto you, Decadent Council of Haelun'or, that by my blade you shall abide, wither you will, and I care not whether it is beside or beneath it. Your defeat upon the field of flame has proven that which is known across all Elvendom- that the Elves of Silver ply in treason as a dwarf deals in minas, but lack the fortitude to defend the lands which are granted to them. You are but shadows of your past hegemony, and shame ought dwell heavily upon your citadel, for you have proven yourself incapable of even the lowest, basest treason. Kalenz weeps in hell, knowing that his legacy is in the hands of Varenthal the “Astute”, whose head rolled down the steps of your city in disgrace.

The Elves of Silver are irrelevant, and as such I will not seek you out to destroy you, lest you grant me reason- for I am not a barbarian, and love neither violence nor subjugation. But nor will I tolerate further deceit, for ever have I despised rats who dwell in shadows and interfere in the dealings of greater Elves. If you attempt to do so again I will enter your city a final time and lay it to utter ruin; your precious silver will be traded to Dwarves, and your glittering fountains will water the horses of my band as they raze your hive of petty villainy to the ground. By flame and steel I shall repay your insolence.

I will not tolerate further machinations. Keep out of the Dominion or die in agony,

Prince Kairn of Leyulin;

Lord of the Bronze Rite

and Master of the Berucinhir Revolt

The Princely Council of Leyulin

Kairn whistles a Savoyard tune, stringing up a stitched together carcass.

Karyssmov smiles lightly at the rebuking of the traitorous high elves, almost considering sending a giftbasket to the Prince.

"What were they thinking? Traitorous snakes."

Lans rides to Calais in the company of his compatriots, the Reiters, as coin would pound and ring with the gallop of synchronous hooves. Bloodied though not battered, the mercenaries would find solace where they thankfully receive their earned coin.

"The Prince has deep pockets." he'd posit with an expression of success as he'd distribute their earnings. "Where there's coin, there are Reiters." he'd boast, conclusively.

Bolivar sat behind his desk, far away from what was once the haze of bore in his day to day; he held in his hands the first decree from his new lord. Gone were the days of relentlessly patrolling Devirad, and the constant fear of what horrendous magic the next criminal he encountered would have.. Today his day consisted almost entirely of paperwork and training; summoning mist twice a day, and cutting up bits of wood placed to look like people. He had finally achieved the peak of all men's dreams, a desk job.

Surely he knew that conflict was just around the corner, after all why would Lord Karin want someone of his talents? However, Bolivar found himself accustomed to the leisure and simple pleasures of his new life. In his hands, he read the first decree of Lord Karin; and knew that his vacation had come to an end. A thin sigh would escape his lungs as he stood from his desk and made his way back out to the docks. Hopefully, he thought; druids wouldn't be nearly as much of a nuisance as the spooks.

A tall elf sits in his tavern, petting a peacock-cat fusion, looking at the letter,

"Well that's not very nice. Why do people always take things to the extreme? Didn't Kairn literally say he wanted to castrate and draw and quarter our leader? Why would anyone support such a violent person? Silliness, I say."

He crumples up the missive, tossing it into the fire, before locking up his inn, and heading off into the city toward a softly glowing keep.
