THE CATHALON BALL

A Curious Query

By the sidelines, the Duchess of Adria inquired of the Heir to Cathalon, Lord Helton about his prospects or any liking he has taken towards a certain debutante. With a flushed countenance and hesitance the Lord responded with not much for the Duchess to branch from. She thus hinted at how Lady Josephine will head for someone else, around her age. We wonder if the words hold truth? Furthermore, her remark complimented his first dance with the Ruby of the Season. We do ponder, who has the Lord settled his sights on?

A Sister’s Revenge

Lord Joseph Alexander whilst conversing with the youngest of the Cathalon family announced repeated fired tellings of her brother, the backstory of the words will be cemented in another section of the article. However! In the midst of the conversation, Lord Joseph called Lady Laurentina’s hair “poop” which seems now to be a common occurrence for the youth. Moving forth; Lady Laurentina shot a punch right to the d’Arkent’s face! Just when we thought it couldn’t get ANY worse, the Lady kicked the youth right into the area where no one should. We were shocked.

Continued With the Motion to Stop!

The Duchess of Adria and many others at the ball stepped into the circle of brawling children, separating the fighting children at last. Even though the fighting had stopped, a boy by the name of Richard d’Azor stepped forth to land yet another punch to Joseph Alexander. Unfortunately, the fighting ended the wonderful Kaedrini styled ball.

Turning a New Leaf?

Mister Arthur Galbraith, known to have married Miss Safiya Basrid during the last season. He has now shown himself to our current season, which makes us ponder upon the reasoning of his return? The Galbraith was seen conversing with Lady Theodosia Illaena Anastasia Anne Clover Vasa Cassia Lucia Emma O'Rourke and Molly O’Rourke during the ball. We wonder what will come of his second return.

POTINS

A Change of Heart

Lord Helton Helvets was last heard to be taking a liking to Miss Molly O’Rourke, though due to recent events, perhaps not? We at Petite Potins seem quite a bit confused! He was seen with Lady Lorina of Valles, conversing in the palace courtyards alone for some time. Meanwhile, he mistakenly called Lady Lorina, GOD forbid Lady Josephine. We cannot fathom how one manages to mistake the two ladies… But perhaps Lord Helton has various other thoughts lingering in his mind. Even though Lady Lorina spoke of her forgiveness to the Heir of Cathalon, we feel that there may be some doubt. I couldn’t imagine being mistaken for another person!

A Surveying Search

Lady Henrietta, seemingly like her brother, has been seen conversing with numerous bachelors throughout the season. In the palace walls, she was overheard speaking with Lord Edmund d’Azor in a teasing mannerism, quite flaunting in a public space. Furthermore, HRH Marus Aleksandr appeared in Lady Henrietta’s palace apartments for a housecall. We at Petite Potins wonder why the Lady is not seen at Cathalon rather, perhaps something is amiss within her family?

Possessed? Or Not?

During Lord Helton and Lady Lorina’s private conversation in the gazebo of the palace, Lord Helton was overheard laughing a lot. Due to this, the youth Lord Joseph Alexander arrived at the scene with a fright in his gaze. After having witnessed the ghost sight before the season officially commenced, Lord Joseph believed that Lord Helton had been possessed! We do not know if this is true, but the d’Arkent proceeded to kick Lord Helton in the “no-no square”. Apparently, according to the Duchess of Auvergne, it would cause infertility. We learnt that Joseph Alexander suffered the “hitting” back towards him on numerous occasions.

Nepotism of Jewelry

Vespira Komnenos released her latest line of jewelry, and the first item on the list eluded a shocking and blunt reasoning. The name of the jewelry is “Adria’s Favoured”, it was nicknamed nepotism. A shocking display of brusque behaviour from the aged de Selm.

A Roaring Conversation

During the Maiden’s Day hosted by Miss Safiya Basrid, Lady Henrietta and Lady Josephine were spotted within the palace gardens… More passive than normal. Lady Henrietta revealed to Lady Josephine of her brother’s closeness to Lady Lorina. Although from a glance, such was a kind offering -- We suspect if the tone of the conversation and meaning was somewhat different. Lady Henrietta informed Lady Josephine that she would tell her of her brother’s favourite flowers. Odd, odd, perhaps Lady Henrietta is still quite disappointed with the pick for Ruby?

The Return of Rhea

Before the speeches conducted by ladies of Oren could be heard in the Maiden’s Day gathering, the spirit from months ago returned. Although not with much aggression, the spirit spoke of her father and her wandering thoughts.

A Nervous Explanation

The children during the Aldersburg Cotillion were told by HIH George Alexander about how the coming of children was to be. According to the Imperial Prince, and which we are inclined to believe - A Mama kisses GOD and so their prayers are sent and a child will be delivered. Other than this, we have learned that kissing is BAD and that you shouldn’t do it, or else you’ll have a child!

Daphne Helvets looked into her mirror with practiced pride, smile, and poise. Recalling quite feverishly the words the Duchess of Adria had bid her. All she had to do was convince her sister Laurentina to behave... and what an ask that was.

Joseph d'Azor pursed his lips as he read of the drama. A small smile cast in the direction of his youngest son Richard.

Analiese d'Azor remained home in her new chambers atop the d'Azor mount, reading the article with a proud smile, before folding it into her special book. Flipping the pages she presumed her scribbles of one the suitors of the Social season who'd caught her eye, a dreamy sigh escaping her lips as she looked out over the balcony. How she did so hope she could be as magnificent as the Debutantes when her time comes...

Henrietta clutched the latest issue of the potins in her hands, having been anticipating it’s arrival for the entire week. It was something she so looked forward to, and it never disappointed her. She found herself entertained once more, giggling to herself over a glass of wine as she inspected the contents of the column.

Helton received his copy just after a certain Lady left the Cathalon Estate, having been granted a private tour. He was glad to see it the paper did not include his two harp performances at the ball.

Dismounting her steed after returning from a private visit to the Cathalon Estate, Lorina Isabel was handed the newest article along with a handkerchief. Scanning each section with a quirked brown and frown at the missed events before coming to the part where she was mistaken for Lady Josephine. “My forgiveness should have no doubt! It was confusing at first but quite funny to see the Lord’s panicked apologies.” She’d comment through laughs.

“If Marus is truly having house calls with my sister, he better bring it up with ME.” Francesca Ada Helvets let out a humph upon reading the Potins along with the scrolls. She then sent a letter to her good Haeseni friend.

”Dear Marus,

IF you have ANY intention with my sister, you better make sure to not poke her eye out. I can still barely see out of my one eye…

Anyway, come see me! It’s been a while.
Francesca Helvets.”

Laurentina couldn't help but to giggle as the brawl was mentioned. To her older sister Daphne, she mentioned: "He really had it coming!"

“Becoming famous isn’t so fun anymore…” Remarked the young Joseph Alexander d’Arkent before he scrunched up the missive into a ball and sent it flying towards his sister’s head with a volley kick.

HRH Marus Aleksandr slicked his hair back, correcting each strand of his lustrous hair ahead of snugly tying his boot laces. Not before admiring himself in the mirror for half of the hour, did he set out for nearest carriage to Providence to meet with Francesca Helvets @clonky a childhood friend of his. Prior to leaving, he dapped up Ser Flemius @FlemishSupremacy and smiled the sun's smile;

"I thought by not attending the festivities, my name would be unspoken of this season." Upon receiving the Petite Potins from a nearby servant, Safiya would examine closely, only to find her name stamped onto the page- and not only once. "It would seem they could not have waited?" A frown would arise from the Basridi's pursed lips as she continued downward. "Enough of this." Due to the frustration of her name, Safiya quickly crunched the papers, tossing them into the fire next to her.  "They'll all learn soon enough anyways. . ." She'd pause, waving her hand to notion another servant. "It is time for me to write another letter. Oh how I dreaded this day."
