Actually it has I logged into find my dark dwarf now just dwarf. I know it does not affect a large group like snow elves but others are feeling the brunt of it.

Yeah you guys have the proper lore, that much is clear. Seems weird, taking away a subrace, when the LT are the ones who approved the subrace in the first place.

On another note, my character isn’t a wood elf. Now my subrace is wood elf. Mods apparently don’t have the command to fix this. You guys made a mess. Clean it up.

I never said he made this decision on his own, that’s your own assumptions. Sporadic used the current state of lore as a basis for a database purge, very clearly. Apparently, Snelves aren’t core lore right now, that would explain why they were covered under the database cleanse. These are my own abstractions as to why—I gave the Development Team a tight deadline for 7.0 now and I understand maybe I shouldn’t have. We will need to figure out a way to accommodate races in time for 7.0, but I’m 100% certain there is nothing malicious going on. I mean at most this may be a clerical error.

I for one am happy, that in his infinite wisdom, our chairman Telanir has finally decided to rid us of outdated, tribalistic concepts like “race”. I think we should all strive for a brighter future, where we are all one people, with no borders to divide us. Come on, its the current year, people!

the dumb differentiations exist because old factions wanted to be special snowflakes regardless.

That's not correct.

The subraces started because each race was made with three sub options. The elven choices were high elf, wood elf, and dark elf.
When LOTC started, there was no clear lore on the differences between the Dark elves, wood elves, and high elves. Elven race Rp during that time was largely one elven whole, with the subrace choice changing what you could expect an elf to look like. One of the first dark elves on the server was lilac purple even because most racial lore was inferenced from other cannons.

How ever, now it might be best for all races to just be the base ones, mainly because you can easily make the arguments that the culture of a race is more impactful than their actual race. A high elf who lives with the dark elves will be better described as culturally dark elf.

In regards to this thread involving several races removed from Core Lore and deemed a culture, this has been brought to the attention of the team and we will be looking into this. The discussion that is being referred to happened early last year with many of the Core Lore races and what not brought into question. While this was discussed, the decision however on removing races and making them cultures was not finalized at all or even spoken about in months. Which when the push for things to be done before 7.0 was launched, normal steps that should’ve been taken were not and thus we apologize for this. We completely understand your concerns on this matter and what it is in regards to the playerbases here and will be looking to clarify/clear up this issue.
