These are its leaders, its guiding hands, and its most faithful servants. His Excellency, The Lord Chancellor, Frantzisko Cardinal Albarosa@cadazio The Lord Chancellor serves as the head of the Heartlandic Council, and a leader to all others who sit upon it, uniting the offices below him and ensuring they work in cohesion. It is the sworn duty of the Chancellor to carry out the will of the Crowns within the government of the Heartlands, and to serve the needs of all its people. He is the right hand of the sovereigns, and the second-highest authority in the Heartlander Confederation. Alongside coordinating overarching projects within the Heartlandic Council, the Lord Chancellor is in charge of ensuring the duties of the council’s offices are carried out accurately to the wishes of the sovereigns, and that all upon it exemplify the ideals and values of the Confederation in their work. In the event of the incapacitation of the sitting Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor assumes all authority of the office. The Legion stands composed of soldiers prepared to hold the line against all forces that would threaten the Heartlandic people, preserving the safety within its cities’ walls. The Lord Marshal serves as the leader of the Legion, and directs all military endeavors within the Heartlands. His sworn duty is the protection and safety of the Heartlander Confederation, and all who call it their home. His Highness, The High Commissioner, Johannes von Alstreim@Balthasar The High Commissioner, originally named for the procurement of letters of credence for Crown Ambassadors during the reign of Edmund II, serves as the chief emissary of the Crowns, tasked with travelling abroad under Their Majesties banner to build the nation’s foreign relations, drafting treaties and pacts, and keeping Their Majesties personally apprised of world events. The High Commissioner has overall responsibility for delivering the nation’s foreign policy objectives and for strategic oversight of the Service. Underneath the High Commissioner are the Crown Ambassadors, who are empowered to conduct diplomacy on the realm’s behalf; charged with journeying abroad and improving relations with their foreign counterparts, as well as attending international events on the Crown’s behalf where necessary. It maintains public spending, legislates for taxes, and sets a course of direction for the economic agenda. With these goals in mind, the Treasury ensures the competitiveness of the economy, ready to deliver for local communities. His Excellency, The Grand Speaker, Sir Atticus Reinhold@Hom The Garmont Assembly of the Heartlands serves as the center of the Confederation’s legislature, where a selection of representatives from the nation’s esteemed peers and elected officials will gather to present and discuss bills, edicts, and amendments relating to the Confederation’s codex. Issues of national interest will also be deliberated between the representatives, and nationally-funded projects may be proposed for the assembly to approve. The Grand Speaker functions as the leader and facilitator of the Garmont Assembly, as an impartial mediator and guide to the discussions that occur within. The Speaker manages the scribes of the assembly, and assists and advises the representatives where needed on the submission of bills and edicts. During assembly, the Grand Speaker serves as the leading voice of every meeting. She seeks to provide opportunity for the people of the Heartlands within its Courts, holding the authority and responsibility of hiring servantry for both royal houses. The Lady Chamberlain oversees the natural cultural and education exchange between the Provinces of Petra and Aaun, and takes charge in pushing forward to a united Heartlander culture His Excellency, The Court Chaplain, Jean Bishop Saint Godwin@LithiumSedai The Court Chaplain serves as the representative of the Church within the royal courts, appointments to this position generally reserved only for the most pious and senior clergymen within the Archdiocese of Albarosa. Responsible for ensuring the spiritual well-being of any and all courtiers, they are expected to lead prayer, administer the Canonist sacraments, offer spiritual counsel, and to help serve as a bridge between the nation and Church where necessary to ensure that faith remains a central aspect of courtly life.
