Hello everyone,

 

I've been working on a project for the past few weeks to help improve the way that the war system works. The currently skirmish/warzone system is outdated and quite frankly doesn’t work to its full potential. I’ve attended skirmishes and even warzones in the past, I've heard your concerns and decided to do something about it.

 

So… What has Knox been up to?

 

Entering… Project Danehammer, this project will remove warzones and skirmishes all together and blends them into what I am calling ‘battlefields’ though whether or not the project goes through after trial is subject to community feedback. Rather than running into a warzone clicking each other to death pointlessly for loot I've come up with an entire new system i’m excited to share with you all.

 

The Idea
Three battlefields, three different terrains, and three sites within the battlefields that you have to claim… The objective is pretty simple, you gather up your friends when the battlefield opens up, run in and claim as many sites as you can, whoever holds the sites for the longest period of time wins. 
Battlefields will last for a six hour period on the following days… Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The leaders of the war claims may communicate with themselves what time work best (I strongly encourage changing the times around, this way everybody gets a chance to take part) 
I have also decided to add a cool-down on when you can return to battle, this will be automated and set for 10 minutes. For trial purposes this has been turned off.

 

How it will work
When war claiming a nation you must first submit the route you intend to make, the game moderation team will then use the route you intend to take and mark out three different areas along the road you must fight on, if the initial battle was won by the attackers, a second week of battlefields will take place closer to the defenders capital. If then the attackers have won again, there will be a weeks rest for both parties before the siege finally takes place. 
Just a friendly reminder… make sure your buddies stay near the point site otherwise it’ll revert to neutral!

 

How does this benefit you?
To put quite simply, I don’t know many people who like the current system, the lag, the crashes, how quick they are before being concluded… This idea adds a bit more risk to both sides, encourages teamwork and gives you a real purpose to fight!

 

Other notes
Battlefields will take place on the war server, a vast majority of this will be automated, making it as stress free as possible.
Hopefully this solves the war server crashes and player lag within the battlefields
This is only in its trial stage, we have only built one battlefield due to this. It will be open Monday 18th June (4pm EST - 9pm GMT) , Wednesday 20th of June (3pm EST - 8pm GMT) and finally Friday the 22nd (6pm EST - 11pm GMT) 
A feedback post will be created afterwards so you may express your thoughts and opinions on this idea.
Armour/food/weapons will not be spawned in for this event, enter at your own risk.

So what happens if the Attacker win one and lose the other? Is it a best out of three system?

Also does this mean Skirmishes are not a thing anymore, aka a field battle before a siege? Meaning this just replaces that?

why cant we just go back to how warclaims were during asulon/anthos

I'm not really that into the whole war part of the server but this seems pretty cool for the people who like it!
