I play a Hou-zi and can say the opposite. The Kha I do see are rare- or just Sutican pets that hang around making stupid comments. The Hou-zi had a couple players when I took the group, now they have far more and actually talk to one another. I have players committed to growing our culture and adapting it to current RP affairs, which is far more than I’ve seen out of the Kha player base with the interactions I’ve had. 

 

I respect everyone wanting to just remove the Hou-zi and Kha entirely, and I’ll say this about them. If I and my player group fail to grow Hou-zi role play then I fully agree with removing it. I believe races should be restricted to what people play. Building on that, however, Rats are just another interesting creature that will be flooded with applications the first month before slowly drizzling until it has little support. If you remove Hou-zi and Kha, don’t replace them, let them die.

re-vise kha and metzili (daemon of time, wtf be reasonable) remove hou-zi and dont implement ratmen

Why not take all three and make them part of one beast race? Just divided into different cultures based perhaps on genetics or on locations to explain their unique forms. That way Kha nor Hou Zi players would have to lose their spot yet we can get the neato rat people as well. 
Similar to how humans evolved different skin tones depending on where they lived and developed different cultures. Could be one beast race with many faces.

@Lerenzo I knew four kha before making mine ? And met more shortly after.

As for re-visiting the kha, when we got soft shelved or whatever you want to call it, we were in the middle of a revision which meant multiple players stopped playing, though some had other reasons, to wait for the new lore.

Well this thread if full of confirmation bias, how about we all agree that neither kha nor hou-zi should be played as they are races that contribute nothing to the server. Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Halflings, and Orcs are all we need.

How about not? Plenty of Kha and Hlou-zi are absolute delights to rp with. I don’t see why most u dwed hate them so much, its just dumb.

@arakrsptec I totally see where you are coming from, and I do agree that if they are to die, to just let them die or be apply to play as it is now for the kha. This being said, it probably doesn’t help that our two races don’t get along well, so we don’t see too-too much of each-other. Unfortunately, those kha that remain are overly reliant on leaders who, frankly, aren’t doing anything... I have been trying to take up a role in bringing the kha back, but it’s always “Oh, we’ll vote next week.” and other passive things like that... Yeah the current leaders are good people, but there’s so little effort being put forth that nothing is coming from it.

@Burnsy__ Bias or not, they still contribute. Myself as Tsisha running the tavern (Though I have been on a bit of a hiatus lately due to my enlistment, I will be around on weekends now for certain), hou-zi running land negotiations to the north... there is contribution however it is hard to see from Holm or wherever you are hanging out now, considering I don’t see you all that much anymore.

There is no bias for me, I have no dog in this fight. Kha RP is insufferable and since they were put under a CA I can assume their numbers were not high enough to justify keeping them as a main choice. As for my whereabouts, I still freqent Holm’s palace and am in a new dwarven city that you agreed to be the Ireheart Clan Mother in, and we even are in the same Discord for the aforementioned city. I also launched Bogrin before that which was a resounding success, and that was literally right behind Holm.

@Burnsy__ Ah, right. I meant more in-game I haven’t seen you much, but anyway, doesn’t matter in context with this. With the insufferable portion, are you referring from your perspective towards kha players, or the amount of effort the kha player has to take in order to get the accent and lore correct? I see your point with both, and yes, our numbers were dwindling though we were starting to pick up a few new rpers, they were not understanding the rp aspect... Who knows, perhaps the CA will work for the better in having it so that those who do play kha have decent rp with it so they know what they are doing, though it will certainly not help in the numbers aspect of things.

On a serious note, I’d like to see ratmen implmented as a sort of semi-event race. They could be openly and easily registered for during times of swarming, so that for the most part they aren’t always lingering around, yet still create times of rat glut to have skaven fun during. Similar to the harbinger pvp stuff, though with a bit less restriction and upkeep required.

Though I’d like to modify the standing “Ratiki” lore, because it’s a bit pathetic and does ratmen a disservice.
