By Decree of HRM Georg I, the Electoral Commissioner and the Deputy Palatine have been tasked with the establishment of Electoral Rules and Regulations, as well as the calling of the first election for the Peoples’ Duma, in accordance with the Edict of Wilheburg (475 E.S.). As such, this document shall outline the newly established Rules for candidacy to serve as a Royal Alderman, furthermore it shall serve for those who wish to register themselves as candidates in the upcoming Election.

 

The Royal Aldermen are the elected representatives of the common people of Hanseti-Ruska, and are tasked with giving a voice to those that are not represented by virtue of their nobility or through the Peer of their local lands. The Royal Alderman have a profound effect in the Peoples’ Duma, wherein three of them sit as well as the Barons of the Crownlands, where they write, discuss, and pass legislation for all of the Realm.

 

To run for Royal Alderman, the Electoral Commissioner established the following criteria:

I. One must be at least eighteen years of age.

II. One must be a documented resident of the Realm.

III. One must be of the common class.

IV. One must not have a criminal record.

V. One may not bribe potential voters, or purchase votes.

VI. One may not place advertisement signs on private property without written consent of the property owner.

 

If one does fulfill the above criteria, one is required to fill in the following form to submit their candidacy in the coming election:
