An open letter from our founder, Jorvin Starbreaker

My loyal customers, sons and daughters of Urguan, Malin, Krug, and descendants of those loyal men and women of Horen who, for years, purchased and wielded my wares in battle. As you may recall, Starbreaker Arms Co. Was once one of the most famous and prolific weapon-dealerships in the world, once outfitting the entirety of the Urguanite Legion, and hundreds of civilians with quality, affordable Dwarvish steel, produced by a clan of smiths continuing traditions that began at the dawn of the Elder Days. I, after ascending the Obsidian Throne in the 1774th year of the First Age, retired the company, and passed the mantle of Starbreaker business onto my younger clansdwed, Ulfar and Lulubelle, the former of whom remains in business today, and is an exceedingly skilled Craftsdwed in his own right.

I have remained in retirement for many years, pursuing my own personal affairs, as my hoard has long-since grown past the point of my needing to churn a profit. In spite of that, I am a son of Gotrek, and my heart longs for the forge, I long for the days when my name was known across the land not for my deeds, but for my skill, and when everybody from the simple soldier, to mighty kings of men carried my steel into battle, and trusted in it to protect them and their loved ones. My weapons slew dragons, voidal horrors, undead, and Orenians by the score, and in each one of those glorious moments, I am proud to have played my small part. I want to see my wares wielded by a new generation, and earn new glory, both for me and you.

And so, because of that, I am proud to announce the GRAND REOPENING of the Starbreaker Arms Company. Est 1720! Right outside the Gates of Urguan!

CUSTOM ORDERS AND LOYALTY PROGRAM

Nothing in our catalog suits your tastes? That's alright, because I’m also reopening commissions, since I am once again working the forge, I might as well, aye? Commission prices vary widely, and though churning a profit isn’t my primary goal these days, I’m still a Grimdugan-fearing Dwarf after all, and so they will almost always be more expensive then one of my standard creations. However, this is where the loyalty program comes in. If you can come to me with a weapon I previously made (prior to my retirement, specifically) I am willing to halve the price of any item you wish to purchase, custom and stock. Furthermore, if you’re in possession of an item made by Clan Grimgold? Bring it to me to melt down, and I’ll replace it- Again, at half the price.

Want to commission a custom order? Here’s a quick list of what I can and can’t do. (Note, if you want something made of a fancy material, you must provide said material in either raw or ingot form, or provide me something to melt down.)

I can make. . .

MUNDANE (STEEL/GOLD)

DAEMONSTEEL
STARSTEEL

AZHL

BOOMSTEEL

THAHNIUM

CARBARUM

I can’t make. . .

Ironwood (I’m a smith, not a florist.)

Demon-Metal (I’ve never had the chance to work it)

Dragon-Metal (I’ve never had the chance to work it)

Alchemical Umgak (I’m a smith, not a chemist.)

BULK ORDERS AND MERCENARY CONTRACTS

Need to equip your burgeoning horde for World Domination? Luckily for you, I have minimal scruples in regards to who I arm, so long as they have no intention of turning those blades towards my Dwarfen kin, and aren’t begrudged by my clan or kingdom. Need fifty spears for your militia? Give me a weekend. Need a hundred? Give me a month. I’ll arm them all, and at a discounted price. Finally, want to see a Starbreaker weapon wielded by a professional? For only a small fee, I’ll show you! What's that I hear you say, I’m a smith and not a mercenary? While that is true, I need an excuse to get outside more, as I have left Urguan less than half a dozen times in the last century. I’ll not only make weapons for you- I’ll fight alongside you (representing myself only and maybe a few of my clansdwed, not the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, and only if granted leave by the Grand King and my wife). Note, I will not, under any circumstances, participate in banditry, nor will I fight in conflicts in which I have been barred by my king. But I’ve got a very fancy runic hammer, and little excuse to use it. This service is only available to customers who’ve previously purchased some of my wares, and is offered at a discounted rate if the opposing army is comprised of Orcs, descendant-houses of the House of Horen, High Elves, Mika Anarion, or Lefkos the High Elf.

Illynora Sylvaeri remembered a time, twenty years before the shop's official establishment, when a young Jorvin Starbreaker was finding his feet as a smith and as a merchant in the harbour city of Aegrothond. She read over the pamphlet and smiled, resolving to make the trip to Urguan if only to be reminded of times long since passed.
