THE BLOODLINE ARCHIVE

Venerable Registers of an Ancient Nation

Deep within the bowels of the Eternal Library, a peculiar sight stands erected – an outlier nestled amongst towering shelves of ancient governmental archives. It is an unassuming marble pedestal, the only pedestal in the sacred institution. Dimly lit are its surroundings; the pedestal gleams in comparison, the sole source of light in its shadowy vicinity.

Upon this plinth is a tome from time immemorial, so wizened and weathered that it appears to be no less than a millennium old. The cover of this timeworn book has been refurbished with white leather and decorated with an artistic rendering of a mali‘aheral looking out from a stone tower, but its age is undeniable; the first pages nearly crumble as they are turned. No title can be found upon the tome. There is no mistaking what it represents.

Next to the book lies an inkwell brimming with black pigment. Within this inkwell sits a quill, singular in its purpose. A simple scan of the book will make this purpose known: thousands of words spanning centuries are chronicled upon its pages, some too worn to read. Each section details a bloodline with its name, family tree, origins, and distinctive traits. But even with hundreds of records spanning a millennium of history, there remains space; near the end of the tome, countless empty pages beckon the coming of new generations.

Hark, dear reader, for you are about to set your eyes upon annals most ancient. Upon the first page of the antiquated tome, the following words are elegantly etched in ink, faded and nearly illegible:

The Bloodline Archive

The written record of pure families within Haelun'or.

The purpose of the Mali'aheral is within the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Our philosophy stems both from our minds and our blood.

Silver elves take heed, for the recording of one's family ensures the continuance of our people's health. Scribe your lineage for all to know, and ensure our prosperity for all of eternity.

[[OOC guide to creating a Bloodline post in spoiler]]

Spoiler

The Bloodline Archive is semi-OOC in nature. Here is a guide to making a Bloodline post with key points that should be mentioned:

  1. History: A general overview of your bloodline's history. It can be an origin story, a biographical tale, a practical description – you have free reign to interpret and relay as you please.
  2. Physical and personality traits that are unique to your bloodline.
  3. A family tree. A commonly used and easily navigable site for this is familyecho.com.
  4. Anything else that’s relevant – culture, beliefs, etymology, everything of the sort.

A note: only pure high elven (mali’thill) citizens of Haelun'or may contribute to this Archive. I recommend that you consider your family’s unique place in Haelun’orian history and culture in your description.

-<II||    The Miravaris Talonnii   ||II>-

Of all silvered things, only Haelun’or and its law remain eternal.

- History -

Whilst the Miravaris Talonnii is estimated to hold origins in Asulon, from times of the Second Pools, its exact genesis is shrouded in mystery.

The first recorded Miravaris Laurir - Aevulith Miravaris - penned an original entry into Bloodline Archives of ages past: one of few Miravaris artefacts that have been recovered, at least in part.

Later entries such as this have continued to expand upon our Talonnii’s history, documenting the ever-growing list of Miravaris oem’ii born, and the Miravaris’ eventual rise to prominence.

-

I - Through Asulon til Atlas, the Talonnii of Miravaris remained somewhat unknown; but another humble Mali’thill lineage, tending quietly to their research, craft, and duties. So did it remain, until tragedy struck; Okarn’thilln, where the Miravaris Talonnii had resided in number, was destroyed.

II - After the destruction of Okarn’thilln, to which many kin members were lost, the Miravaris family began to regroup in the newfound city of Fi’halen, providing a full emergence as the Haelun’orian people moved to the land of Arcas. It was there that the first Miravaris attained a position upon elHeial’thilln, and would later go on to briefly take up the mantle of Sohaership at two separate times.

III - Throughout this time, various Miravaris kin would make their presence known, informing that the Talonnii as a whole had indeed survived the Okarn’thilln disaster. Tragedy once again struck the Mali’thill - during Alaion Miravaris’ tenure as Okarir’tir, the Maheral Azorella Elibar’acal was assassinated, prompting the resignation of the incumbent Sohaer. In attempts to stabilise and re-unify the Mali’thill people, Alaion Miravaris took up the mantle of Sohaership.

IV - Yet, comfort for the Miravaris could not last long - tensions still remained high, and a Republic faction began to gather in elCihi. As the investigations into the assassination came with little fruition, the people were placed into a frenzy - disorder and disruption pushed the Silver City past its brink, culminating in the coup of Sohaer Alaion Miravaris and Acaele Lazul, bringing the rise of the Republic Era.

V - Ultimately, this led to the Miravaris Talonnii becoming scarce within elCihi, either taking temporary leave from the city or merely keeping very low profile. Throughout the Republic and Sohaerite Eras in Almaris, the Miravaris Talonnii removed itself from the public eye; awaiting a time in which they could return to a stable, recognisable Haelun’or and fully reintegrate themselves.

VI - Alas, the decision to re-emerge was no such smooth thing; it was once again in the face of travesty that the Miravaris proved again their loyalty to the Silver State. Arasdir Miravaris came early in the great struggle against the Mali’fenn, tasked with a de facto administration of the State while the conflict was still brewing. The work he had done and the time endured in Fennic prisons earned enough time for the re-emerging of Alaion Miravaris and the cavalry of patriot Mali’thill, who secured the Sohaership - this time, elected. The Miravaris presented themselves as a figure in opposition to the attempted coup of the Silver State by the Mali’fenn, gathering together supporters and a faction to try and undo the damage that had been done by the traitorous predecessor council.

VII - With international pressure building, the new Silver Council made a pact with the Uruk Horde in exchange for protection of their peoples. However, whilst the Haelun’orian people did indeed succeed in defending their home from occupancy by the Mali’fenn and New Malinor, wider Almaris conflicts found themselves to centre around the Mali’thill island. In seeking to end unnecessary ‘thill bloodshed, the Miravaris Talonnii migrated alongside our Mali’thill kin to the southern peninsula city of Asul’hileia, wherein the Sohaership was handed to Luthien Maeyr’onn.

VIII - From then until now, the Talonnii continues to grow in number, with many members reconvening in the migration to Aevos and Tahn’miruel. The future of the Miravaris Talonnii remains yet to be penned.

- Code of Conduct -

I - The Miravaris Talonnii conducts itself in eternal
accordance with the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

The Miravaris are committed to the following of Larihei’s teachings - to stray from the Silvered Path is to be Miravaris no longer. Those of the Miravaris line strive for perfection in their purity, of both mind and body.

II - The Miravaris Talonnii recognises refinement,
etiquette, and formal respect.

From a young age, elves of the Miravaris lineage are provided with a rigid programme of education, including but not limited to formal studies in the arts, the humanities, and the sciences. It is not uncommon to see a Miravaris with total mastery in a specific field, the family boasting especially fine musicians.  Beyond this, the Miravaris Talonnii places specific emphasis on studies of law, culture, and debate. After all, it is that which holds the true framework of proper, ordered society.

III - The Miravaris Talonnii emphasises order,
preservation, and structure.

The Miravaris Talonnii has long held ties to elSillumiran; and indeed, all capable Miravaris’ are expected to enlist and serve. In youth, the Miravaris not only pursue formal education, but equally the health of the body, with physical training a key part of this endeavour. The Miravaris strive to be model Citizens: the strive for contribution to the collective structure is one that the Miravaris hold close to their heart. From this citizenship comes service, comes loyalty, comes devotion.

If a Miravaris makes an oath, they intend to keep it.

- Physical Traits -

I - Whilst the Miravaris Talonnii hold no exclusive traits in hair colour, due to varying branches of ancestry, they most commonly are seen with pale hair ranging from a pale blonde to a warm white.

II - Miravaris’ tend to have very angular facial features; pointed noses, sharp jaws, upturned eyes. Though alike hair colour their eye-colour varies, it is almost always of a light, pale tone, no matter the hue.

III - On first glance, the Miravaris seem to hold a lithe build. This observation is likely due to Talonnii members being regularly quite tall: almost always over 6ft. However, this is not to say that the Miravaris are merely gaunt scholars; quite the opposite, in fact. Whilst not physically ‘brawny’ or ‘stocky’, the Miravaris tend to be healthy, toned, and relatively strong due to emphasis on military training in youth.

II - There exists however a process of challenge, in which another eligible descendant may declare the incumbent Laurir ‘unfit’:

First and foremost it is easy to trace the prestigious Sullas bloodline back into Aegis, the birthplace of all Descendant peoples, and most likely directly onto Malin’s Council; some thing widely believed to be much larger than any Elven governments since, so this was not exactly an unusual position to be in. Nevertheless, an important job, if perhaps not the most exciting. The unfettered peace of Malin’s time was just so that truly skilled politicians must have fallen into disuse over more showy, domestic sorts.

Not to digress, nothing of historic note happened to Sullas for perhaps centuries, until Larihei Lomahnih arrived. As is already well-recorded, this controversial icon was cast out for her beliefs, some thing no High Elf should have to face. She divided from Malin with her associates, and in discovering the Golden Pools her faction became the first ‘bathers’ that eventually called themselves the High Elves. This is the path Sullas chose to walk, casting off their mundane paperwork for scientific and arcane frontiers; or at least, these are the wonders Larihei revealed to them about what life’s work could truly be.
Sullas became High Elves.

How ever, skeptics that they are, Sullas did not join Larihei on her ill-fated journey to colonize further continents. As many of Haelun’or’s surviving families did at the time, they felt severing from all other Descendants was not a way to obtain or preserve knowledge but rather leave it behind. Whether they were correct is still some times debated, was dying beside Larihei Lomahnih an honor or a tragedy?

Larihei and Malin gone, the progenitors of the well-known patriarch Lucion Sullas carved out a meager upbringing for him and his two siblings, Zarious and Kessinia Sullas. Deigning to work under Men in order to survive, Tirinia and Alkorim Sullas raised the family unit in Al’khazar where they served organizational and managerial jobs against their better interests. They perished during the flight from Aegis to Asulon, a perilous journey that also took the lives of Lucion’s brother and sister.

All this struggle eventually bore fruit when Lucion Sullas stumbled upon the ancient ruins of Cihi’thilln, finding them populated with a gaggle of refugees not unlike himself: Other High Elves. The rest was history from there, the excavation of Larihei’s College and studies of her Eternal Library’s ancient, preserved collection giving rise to a cultural rebirth unlike any seen before or since. Lucion Sullas had his hand in this personally, taking an active role in the local Asulonian politics and becoming a stalwart supporter of these recovered traditions, the ‘old’ ways as well as encouraging his own brand of moderate, dutiful behavior for State and People.

One of the first Okarir’indor of the modern Silver Council, the first appointed Sohaer, as well as a Maheral, he is a scholar, politician, and even known magician after discovering and wielding the formerly known evocation of lightning. His writings on all three topics are well known and appreciated to this day in Haelun’or. In his time he established the groundwork of rational thought and scientific research for all of his peers, chastising needless violence and excessive emotional displays. Even while holding no positions his word carried weight and only the unwise did not heed it, which has been true ever since his active years.

He, too, attempted to continue his bloodline and so his legacy, by joining with one Celia Windsworn to sire several children- Four, the original count until nearly all of them, ended their own lives. If that was not enough, Celia Sullas too, taken by a wretched murderer. Things appeared bleak for prolonged Sullas prosperity, centuries afterward. Even the brief return of Lucion’s nephew did not put a dent in the drought of new blood.

That is, before the 18th century arrived. While the patriarch had been absent for some time, blazing into the picture was Aiera Seregon, a gray woman suddenly and passionately claiming to be an overlooked child dating back to Asulon; the illegitimate daughter of Lucion Sullas and Aelia Adrenn-Calith, conceived after the death of his wife in a misguided fling.

Aiera Seregon released a request for clarification across the realm of Arcas, reaching many, including her intended target: Lucion. In the end she was declared with humility to be a Sullas, her children and spouse permitted to take the name, and even guardianship of the Sullas Talonnii passed down to this woman so boldly in pursuit of the truth.

Matriarch Aiera Sullas went on to obtain a seat on the Republican Silver Council by unanimous vote in late Arcas, after the Visaj-Elervathar Diarchy fell. This was one of a few tenures as Okarir’maehr for her, the administration of which became a cornerstone of cultural sanctity through darkened times. Chief of these, The Pact of the Titan. Azdromoth’s grip was swift and damning to the hopeful young Republic, and Aiera Sullas’ jurisdiction was one of the few factions to publicly resist. In general, her doors offered safety and broad acceptance for keen and level-headed Mali’thill, inspired by Lucion’s teachings of ages past.

What came after the reign of the Drakaar over Haelun’or was not much better however; and led to a quiet period of mourning as Laurir Aiera Sullas retired from her position as an Okarir. Presently, she presides as a scholar on the ancient language Mali’san, tongue of the Elves. It is up to the new generation to safeguard their traditions, now that they are the wedge between life anew and extinction of a bloodline.

Whatever the case, they will be diligent.

Those of the Sullas family tend to have tall faces, with hair ranging in lighter-greys to whites. Individuals coming from the line of Zarious Sullas might emerge with blond hair, or very rarely from the so-called patriarchal bloodline of Lucion Sullas. Either way, their expressions behold sharp features and strong brows with blue or green eyes of any tonal range, typically cool rather than warm, but including in between colors. Their heights remain average for high elves, around 6'0"- 6'6'', and tend to be thin, with a pallid complexion.

A Sullas is slow to anger, but easy to irritate. Magic, being only a modern addition to their family repertoire by way of Lucion Sullas, is not one of their strong suites despite the small success of the former patriarch in several disciplines of magic. The sciences tend to interest them far more in general observation, as their usually slight bodies and calculated minds do not agree with martial activities, combat and physically harsh labor. Nothing prevents them from participating in the Sillumir but poor attitudes, how ever.

They have an eye for research, are outspoken politicians, philosophers or public speakers and have a highly inquisitive, head-strong disposition.

mKBibUZ.png

Sullas is observably similar to the Mali’san (or Elven) words for light and seeing. One can only deduce that this has some thing to do with their astute ways, or an old belief about the power of astral bodies, such as the sun.

It could just as well be connected to a lost word for emitting light from within, as ‘ilum’ is generally believed to be restricted to reflections of light on the outside. In the end, all being theories before facts are known.

Contact can be made with the current Laurir and matriarch, Aiera Sullas ((Stumppt or Starrywoo IG and stump#1949 or _stump on Discord, I am always recruiting new members of any experience level!)) for any additional information about Sullas Talonnii or if one is an estranged relative looking for reunion into the fold. Mrs. Sullas is prepared without question to accommodate any and all having the Sullas name.

 Uradir

“Ceru’onn Thilln”

ydy0Gf0WeakKZlBXic6unUfMVFD8z8m3wgX8lzSXw6kVsRCzzbB7GtShe0tJ1kH4GfMGSLRAteXAsOINZ8jaH6pm8lw75UIn1XbD2zKAhi4A0VSe3tX7Jf9BFXmb2c-OQzBjUIhk

The Uradirs are a venerable and storied bloodline, raised to the upper echelons of Mali’thill society through the influence and great success of Kalenz Uradir, who reigned as Sohaer for nearly two centuries, and further established through the efforts of Silir Uradir as Okarir’san.

They are a bloodline known for their ambition, drive, and sheer capability. Known as skilled politicians and administrators, Uradir have held multiple positions in the echelons of Haelun'orian government and are respected for their tenacity and dedication. Controversially known to being more loyal to the family and their allies over the state, multiple times have relations between government and family been strained with Uradir family members.

The Laurir of the Uradir Talonnii is Anethra Uradir, who has served previously in multiple governments of Haelun’or, and despite her eccentric and reclusive nature, can be credited largely for the resurgence of the family’s reputation and wealth. She is known to be a guiding force and steady hand steering the Uradir towards their ever more exalted future, despite her controversies and troubled nature.

In the modern day, Uradir have mostly been left to seclusion and reclusiveness after the disgrace of the family by Silvyr Uradir. Most of them spread or distant, the family holds only a fraction of the power or influence it once had, almost entirely manifest within Kolvar Uradir, who remains within Haelun'orian government even to this day, persisting through decades of governmental shift.

=Physical Traits=

Spoiler

The Uradir bloodline was once one distinguished, as many Mali’thill Talonnii, by a narrow set of traits. Namely blonde hair and eyes toned in shades of blue. However, with the passing of generations and the introduction of other lines into the family tree, these traits have grown more varied.

Uradir will always have at least one of these prior traits, either hair in some shade of blonde, or eyes in some bluish hue. Skin tones can range from quite pale to relatively tan. Two of the current known Uradir lines have some variation or potential variation from this norm.

Anethra Uradir’s line would have the potential to carry forward lustrous golden eyes or white hair.

Celiasil Uradir’s line would have the potential to carry forward fiery red hair sourced notably from the Aélèyelsa blood mixed within.

=Family Tree=

Spoiler

All Uradir are descended from the line of Leyun and Asul Uradir.

The line of San'thill is the eldest of The Uradir Bloodlines, Grim'aeldus missing and unseen for centuries and presumed dead with the rest. Troubled, this bloodline consists of the (in)famous Sohaer and Maheral Kalenz, along with the accomplished Okarir'tir Silir. Durion and Renarion were both known for their rebellious nature, and were killed in opposition to the rightful Haelun'orian government.

image.png

The line of Talar is the most wide and accomplished of the Uradir bloodlines, hosting a very wide range of diverse and complex family members. Now the eldest of the family succession with the death of San'thill's line, the line of Moederai was the first to be rediscovered in the golden age of Uradir politics. The most diverse and varied of the three Uradir lines, Talar's line has hosted skilled politicians, brave warriors, and groundbreaking scholars and magicians. Though unlike San'Thill's bloodline which was progenitor to the foundations of Illusion magic, the line of Talar has ventured into dozens of schools of magic and been proficient in each; leading to the belief that this bloodline holds potent mage's blood.

image.png

The most distant and unknown of the three Uradir lines, Naela and her descendants have been missing and unheard of for centuries; presumed distant and dead, enshrouded in mystery and unknown.

=Beliefs=

Spoiler

The Uradir have been known historically to be a Talonnii with strict and exacting views on purity. It is the belief of most Uradir that any trace of impurity must be eviscerated and erased with the utmost contempt. That Mali’ata are intolerable and are done a service through the merciless cleansing of their most despicable and unfavorable blood. Family members deemed impure by their Laurir or State are expected to kill themselves immediately, as death is preferential to the eternal dishonor that comes with being deemed 'ata.

Beyond this hardline stance carried by a majority of the family, the Uradir are known for believing that action and accomplishment proves worth, that idle talk is worth nothing if not backed up by a combination of competency and proactivity. Those that make empty claims to greatness, or prove incompetent in duties or activities they have asserted proficiency in are greatly derided.

The Uradir are a pragmatic family, known for wasting little time on idealism or flights of fancy, and instead grounded in what is before them and supported by reality as it stands. They can be stubborn in their dedication to holding the line on what they see as truth, even if met with resistance or pushback for the stances they may take. As a portion of this belief in realism, wealth is regarded as an important asset and often sought, not for any sense of greed per say, but for the power and security that it provides.

Finally, unity is a theme held close by Uradir of the modern era. Though not known to be loyal to a fault, holding to the aforementioned pragmatism even if it is family that stands against them, there is a common understanding that they are stronger and better together than apart, and that through combined effort the family may reach greater heights. Family is the key to success, and the only allies that they can truly rely upon.

=Etymology=

Spoiler

Uradir, in Elven, translates to Naysayer, a meaning that falls in line with the Uradir tendency to speak truth to power, standing up for what they believe to be right regardless of common opinion.

Ceru’onn Thilln, in Elven, translates to Might from Purity, a message reflective of the family’s strict stance upon the value of uncompromised purity, and by inference their belief in the costs of impurity.

Hyptos

Long gone are those days of the great Exodus, when the chosen families followed the prophetess out of the old woods, and built the first walls of the first city, yet even before that tale, there had always been those loyal to the great maiden Larihei and her beliefs. Amongst the loyal of the silver brotherhood who had set out with her to colonize the great world, was Aryalas, bearer of the silver shield and fine commander in the struggles that came. A beautiful elf of vast energy and a philosophical mind, who would later come to take lands for the Blessed Race from those lessers who us they scorned, by tip of cruel spike. Be that a pen, or edge of polished spear. He would be known as ‘Lord of The Assembly’. Anaxagoras, first of the Hyptos.

Since ancient times there have always been the beautiful Sun-kissed sailors of island colonies of the Mali'aheral, Sailing with great ease from land to land with their impressive ships and painted sails. Their lifestyle, one of abundance and plenty leads the Mali'thill of The Hyptos more free time to pursue their personal passions. Glorious illuminating art of all sorts, musics and skills. Everything of the higher-art is seen as something that can be perfected and improved. From body and mind and their relationship to that ocean, and plying of their natural arts of life and philosophy to which the Mali'thill of the Hyptos are well known.

Through great Odyssey the Hyptos tell they gain inspiration, and through these inspirations, they are able to trace mythic ancestry to the greatest heroes in the depths of time

Physical Traits and Personality

Blonde and Beautiful are most Hyptos, with eyes of bronzes, blues and greens, like the colors of seafoam, the sea and sky, and the sun. Most men, and many women of the Hyptos are kissed by the sun, from spending their lives in open air buildings or out below in their moderate climates and delightful beaches. They almost universally are well built and shapely, as it is seen as beautiful to perfect your body. Their diets of seafood and milk and legumes give them strong teeth and healthy complexion. Their hair tends to be from the lighter shades of blonde to white, to bronzed blonde

Hyptos are nearly universally joyful carefree people. Completely secure in their beauty and growing perfections, they see much beauty in the world, and seek to make it more beautiful. Be it through arts, poetries and epics, or the power of their self! Well versed in those ancient perceptions of purity as laid by the prophetess, Their dress and toga goes to accentuate their forms, and none feel shame in their form which is in effort of being maintained and sculpted. It is better to be wise and strong than one or the other. They retain these cultures from the ancient times as the Hyptos praise the examples of their ancestors and in following the mythic legends, one becomes like them! Hail Larihei and those days most ancient! Hail the ancestors and the great ones before! May our deeds be known to the great legend!

Recent History

Hyptos has once again risen to prominence after a number of the sons of colonists arrived from the silvered colonies abroad, and quickly they brought about a wealth of song and poetry and vitality to an otherwise slowly decaying citystate. Though great Haelun'or remained high and mighty even in this short period of decline, it was brought about by pressure from outside, and insurrection brewing from within. A conspiracy noted by a young poet, where a cursed sorority sought to rise and take power unjustly to give to their conspirators abroad. Knowing the climate required careful civility, the Hyptos, like their ancestor in those ages before the exodus, met with the truly pure in their sacred baths in secret, where they may debate action amongst the other truly loyal of the great Tallonnii, Calith, Sullas, An'asul, Miraviras, and from the youthful vital elves of this generation, together they put up a great and firm resistance, even when all the forces of the mainland came to tear down the walls of High-Walled Haelun'or, they rose as great lads! Loyal to one another!

Through stalwart activism, and the pursuit of great privilege in lands abroad, the Hyptos were able to secure a great allegence for Haelun'or. Forming the first ever Great Horde, amongst their newfound allies, the Men of Norland, and the Steppe, and the Holy Lands of Krugmenistan. It was in this age of friendship and power projected by the horde, Haelun'or dispatched the lads to go forth and create an embassy, like the ancestors most pure before, Pamphilos of the Hyptos, along with Edgars An'asul, Elarhil Sullas, Valazaer Calith, and Luthriel Xenophon, had founded a colony at that age.

During the defense of the high walled cihi, the Hyptos served important roles as citizen soldiers, hoplites of the Sillumiran, ensuring the peace even with the occupiers, as fishermen proteting supplylines, and as patriots, protesting in the streets. Their action and demonstrations of loyalty to all that is silver had been enough to land Hyptos into good standing as Ahtalonnii when the capital of Haelun'or switched to one of her colonies in the southern lands. It was from there, that many more hyptos from abroad had begun to flock. Back to the motherland which had spawned them and the Blessed Race.

In the modern age, Hyptos dwells yet still in the great Motherland, individuals seeking to increase their privilege and standing, and therefore add to the kleos of their talonnii

Origins & History

In the times before Haelun’or’s founding, a pair of well-learned Elves lived within the forest city of Laurelin. Theveus, a tailor, and Alyss, a scholar with a particular interest in the arcane, often found themselves unable to unwind at the end of the day. A life without progress was a boring one, to them.

Centuries passed, and the pair had finally found their peers. Under the guidance of Larihei Lohmanih, who acknowledged and embraced their ambitions, they joined the first generation of what would later become known as Mali’Aheral. In the years to come, they would bear a single child, who went off to learn about the world by himself once he was of age, as his father had done before him. As Aegis fell, their story ended. But the family they founded would become a prosperous one over a century later, upon their son’s return to Haelun'or.

Once Silvos returned, he quickly found himself befriending a particularly curious Mali’thilln known as Kalenz Uradir, who would show him the way of the scholar. It was there that the true expression of his familial thirst for progress could finally be realized. He’d soon find himself enamoured with a female scholar, Hileia’Vione Akeleh, who he would come to marry and have four children with over the coming centuries, thereby ensuring his bloodline’s continued existence.

After the fall of Asulon, Haelun’or refounded itself in Lin’Evaral. Here, the Sythaerin family became a known staple within the community. The first Haelun’orian laboratories were constructed, and within it Silvos thrived as okarir’maehr. Three of his children would soon do as he did when he was younger, and leave to travel the world, giving in to their own curiosity. The remaining daughter married a High elf that could match the ambition and drive of her father, by the name of Kalameet Izalith, soon after which the both of them took their leave from Haelun’or as well.

It would be a long time before the occasional Sythaerin returned to Haelun’or, their old family father always still there, running the labs, until eventually retiring to travel the continents they’d moved to by himself. Centuries later, in Arcas, the laurir came to the gates with three of his descendants, spread across the generations, to give the wheel of progress another good spin. They remained for a few decades, then vanished once more as abruptly as they’d appeared.

Finally, the Mali’aheral found themselves living in Aevos. A colossal continent, with ample opportunity to explore and wander. The patriarch, finally convinced he should rest, handed the family’s leadership over to his great grandson Sorcaril. Along with a handful of other descendants, he would come to usher in the new era of Sythaerin prosperity.

Culture & Traits

Since the early days of Haelun’or, Sythaerins have been curious types. The family head, being an overly curious nerd, founded the laboratories. By this example, most Sythaerins will be driven and direct, though potentially neurotic should one disagree with their ideals or stand in the way of their personal progress. Many of them find themselves unable to remain in one place for too long, expressed by traveling the continent to alleviate their wanderlust.

Sythaerins, as most Mali’aheral, have tall, slender builds. Their hair is predominantly a light blonde, turning platinum with age. Their eye colours range from purple to cyan, slowly turning darker with age. Historically Sythaerins have not been physically impressive as they’ve pursued the voidal arts, yet restraining from such as most have done in recent years does allow for considerably lean or even bulky physiques.

Symbolism

The Sythaerin crest and other family memorabilia often feature the serpent, a nickname given to Silvos in his younger years in reference to his creation of acid, as well as his companion. Sythaerin family colours are dark cyan and evergreen tones, cleft by a slither of silver.

Seregon Talonnii

sere-sullas.thumb.png.6132a6055204f2faff834ca09fe50c71.png

"Fair shall the end be, though long and hard shall be the road.”

Foreword

The Seregon Talonnii is an elven family and house currently situated in the Exilic Kingdom of Númendil with their own landed hold of Caladras. Much of the lineage and past of the family is storied, yet their reach extends beyond their hold with roots and branches extending into a wide sweep of kingdoms and nations. Seregon's history leaves an enduring legacy set out by the Talonnii's founder, Ikur Seregon. Through the patriarchal lead of Ikur and followed with the matriarchal lead of Cálienë Seregon, the family has risen to prominence within the realm. A turning point was reached for the family after the matriarch uprooted their place in Haelun'or and took the remnant members to Barrowton which would later become Nùmendil. A marriage between the Sullas Talonnii and Seregon Talonnii saw Elerríon join as patriarch and equal to Cálienë, and the Seregon's prominence started to take hold as their commitment to the kingdom and to that of Tar-Nùmenatär granted them the Lordship of Caladras.

Characterized by fair skin, lighter hair tones, and a unique balance of physical and academic prowess, the Seregons are known for their determination and sense of justice, the Seregon Talonnii's legacy continues to evolve, leaving an indelible mark on our realm.

Etymology

Seregon is unique among almost all high elven families, the origins of Seregon derive from old Adunic or Almenorean Elven with the words for sereg (“blood”) + gond (“great stone, rock”). While the direct origins and meaning for why this is the case is lost to time, it is theorized that the earliest members of Seregon were affiliated with old Idunia. In all likelihood, the cultures and language around Idunia may have referred to a type of alchemical herb as ‘Seregon’ or “Blood of Stone”.

A. noun. "Blood of Stone", a plant with deep red flowers commonly known as “stonecrop” in Common and “Sedum” in Flexio.

History

The Seregons of yesteryear have a history best forgotten. The achievements of those in the past centuries are far more remarkable than any rumored insanity. Ikur Sullas, former Patriarch, served as Sohaer for an interim period during Axios. The system born from his reign, dubbed the Ikur’onn Sohaer System, has been utilized to this day to ensure a peaceful transition of power during times of strife.

A new chapter of Seregonian History began in early Arcas, with the arrival of Cálienë Seregon, then Dele Velulaei’hiuwvalleierih (lit; Moonbrook) to Laureh’thilln during a period of strife. Some years following her return, then-Patriarch Ikur Sullas returned with his wife, Aiera, and their children. In coming months, Ikur would name Cálienë as his successor as Aiera was legitimized as a Sullas and took up the mantle of Laurir.

The decades following saw the Matriarch and her kin thrive in Lareh’thilln. The name Seregon became synonymous with learning during this time, as the unnamed clinic and the Eternal Library were both staffed by members of the family. Lessons in history, elvish, medicine, and more were led by Seregons. The Laurir Cálienë would serve the Silver Republic for eighty-two years as Okarir’hiylun. An extensive tenure for a republic that lasted only two years longer. As instability and strife became ever more common in Haelun’or, a series of events would lead to the death of Malaurir Azorella Elibar’acal, thus plunging the Silver State into a dark period.

Following her resignation as Okarir’hiylun and the strife that followed Ikur’s resignation from Maheral, many members vacated the Silver State in early Almaris. They were scattered to the four winds, only briefly re-uniting later during the Almaris years before returning to the lives they made for themselves. Celia’nor, The Barrow Marches, and Haelun’or played host to a number of Seregons.

It was within The Barrow Marches and the Lordship of Barrowton that Laurir Cálienë would settle again. The fractures of the family began to mend and rejoin as the matriarch entered a courtship and marriage that would once again tie the Seregon and Sullas families together. In the form of an old friend and student, Light found the Vulture and the animosity of two would become one. Elerríon Sullas, then rescinded from his name, took to the Seregon namesake with their wedding. Years of dedication would lead Elerríon to stand alongside his wife as patriarch to her matriarch.

Following the excisement from Almaris and the arrival to Aevos, a great number of Seregons now live in the White City of Númenost in the Exilic Kingdom of Númendil. With the two family heads effectively exiled from Haelun’or, the Seregons built new roots for themselves oathed to the Adunic king, Tar-Númenatär of House Arthalionath.

Soon enough, the family would see their dedications paid in return as an enfeoffment from Tar-Númenatär would see the Seregons with a true land to their own. The Lordship of Caladras would be founded by the matriarch, Cálienë, and patriarch, Elerríon. The two would become Lady and Lord of the lands, respectively.

Notable Figures

Ikur Seregon, now Sullas, a prominent figure in the history of Haelun'or, remains an intriguing figure of short stature. His legacy is marked by a series of remarkable achievements that have left a lasting impact on the Silver State of Haelun'or. Ikur served as the Okarir'tir, wielding significant influence through military action during the Fringe Wars, a tumultuous period in The Fringe's history. What truly distinguishes him, however, is his lengthy tenure as Haelun'or's Okarir’nor, which he held from the era of the Fringe into the time of Vailor. During his leadership, Notably, he continued to guide the nation as Sohaer during the challenging era of Axios. Ikur played a pivotal role in orchestrating the expulsion of the Uthirate, an Orenian puppet state, from Haelun'or, solidifying his reputation as a resolute and capable leader. In a later chapter, Ikur assumed the role of Maheral, overseeing Haelun'or's cultural development during the Arcas period. His policies were often divisive, with the most notorious being his pact with the Titan Azdromoth, a desperate measure to defend against Inferi forces besieging the realm. Ikur Sullas' enigmatic and complex journey remains a subject of fascination and debate among scholars and historians to this day.

Rinaedith Seregon, a close cousin of Cálienë Seregon and distant cousin of Ikur Sullas, was not public about her life or achievements. Very little is known, even to those who knew her. Rinaedith left Laureh'thilln, and Haelun'or changed forever. She was one of the youngest Okarir'maehr to have served on the Silver Council. She spent much of her youth dedicated to rebuilding the Eternal Library to its former glory. Her term on the council was marked by the large sum of books, and artifacts she managed to curate for the Eternal Library on top of what she restored after the collection had been ransacked. After conflict reached Laureh'thill during the Voidal Incursion, Rinaedith was left blinded after standing against a Voidal Horror that sought to corrupt her fellow mali'aheral. Several years later, Rinaedith resigned and left Haelun'or before her fiftieth birthday. She has not been seen since, but it is rumored she is still traveling the world, teaching and sharing the Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya.

Elerríon Seregon, the current patriarch of the Seregon Talonnii and Lord of Caladras, has a quite outspoken and storied history with his life. His life in Haelun’or began in a stagnant yet tumultuous time period. By the time he was seventeen, the Silver State of Haelun’or had dissolved under threat from the September Prince. The young elf would begin a long chapter of his life without a true home, simultaneously marked with conflict and strife as he participated in several wars and conflicts. When Elerríon returned to Haelun’or, he’d quickly taken up the mantle of Mediir’indor for the Eternal Library, a position and institute he worked with for forty years. His time in Haelun’or would be sporadic at best, several conflicts and other factors would drive the elf away at various points in his life. It was an altercation with Maheral Seth Calith that would see him banished outright. Elerríon moved to the precursor of Númendil with Cálienë, eventually marrying her and being bestowed the patriarch for the Talonnii. He came to be known amongst the Númenaranyë for his efforts and dedication to the fledgling Kingdom and to Tar-Númenatâr Foronathor of House Arthalionath. Through martial skill, scholarly insight, and a tact mindfulness, Elerríon made a name for himself alongside his wife, gaining the favor of his King and a Lordship to safeguard his Talonnii.

Cálienë Seregon, reigning matriarch of House Seregon for the last two hundred years and Lady of Caladras, came from humble roots. The result of a loveless arranged marriage, Cálienë was at large raised by the Daelish community beyond the confines of her parents' farm. By the age of twenty, she departed from this humble life and set off to see the world. Spending a large portion of her childhood and her young adult life, she eventually made her way to the gates of Laureh'thilln in Arcas by her hundred and eighth name day. She remained in Haelun'or, serving tirelessly as a Physician, and even further as Okarir'hiylun, until she was simply too tired to keep going. She departed from the Silver State sometime after the arrivial to Almaris, disappearing from the public eye for decades to come. When she returned to it, she was just as vocal and opinionated as before, and found herself once more departing from the company of the High Elves. She arrived in the Barrowlands with little but wooden crates she'd never unpacked in Asul'hileia. In between stacking books on shelves and the incessant, endless rain, as well as in her service to  Tar-Númenatâr Foronathor of House Arthalionath that Cálienë found peace, god, and a new life. A new life that only prospered further with every new day with the guidance of her husband Elerríon.

Traditions

Talonnii Heraldry

For much of their history as a Haelun’orian Talonnii, the Seregon Talonnii was represented simply with a red diamond punctuated by a white star. Little is known about the origins of this symbolism, except for the traditional implications of ‘war’ and ‘purity’ associated with those colors, among Mali’aheral. For centuries, this was the case.

With the Lordship bestowed upon Elerríon and Cálienë, a rebranding appeared to be needed. To highlight their joint stewardship over the family, and the efforts of both present and former Seregons, a shield was designed. Seregon red in hue, stamped in the center with the Sullas medallion, a sprawling silver and Aurum star presides; flanked by the vulture that symbolized the tenure of Ikur Sullas in days past.

Daelish Traditions

Dancing

Daelish dancing is a traditional dance form that originated in Daelish culture. It is characterized by intricate footwork, precise movements, and the use of the arms held close to the body. Dancers often perform in kilts and wear traditional Daelish attire. Some of the most famous Daelish dances include the Sword Dance and the Daelish Fling. These dances were historically performed to commemorate victories in battle or special occasions.

Marriage

Handfasting is an ancient Daelish marriage ceremony that predates modern Canonist wedding customs. In this ritual, a couple would come together before witnesses and a clergyman, and their hands would be bound together with a ribbon or cord, symbolizing their commitment to one another. Handfasting was often a temporary commitment, with couples agreeing to be married for a specific period, usually a year and a day, after which they could choose to formalize their marriage or part ways.

Daelish Language

The Daelish language was spoken in various dialects throughout Daeland. It has deep historical roots and is considered one of the Daelish’s oldest languages. While Common is mainly spoken in modern Daelish communities, Daelish words and phrases are still used in everyday conversation, particularly in informal settings.

Jewel of the Seregon - Seregon’s Sigil

The current head of the Talonnii, be it patriarch or matriarch, carries with them the Seregon’s Sigil. It is a newer tradition, crafted by Elerríon himself.

Seregon’s Sigil

A pendant necklace of pure, polished silver that held ten diamonds in a radiant constellation around the bottom edge. A radiant silver, four-pointed star is set into the front of the pendant with a larger Aurum four-pointed star over that. On either side of the top edge, Aurum carved vultures are set into the pendant, each with ruby eyes. In the center of the overlaid radiant stars, a yellow danburite stone is flanked by four sapphires. Washed into the recessed outlines would be a treatment of Glimmerstone which caused those outlines to emit a dull, white light. An engraving on the back of the pendant reads, ‘Fair shall the end be, though long and hard shall be the road.’

Description

Features

The members of the Seregon family are fair-skinned, often freckled with sun-exposure, and with softer and more rounded features. With any extensive elven family, traits vary, but the Seregons almost unilaterally have lighter hair tones, such as golden blonde, golden red, or even silver. Silver hair is typical of the Elibar’acal-Seregon line from which Ikur Sullas descends from. Golden blonde and golden-reds are more likely to occur in individuals from the Velulaei’vallehiuwerih-Seregon line, which Cálienë Seregon descends from. The height of a Seregon remains on average for most high elves, between 5’10” and 6’4”, but notably the women descended from the bloodline err on the taller side than the men. Unlike many high elven families, an almost outlier trait for many Seregons is their fuller figures and wider framed features.

Much of the Seregon family are martial with a tendency for physical strength and the occupations and hobbies that go along with that. A Seregon holds both their academic pursuits and their physical skills in equal value, but may favor one over the other in times of peace or in times of strife. The balance of knowledge and physical prowess lead many Seregons towards occupations such as; farming, fighting, smithing, and teaching.

An unusual trait for many High Elves, Seregons shun all Voidal Magics due to the poisoning of the body. While a few have taken to the practice, they are considered outliers which lead some Seregons to take up Fi’harren’tayna. One of the most notable Fi “Mages” being Ikur Sullas. In recent decades, the Seregons have begun to lean into the practices of Templarism and Paladinism.

Temperament

The Seregons are often head-strong with a propensity for arrogant behaviors. Dedication and passion for themselves and their loved ones brings a sense that a Seregon may seem quick to anger and vengeful to correct wrongdoing. Yet, for every bit of that explosive passion is the intrinsic understanding and pursuit for the greater good. A Seregon with rage in their eyes likely has just cause to back up that anger.

Spoiler

The intention of this was to rewrite and document a concise and up-to-date culture and record for the Seregon family. In many ways, it will become a guide for players who are set to join the Seregon family. Bearing in mind that this document should be considered loose and not a stringent set of requirements and traits for characters descending from or joining the Seregon family.

I wanted to extend a gracious amount of credit to @Stump and @Demented_Delilafor some of the work that has gone into this record. Further than that, there has been a great number of players who have played or still play characters for the Seregon family. If it was not for them, this document and record would be meaningless. A tremendous amount of care is extended to those players.

If you want to play a character for there Seregon family, or perhaps you already do and aren’t connected to us, reach out to me here on the forums or through Discord @ kyrrn
