Muriel ascends the dias of the Silver Citadel once more as he had the previous day, an impassive demeanor retained with the light steps he took upwards. His eyes occasionally flicker about the gathering, observing those present in a prolonged silence before beginning to speak.

“Mali’thill of Haelun’or.

You have been congregated again for yet another instance of the democratic process, whereupon a position in Elheial'thilln shall be announced for election.

As per the constitution of the new republic, the positions Okarir'mali and Okarir'tayna have been rendered obselete, with Elokarir'hiylun encompassing the duties of both.”

The Uradir pauses abruptly, inspecting the expressions of the crowd before him before continuing with a raised monotone.

I call upon the pure mali'thill that wish to nominate themselves for this position to step forth and declare your candidacy to the people. Let it be known you are the optimal choice for maehr'sae hiylun'ehya to be preserved by the Silver State."

Dele steps up to nominate herself for this position.

”I am, without a doubt, perhaps the best candidate for the position we so lovingly call Okarir’hiylun. I have been with this city for nearing sixty years and for almost all of them I have worked tirelessly through the blood and gore of the clinic. I delivered babes, put life back together where it was nearly lost. Even now, as the positions of Mali and Tayna would find themselves engrossed under this position, I recall a time when the previous council abolished this position, not once, but twice, with the same statement: The Okarir’hiylun was unneeded, I recall.”

She’d pause, taking a breath.

“ I have served as a Steward for some time now, I see to the wellness of life of those around me. Unbeknownst to most, I am even in charge of the singular orphanage in the city, which I have been trying to finish by myself after a thorough purging of the degeneracy that had lived within before. I am a business owner, a Laurir, I actively am a piece of the community. I am a mother, a friend, I seek to tend a position which I’ve desperately waited years to prove myself worthy of.”

“While I’ve no doubts about your capabilities as a doctor and as the person to run the clinic, as of right now, the position of Okarir’hiylun does entail more than that. Perhaps you’d elaborate on how your qualities would make you fit for those tasks?

Furthermore, I’d like to ask if you have any plans that you intend to enact, should you be elected to Okarir’hiylun?”

“As I’ve discussed with the current head Physician, we plan to expand the clinic’s studies, which is quite hard to do without a government position. However, I will also oversee my Tilruir’lin and the stewards, and in turn the tavern workers. Both positions and groups I hold in high respect. I hope to bring more events and the likes to the citizenry, to prevent a stagnation of culture, provide enrichment, and benefit the Hiylun’ehya part of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya... seeing as, boredom lets on to chaotic tendencies, that could be destructive to self and citizenry.”

The woman pauses a moment.

”I also dearly hope that I’ll be able to work with anybody who wishes to host an event, or so much as bounce an idea off me. Who knows, I might even bring back Yoga Classes...

we surely all remember those? And how fun that was? Regardless! The enrichment of the lives of the citizenry, as well as their safety being met by way of housing, and their health being cared for by the plans I plan to implement with the current Head Physician, all should be well!”

As Elahern heared this speech he stepped forward
”Ker’ayla, I would like to speak out my support for Dele. She is experienced and activly involved in our community. I had the privledge to watch her work on the orphange, doing steward task and working whitin the clinic. Which she all did with the best of her abilities whitout giving up. She defenitely should get this position now.” The elf would state, getting back to his seat afterwards to slowly take back his place while claping his hands.

Farandil Aldin steps up, his fishing rod resting on his shoulder.

”Karin’ayla. I’m Farandil Aldin and I’m nominating myself as a candidate. I have a Master degree in Medicine, along with hundreds of years of medical experience. With the return of the Republic, me and my kin has returned to the city, loyal as always to the Silver State.”

He pauses, clearing his throat and bows.

”I am also a very likable person. As a servant of society am always free for a cup of tea or a glass of wine. I hope you vote for me. Ahernan. “

Silvyr Uradir

download.thumb.png.85c6c6a959ce953091f111734fc714a5.png

Silvyr Uradir steps forward after Dele, a light smile appearing on his face as he greets the crowd he waved once, and then placed both hands into his pockets, as was habit for him now.

“Perfect health is something I have been practicing for life. Health is perhaps the most important part of the city, without it the Sillumir would not be strong, our politicians would not be able to think with logic, and our people would become stupid like all the other races.” He paused briefly, for effect.

“In the past, I was competing with Dele Seregon for the leading role of the clinic, and unfortunately due to grand schemes and tricks, I was not afforded the opportunity. However my medicine was purchased by the now Maheral himself, proving it was not ‘snake oil’ as some have called it. I even have the invoices to prove it! It was a necessity for the health of this city during the times of plague, and without it I fear many souls would not be here with us today. I have healed the bones of the broken, hands of the strong, and souls of the lost.  I am so committed to health, that I can promise today, within 10 years this city will be totally, and completely secure from any medical disasters that may happen in the future. We will get more funding for the clinic, run by Dele. We will BUY the finest medicine from across the realm, and we will TEACH all those who wish to learn about medicine. So that we might have a small society of doctors, and mental health specialists for those borderlining mental impurity!”

“I see and respect you both, but we all know that both of you had disappeared for several years... The Okarir’hiylun is no longer just about the health but it is also about the livelihoods of the citizenry. Niether of you have served in the Stewards of the City, neither of you have planned or set forth any sort of festival ideas. Before the coup, I had a suggestion to our former Okarir’mali, on a Merchant Festival, inviting many into the city to see the fine wares of our citizens. It would’ve been a boost to the city’s local economy, and it is still in the planning stages due to the extent of it all. I know the steward, Elahern, Phandelver, Celestia, Solaine, and Seth, all by heart. I have worked with them for years now, I oversee an orphange, I oversaw the clinic and it’s many pieces for many years before I left it to take care of myself after a string of unfortunate incidents.”

The elfess pauses, looking to Silvyr with some wariness.

“Let us not forget, Silvyr, that you peddled a supposed cure-all to all things. You cared not but for money, charging hundreds per bottle of this supposed cure all. There is no such thing as a cure-all, that in some cases contained Black Sun’s Spinster, a known birth control. You didn’t compete, you tried to coup my former Head Physician, Alrin Sul’sumana, in the middle of a Flu Epidemic. You barged into the clinic with no prior gumption to prove you knew what you were talking on. Let’s not forget you seemed to be a proponent for paying for treatment. Also, are you not aware I hold a position in Curantes Guild of  Medicine, where we find students without teachers and place them within the care of a teacher. This guild is open to everyone, not just those we deem fit. Any good Physician would know they shouldn’t try to buy medicines of the highest quality when they can buy the materials themselves, or gather them. I have the connections to get these materials, truly. The position now is suited to somebody with my qualifications... You say you studied medicine but I’ve never seen you actually practice in the muck and gore of an operating setting, or in the Field with the Sillumir, which mind you I’ve been trying to implement for YEARS.”

With that, she’d turn to Farandil.

”While I do not doubt your qualifications as a Physician and rejoice the return of your kin and yourself to the walls of Elcihi, I’d also like to share the same sentiment as I shared with Silvyr. The Okarir’hiylun’s position is no longer just the clinic. It has absorbed the positions of both Okarir’tayna and Okarir’mali, meaning, I would be arranging a Tilruir’lin. I do love and appreciate you, Farandil, truly I do- but you are not up to date just yet. I look forward to you both working in the clinic though.”

Kaelan Aldin joins in the debate! Preparing his line of questioning for each candidate, firstly beginning with Dele.

”Karin’ayla, llir.

I see much regarding your proposals leaning predominately towards the side of health, yet nothing regarding the administration or stewarding of el’cihi. Can you elaborate for us more on your proposals moving forward? The task of Okarir’Hiylun is a vital one, certain ‘thill know you as being agitated and annoyed relatively easily. If the Sohaer was to be incapacitated, how would you deal with affairs within el’cihi?”

Then turned his attention to his nephew, who was almost triple his age.

“Karin, malii’malonn.

It is without doubt you are a very likable ‘thill, yet I was hoping you could explain to the ‘thill your prior experience beyond working within the medical department?”

Didn’t pay much attention to Silvyr, opting to first see what others had to ask the ‘thill.

“Ludicrous. Up-to-date is a matter of debate. I do love you dearly, but the fact that you resort to personal attacks aimed to discredit our competition, the good Uradir, hints towards your lack of objectiveness. That you insist that we have had a lack of propositions to the previous Okarir’tayna are claims and accusations with no credible sources. Before my untimely departure, which was to further Mali’thill interests, I proposed a series of steps to increase the general quality of life in Haelun’or. From banquets in conjugation with my dear mali’malonn Goan, to courses of personal fitness for the citizenry. That these were discounted by the previous council is unfortunate.”

The ancient ‘thill turns to his uncle, smiling softly.

“First I will begin with my plans for the medical aspects is an improvement to mental health. The general physiological health of the citizenry, as frowned upon in the past, should be brought to light. Members of our nation have had mental breakdowns that has led to both assassinations and other issues for the state. If this was focused on earlier, we may have spared ourselves the pain this has led to for the city. Physical health is important, just as much as psychological. The previous okarir’mali has failed to grasp these problems, and as a consequence we have suffered.”

Farandil Aldin takes a deep breath, again returning with his fatherly smile. He pulls out a pipe, lighting it and taking a small drag.

”The curantes guild of medicine has been a boon and a solid foundation for a generalized health system, but as any guild, it has stagnated and led to corruption. Where it once was a thriving society, it has now become little more than an elite club house, who frowns and looks down upon practitioners who are not members. That some of the higher ranking members of the guild has been parts of scandals regarding both shades and cults should be of no surprise. As elokarir’hiylun I would use the influence of the station to reform it, and possibly dismantle it. The fact that up and coming surgeons are discouraged to practice their art without being a member should speak for itself.”

Again, the elder Aldin takes a slight breath, turning to the gathered crowd.

“As my dear marmal’onn stated, the position is not just health. With the event side of the position, I would establish a board of events, where the group would work on a solid calendar with annual events. These would be anything from harvest festivals, to fairs promoting the craftsmanship of the mali’thill, which we all know are of the highest quality. The board would also assist the blessed citizenry in hosting their own events.

In addition, physical health will be prioritized, with both exercise sessions and trips to promote physical health. It will be an excellent way for the ‘mali to see the world beyond the walls.”

Farandil looks around, to see if the citizens are still listening to his proposals. He chuckles lightly as he realizes some have stuck around.

“To finish my..well, long-winded dialogue, I may add that my time abroad has not been wasted. I have spent many months in the wilds, building a network of contacts and cataloging ruins. In conjunction with the Okarir’maehr, I would like to propose a series of expeditions and archaeological trips to further the knowledge and wisdom of the Eternal Library. Our eventual goal would be to gather artifacts and items of magical nature, to be stored in a place of safety.”

“Now, should the Okarir’hiylun have to ascend to the position of interim Sohaer, I do plan to rely heavily upon the judgement of our Maheral Sullas and the elected council in running the election for the new Sohaer as soon as possible. Be it post funeral or post trial. However, I hope you understand that my ‘easy’ agitation comes from blatant foolishness. I frankly don’t withstand foolish behavior, especially from those who ought to know better.. However, on further plans, there has been a Clinical Reform in the works by the current Head Physician, Nelgauth Maehr’tehral, that I aim to support and pass. Due to the fallacies of our former council, such couldn’t ever be passed because they opted to remove his ‘unnecessary’ position... As they have done before. However, I aim to bring initiative to the wellbeing of the city, including proper events once an elven month, if not twice. There are also plans to make Celestia, a current steward with myself, my Tilruir’lin so that she might help me further the stewardy.”

“Housing will be reworked, most definitely, as there are absent ‘thill who I’ve not seen in months who are bound to never come back. Door checks will be placed soon, mediir’an taught in the ways of integrating new and or returning ‘thill into the culture and city appropriately. It had been brought to my attention that in short, we really don’t do this much anymore. There will also be a PROPER establishment of an INN! We had an Inn, many years ago under the direction of Uppori Visaj, but due to unfortunate circumstances, such a service was lost and many unhoused Mali have been forced to just wait for a home to open up. I do, also, plan to establish a housemate service to match ‘thill with a good roommate to cut down on how many mali needing housing... I even plan to meet with couples to be wed, to test how well suited for oem’iian they might be. If they fail such a test, I would advise them to push their wedding date back a few years, as they clearly need to work on themselves and their bonds. Every malii deserves a good upbringing and if parents are let to wed who clearly don’t care about each other or others, then it will be no home appropriate for a malii. I’ve seen a few cases in my time as a citizen of Haelun’or of unfit parents being allowed to marry and reproduce, to yield unfortunate children who have been shuffled through the Guardianship System. Speaking of the Guardian System! I do plan to implement proper paperwork for this, to have a record of those who have interest in being a caretaker and role model for an oem’ii. I don’t want somebody being thrown an oem’ii they don’t plan to care for.”

“Aha, but Farandil! Curantes is not associated with Haelun’or by any means. It is a neutral guild and the previous member of whom you spoke has resigned and this shade removed, purged and disowned. You’ve not actually got any sway of the guild, as that would fall uniquely to myself and the other Guildmaster, Desmond. This so called ‘discouragement’ is false, as Curantes, if we speak on the same guild, willingly accepts up and coming surgeons into our ranks. I don’t think anybody has ever discouraged people from practicing medicine unless they join the guild, and if you hear such- You ought to direct them to me, as this is not the type of behavior I accept within the guild. Licensing, however, should be worked out by a nation, not a guild. We don’t handle licensing as whole, Desmond licenses for Oren, because that’s his job from Oren. If you say discouragement, do you actually mean licensing? Something that most people will submit to at one point or another?”

Kaelan Aldin nods at the comments made from Dele Seregon.

“Foolishness will be found at every corner and turn that you take, miss Seregon. This is something that must be taken into account before running for any Okariran position. There are people which will act foolish in an attempt to bring you down, which is why I would like to follow up with how do you intend to deal with these individuals or bring your emotions under control?

To follow up from your question regarding events, you speak of scheduled events, but then mention two? Does this mean to say you have an idea for scheduling one major event a month and if, time obeys. Two? I would like some clarification on that. I will praise the choice for Tilruir’lin, having individuals familiar with the way you work always helps.

Paused, allowing Dele to continue her debate, before continuing.

“I concur that the housing system would need to be reworked, this is a matter the predecessor had neglected, to my knowledge the housing system you intend to use is extremely similar to that of what Uppori had once set out to do, it is excellent that you have looked to her works for inspiration. In my opinion it was a system that worked with minimum flaws. As for your capability in involving yourself with the art of courtship, do you not feel you would be pressuring the ‘thill further into their relationship? I am of the opinion that would only cause the relationship to dwindle and perish, which would not assist in our prosperity.

I for one encourage our oem’ii want to enter the guardianship system to do so, the career path their parents have may not be in line with their freedom and creativity, where as a guardian may be able to offer them the opportunity to pursue the path they want.

Please do not take these as criticisms, or attempts of nit-picking in your candidacy, llir. I am merely wanting to establish whether or not we will be clasped in the same cycle or moving forward, together.

If my words show any value within the once esteemed Silver Bastion, the place I could call home.
I Nuala Uradir, the former Okarir’mali will be giving my vote to the esteemed Laurir Dele Seregon. Her tireless personality and the never ending working that she showed as my Medi’ir will be something I greatly miss.

She is is a dear friend who has saved my life more than once with her skills as a physician.

Mali’thill, she ne cares for power but your wellbeing. She is the last light that shines within elcihi. Let her save it.

When any votes occur, please use this missive as my official vote.” Said the missives that were sent to the Silver City by the means of paper butterflies. Each of the parchements would be decorated by the Uradir talonnii emblem, a silver butterfly and in the end of each missive would be a signatureNuala Uradir”
