I'm not really that into the whole war part of the server but this seems pretty cool for the people who like it!

Battlefields will last for a six hour period on the following days… Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

wtf, who wants to fight three times a week six hours straight? I have a job and college this summer, can only imagine how bad it'd be once school is in again.

Only thing broken with warclaims are the war rules, the classic warclaim system is perfectly functional as is. Warclaims are maybe a 1-3 hour commitment on the weekend at an agreed upon time, and that's pretty exhausting. Having to drag that over the weekdays for 6 hours apiece sounds downright nightmarish. Warzones could be conducted similar to this for advantages in skirmish and siege warclaims, rather than determining the overall war.

Overall though, I'm not looking forward to spending 12-18 hours fighting each week just to get to a siege.

PvPers want to fight three times a week... Maybe the timing of six hours can change since thats a bit too long. But I would love to PvP three times a week.

Looks interesting. Though I don't know if I'm reading this wrong; will there no longer be fort/keep sieges? And only the capital of a nation?

Hence why warzones exist. It needn't **** over people with commitments.

Why not have the fighting take place Friday/Saturday/Sunday, instead of spread out across the week?

In addition, is there any way these battles could take place in the real world? I'm personally not a fan of this whole new era of having battles take place on separate servers. I miss the days when you could actually escape the battle alive even if your side loses, or that some random guy can just accidentally happen on a huge battle taking place. The lag shouldn't be too intense now that the fighting is a lot more spread out.

It's worth a try, though I agree with others that it sounds like it might be inconvenient for people with jobs/school to attend regularly. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this project and hopefully utilize the community feedback- good idea overall.

saturday and sunday 2 hours each of this battlefield concept of yours. Winner gets siege the following week.

One thing that is extremely overlooked on LOTC is the "state of war". LoTC rules have notoriously done a good job at making sure wars dont feel like wars outside of the Saturday war claims. Make raid rules between two warring nations less restrictive, make people think twice before engaging in a war with someone stronger than them instead of being able to rally a PVP army for their 1 day of conflict.

Also, this system should be scrapped entirely. Easily one of most unnecessary things I've seen on LoTC, the literal definition of excess waste.

From the perspective of someone who hasn't really looked at the war system in depth since February-ish (so feel free to disregard if I'm overlooking something), a large part of dissatisfaction with wars comes from the rule side of things.

Things like the official alliance rule seem pretty not great to me and others have well-articulated gripes with CBs. I can testify to the latter; its genuinely a process like a legal matter, riddled with complexities, dependant on wordplay and burdened with certain rules and clauses that are vague and sometimes even nonsensical.

You could address these more significant issues by getting rid of literal pretend red tape like the alliance rule, and perhaps take an alternate approach to CBs. Maybe simplify the process, but look at reducing the outcome of war from total destruction so nations won't fight tooth and nail to deny CBs and you're not left with a lot of unhappy and displaced players.

Obviously its not quite as simple as that but my point here is that this isn't really addressing the problem with wars. This update is fine. Just OK. It doesn't tackle any of the obvious issues with the war system that are upsetting people.

There are already a few warclaims going up through out this week and weekend so it would be dumb to have 2 warclaims on one day
