Why do Vanders fight?

"The legacy of a man is not determined by how many battles he has won, or how many sons he has fathered, but rather, it is determined by how many battles he has lost in the name of GODANI, and how many sons he has lost in his name" -An unknown faith militant

Two figures would begin to appear more and more visible outside the gates of the Dominion of Malin. Clad in red, dirt and blood splattered and caked onto their uniform and helmet, they stood at attention, and pressed their fist at their heart. Shouting the names of GODANI, and a prayer to the many saints that could have walked the realms, they would extend their hand outwards. The White Rose salute, in all its glory, was done rebelliously outside of the gates.

"We speak the words of God, hear us now, daemon-folk!

We devote our life to these values, these tenants!

To fear the Creator, and maintain His Church,

To serve the liege lord in valour and faith,

To refrain from the wanton giving of offence,

To live by honour and for glory,

To despise pecuniary reward,

To obey those placed in authority,

To guard the honour of fellow Vanders,

To keep faith,

To at all times to speak the truth,

To perservere to the end in any enterprise begun,

To never to refuse a challenge from an equal,

To never to turn the back upon a foe."

Abhorred by this, a lone snow elf would confront the man. Unknowing of the two's belief in GOD, the CHURCH, the SEVEN SKIES, and all that is HOLY, he would mock them with the tongue of a daemon and a fiend,

"I am of Orenian blood, holy ser. But all that is glory within these veins is wasted unto me, with the blood of the true blessed people tainted by those forgotten and unwanted by GODANI, an elf. I test you and your faith, that you can not even recite TWO names of the BLESSED SAINTS!"

The human would reply in turn:

"Saint Julia of Paradisus,

Saint Joren of Paradisus,

Saint Daniel of Al'Khazar,

Saint Everad the First of Al'Khazar,

Saint Tobias of Sarkoz,

Saint Lucien the First of Ulmsbottom,

Saint Adrian of Leuvaarden,

Saint Otto of Vanderfell,

Saint Charles of Haense,

Saint Michael of Chordobe,

Saint Emma of Woldzmir,

Saint Henry Otto of Alban,

Saint Kristoff of Hanseti,

Saint Johannes de Rutyer,

Saint Malcolm of Fjordhelm,

Saint Jude of Cyranium,

Saint Wilfriche of Hanseti,

Saint Godwin of Paradisus,

Saint Lothar of Balin,

Saint Amyas of Yore,

Saint Schlamut of Ysrael,

Blessed be all their names, for they have served in life to Godani,

Inheritors of the world and true sons and daughters of Horen."

Angered by their powerful belief in the ONE TRUE FAITH, they called unto their brothers of Iblees. Upon these words the ground would rumble as if every criminal known to MAN, betrayers of GOD and the ONE FAITH, ran into the defense of their unfound beliefs. Each of them eyed the two men, who stood firmly in their ground, maintaining their salute to GODANI, and the memories of the true protectors of the faith in the past.

"Rally, rally, for the true inheritors of the world are at our gates and at our steps! Raise your swords for the speakers who fight against hypocrisy and oppression!"

The Daemon's tongue would flick in the air as he spoke, spittle and acid flying onto the helmets of the men. But, unnerved, and unshaken, the man of the faith would speak against the vile tongue in turn.

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against Iblees' scheme! Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your GOD must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from the world."

The beast would swell with rage and anger, and rose his sword in the air. The sky itself would crack in defiance, black and red clouds of hellish past would gather among the evil folk. Yet in the presence of the two men, who stood with their hands in the air, dispelled the evil that would come from the Dominion of Malin. The elves, unwanted by GODANI himself, screamed at the utter righteousness of the two.

"Virarim! Charge!"

The two men would stand against fifteen hundred. The force of a whole city would come unto them. Overcome by the numbers, the tide of corrupted hearts and black souls, the two men of God would soon be found laying dead on the roads. But as their eyes would close, their lips would part way for few words.

"The Dominion will soon fall."

Artimec lowered his bow, watching the two Redcloaks before him get cut down swiftly and efficiently. He was confused. They had said they wanted to die in glorious battle and become martyrs, but the moment the elves had drew their weapons, they ran away like rats- not even swinging their weapons once.

"I'm confused. Is this what they consider honourable death? Being cut down while running away for their lives? Whatever suits them, I suppose."

((Hey guys, lets not write a forum post with flavour text that attempts to establish as fact things that never happened, eh? ? ))

A White Rose soldier rolls in his grave at the misuse of the Kaedreni salute and foolish, suicidal fervor these new men have tried to evoke in their names.

Victoria Vientos would sit at a window, overlooking the sea as her husband read the letter to her. A hand gently rested on the small bump that was forming on her abdomen.

"My mother told me stories of the Qalasheen and the Farfolk, she even lived there for a time. But these men you speak of now are wild and know nothing of their own history." She'd exhale, "It makes me sad, to hear the words they speak and that they're utterly wrong."

She'd sip a small cup of tea, closing her eyes a moment, "I should wonder how the House of Yar would feel, if they could see and read this now? How would my great-grandfather feel, even? The legacy of the Vandalore and Vandoria is tarnished with every misstep and conflict these men make...it saddens me."

Victoria would turn her head back to the window, waves crashing on the cliffs below.

"That's the second most easiest raid that's been repelled in the past, what, four days?" The Praetor, who wasn't present,  but heard about the events, because none of the defenders died, so they actually lived to tell the tale. He then thought about the foolishness of the Frostbeards, and how their only tactic was to lock themselves in the city's barracks, then get cut down regardless.
