Dearest readers,

The children of the Augustine Palace thank you for showing interest in the hottest gossip column; written, designed and managed entirely by us palace children… With this column, we hope to provide a window into life at court during the Orenian Social Season while we eagerly await our own debuts. We hope also to encourage more people to get involved in the affairs of the Social Season. So, without further delay, we welcome you again to The Petite Potins… which, quite simply, means ‘the little gossip.’

A Melancholy Match

Anthony Fitzpeter, seemingly unsatisfied with urban life, was overheard expressing his desire to acquire a piece of land outside of the city. His sisters, although frustrated with his ravings, supported their dear brother’s wishes and assured him that they would accompany him wherever he wandered off to. Anthony, however, was not satisfied with their assurances, for he launched into a whole new string of ravings. The Fitzpeter man began berating his sisters for their participation in the Social Season! One can only wonder if Anthony is entirely sound of mind… Maude apparently took Anthony’s belittlement to heart, as she was spotted fleeing her brother’s presence in tears. Later on, the fetching Madame was spotted once more with Prince Antonius Vilac. Reportedly, Antonius was lamenting to Miss Fitzpeter concerning his wife’s distaste at his return.

Adeline d’Azor and Anton d’Amato-Orlov had been dancing in each other’s arms all night in bliss. Or so we thought, until Adeline’s brother Joseph was suddenly discerned grabbing the man by the collar and yelling at him for having made his sister cry?! Adeline, in a fit of tears, rushed away from the scene, though her family chased her into privacy, where she attempted to convince them that Joseph’s outburst was unfounded and mistaken. We wonder what's going on behind the scenes, as we once more saw the couple beside each other after the ordeal was complete, standing dastardly close.

The Ruby Snatches her Prize?

It seems Lady Juliya Basrid is living up to the title bestowed upon her all those months ago at the outset of this hectic season, for she has snagged the attention of many an eligible bachelor; among the most notable suitors for our shining Ruby is Wilhelm, Baron of Carrington. It has been evident since the season’s opening ball that the two have taken a liking to each other and, just recently, the pair were spotted alone in the de Rosius vineyard. We at Petite Potins wish the couple well in their future, and we are intrigued to find out whether or not these futures will be shared.

A Bachelor and his Ladies

Henry Draskovic-Kovachev has been quite the playboy this season, being seen talking privately with more than a few ladies, notably Katharina von Clermont and- at the gala -the lovely Natalie Beaumont. Could this behaviour be indicative of charm, or could it spiral to dishonor matching the unfaithful counts and dukes of our past?

A Visit from the Grand Prince

Another Haeseni party visits again, yet this time with Prince Sigismund, Grand Prince of Kusoraev, in tow with his uncle Prince Nikolas. The poor prince was immediately flooded by different girls the moment he stepped in the entryway! Through all the swarming women prying for a chance to be Queen, a young commoner girl named Molia seemed to catch his eye after a prank by her and Lady Anastasya. There was no chaos this time, other than all the girls for the future king!

The Triumphant Sister

Philippa Fitzpeter isn’t playing games like her sister! It seems the girl has a stable head on her shoulders, being dead-set on the heir to Azor, Joseph, and no one else. We’re happy to say that he seems to be reciprocating warmly, as the two haven’t been seen without the other in nearly a month! Could a betrothal be around the corner?

A Pruvia Putting her Foot in the Ring

Anne Adelheid spotted with the heir to Sunholdt.

Late in the evening, the heir to Sunholdt was spotted standing quite close to Anne Adelheid. The Pruvia has been frequently spotted walking the streets with the future Count of Susa, Darius Basrid, which has us questioning her intentions with the d’Arkent! A skillful one, she is. The duo are first cousins, connected by their mothers. Suddenly, Lady Maisie showed up from her vacation, claiming that she was “saving her nephew from a ruined reputation.” She then explained to them how a lady and a lord seen at a social season event together close, without an adult, could stir gossip! Anne Adelheid quickly moved off to her twin's side, a smart girl.

Chords of Rochefort

Helena Charlotte’s recent debuts have been spectacular, but much has been left to desire over her attire. As the girl has been spotted wearing her debutante dress a second time. One must wonder if the Rochefort’s fashion prospects have not been in her favour ever since her presentation to the Princess Imperial.

We at Petite Potins have heard from the Princess Imperial of her Imperial Highness’ plan to introduce a revolutionary new bill to the House of Lords. The proposal, entitled The Rosemoor Bill, calls for the enfranchisement of Ladies, bestowing upon them the right to inherit their familial titles. The ladies of Petite Potins find the current practice of agnatic primogeniture to be grossly archaic, and entirely support the Princess Imperial’s bill. We find that this new enfranchisement would boost governmental participation amongst ladies of Imperial peerage and, seeing as her Imperial Highness, the Princess Imperial, is currently the only lady serving in the currently stagnant House of Lords, we find this to be absolutely imperative to the continued success of our great nation.

Aimee Carrion atop a lamppost outside of the Rochefort Crescent.

Quite a scene unfolded at the Grand Opening of Lady Helena Rochefort’s Crescent which, perhaps unsurprisingly, involved the Dowager Countess of Dobrov. In the later hours of the Rochefort Crescent's Grand Opening, screaming was heard from the Primrose Complex! The Countess appeared stuck on a lamppost, just outside. Moments before, the Duchess's water had broken, and as her water spilled over the smooth tile, the Countess had slipped and flown right from the window as if taking flight! She shouted for Karoly, her son, to save her, and thankfully he had managed to find a ladder to get his Mother down. Alas, tragedy was not avoided, as moments later the Duchess herself slid right out the window, missing the lamp post, and landing promptly on top of poor Karoly.

THE BARON DE-CLAWED

Maude Fitzpeter was spotted running from the Augustine in tears, Baron Wilhelm walking towards her without much animation! He found her in the gardens beside Princess Amelia, Duchess Leopoldine, and Lady Henrietta, whispering amongst themselves. Wilhelm began apologizing to the Fitzpeter girl for who knows what, but was suddenly accused of leading her on by Amelia herself! Her highness began making bold accusations, even going so far as to ask if he’d ever even loved her. Of course, out of shock and sheer embarassment, he did not answer. Maude began expressing her lamentations with Wilhelm’s apparent lack of reciprocation in their relationship. They both agreed to speak later because Maude was meant to go horseback riding, but then, Lady Mary spoke up out of the blue and asked Maude if she was to have male company with her on the ride. What a turn of events for the couple once assumed to be the first marriage of the season...

KATHARINA, THE BELLE OF THE BALL

The ward of House Ashford de Savoie, Katharina, has dazzled the high societies of the current season. Many around the court have made comments on her clearly adept fashion acumen displayed through her dresses. She has caught the attention of many gentlemen throughout her ventures and is surely to be matched by the time the season is over, as the girl is consistently spotted with illustrious men ranging from d’Azor to Kovachev!

DE SARKOZY CAUSING A ROW

A concerned citizen has recently approached the Petite Potins with a story concerning Tobias de Sarkozy and the always chaotic court of Haense.

According to them, an event hosted by the Queen of Haense and the Princess Royal was attended by some Augustine courtiers trailing HIH Princess Amelia of Renzfeld, one of them being Miss Octavia de Sarkozy. At the event, we’re happy to announce that said Sarkozy was presented with a ring from her beloved Borys! The first official match of the season! However, the spectacle didn’t end there, as during the encounter, Octavia’s father, Tobias, kept insisting that everyone cease all chatter, and when Princess Amelia refused, the brazen de Sarkozy rose to increasing aggression, cursing at the Novellen and accusing her of sporting ill manners! What a dastardly man to speak ill of our imperial royalty.

Joseph d'Azor sat in The Novellen across from Philippa handing her the newest copy of Petite Potins "What did I tell you Philippa? Much warmer reception in Petite Potins instead of the godawful dumpster fire that was the last tabloid!" He said with a hearty laugh as the pair read over the tabloid with intrigue.

Philippa Fitzpeter beamed, seeing her favourite tabloid as it circulated around. Her hands reached for the pages, scanning its contents in a hasty mannerism. "As I suspected too, it has showed an appropriate representation of the events which took place in the ball." A swift motion of her hands closed the tabloid, stashing the papers away.

Natalie Julia shakes her head upon reading about her an Henry for the 2nd time. “If this rumor keeps spreading then people will believe it.” She’d mumble before letting out a soft huff.

Lady Juliya cursed under her breath upon reading that her vineyard encounter had been seen. Despite what happened, which only she and the Baron would truly ever know, it was to be noted Juliya had began sporting a pair of ruby-encrusted, Azor-golden earrings as of late..

"I was talking to her. Talking to her.A certain statesman rebut! Anton offered a simple scowl to the tabloid that had reached his cluttered desk, throwing his hands up in dramatic gesture. "God- they'll really gossip about anything, huh?" He thought aloud, speaking to no one particularly. He shook his head with a decisive huff.

Princess Amelia skimmed over the passage and decidedly ran over to her family. "Look. See what that dastardly man did!" she said tapping the paper with the back of her hand.

Demetrius Igor, the terrifying youth, wanders the streets of Providence, frustrated at not seeing a single ghost or apparition like he'd set out to do earlier that day.

The foreigner then caught wind of such a press release, finding a copy for himself and scanning it with some mild shock "These are the children, vy expected me to play with Edwin?" He'd chortle "They live in their own little vorlds, do they not.." The youth proclaims triumphantly "Hmph, perhaps I'll stop at the next one of these events and see for myself.

Helena gained the courage to read this article.  “I wonder what lies they have used against me this time.” She smiled as she saw she wasn’t the Sarkozy. “Tsk Tsk. About time they say something about my mysterious father and my perfect sister. Hopefully now everyone will see I’m not the troubled Sarkozy.” The girl looked down at her almost healed fingers and started to pick at them once more.

Molia laughs with amusement at seeing her name mentioned, though blinks in realization.  It's documented that I attended now!  What if grandpa sees this?!  she asked to herself, before then making it her mission to destroy any papers sent from the Empire to Izvoroshu before they could reach Vulpe's hands.

A certain golden-haired lady clasps her hands together in enjoyment it seems! She smiled at the missive and even produce hearty chuckles. "How juicy this one is." The woman than stored away this missive, hoping to share it with her triplet sister.
