Ser Rickard stared at the dead Hyspian covered with a tarp after the agreement was signed. He grimaced, but hoped that the new Princess would do well for her people.

Kezmur was confused. How could the armless, scarred man sign an agreement? He was shocked he was still considered alive. Whatever the case, Hyspian independence perhaps meant the desert could see some peace.

The body of Vicente Murietta II laid there, surrounded in a pool of his own blood and covered by a tarp. His last moments spent cursing Haense, cursing those he saw as conspirators, and cursing those he saw as betraying the ideals of Hyspia. Would his predictions come to pass, or would they be remembered as the final ravings of a war-scarred man who lost his mind in his final moments? Time would tell, but Vicente himself would never know. All he would know is death, and whatever came after.

Ser Jose Fuentes, the Margrave of Coracoa, sharpened his blade in the barracks of the Hyspian Regiment in dead silence. He hadn't gone to the meeting to do anything grievous, he had only gone as a courtesy for the Crown. A man he called brother, had toasted with, had fought with, dead at his own hands. He continued to sharpen the blade, knowing it would never get easier.
