GOD FORBID PEOPLE HAVE FUN ON NOBLE CHARACTERS. BUT WHY ARE THERE ZEEERROOOO PEASANTS. THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS SKEEWEEED! SKEWED!

LOTC HAS STRAYED TOO FAR FROM THE HANDS OF THE FLEEPER CLASS. THE HILLBILLY GUARDSMEN, THE SICKLE-BEARING PEASANTS HAVE NO VOICE.

AND WHILE THAT IS NORMAL IN MEDIEVAL SOCIETY, IT IS NOT THAT THEY HAVE NO VOIC BECAUSE THEY ARE IGNORED. THEY HAVE NO VOICE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT EXIST!!!

BRING PEASANTRY TO LOTC............... BRING LOW IQ BRAINLETS INTO CITIES, TOWNS.... WHY DOES EVERYBODY KNOW WHAT THE HELL AN 'ARTIFICIER' IS....

i know this is a joke post but i actually think one of the reasons there aren't a lot of peasant characters is because in a lot of places being involved and active in the community will get you nicely promoted, so a lot of people who start out as average joes but hang around and participate a lot get offered stuff like leadership opportunities and upward social movement, leading to them not being average joe peasants anymore. or at the very least, this is what i've seen happen to a lot of characters where i play, as well as basically what happened to myself. imo this is a good thing! it leaves an unrealistic gap in the social ladder sure, but it helps people get broadened RP opportunities on the flip side

^ This actually is pretty factual, though maybe its not the best comparison. I still remember when we made a mundane average joe farmer, into a dope undead Darkstalker Knight. @flexMate

Get some like-minded people and make a humble farming community. Nothing will go wrong.

literally some of the most fun i’ve ever had on this server was running around Oren as a deaf street rat she pissed off the nobles and it was great

Go run around and be a street rat, my loves

I invite you to live tax-free in the Hamlet of Enswerp. The floors are made of dirt, and the farm work is back breaking.

social mobility is real. people don't do peasant roleplay because most would rather do ballroom gossiping than farm roleplay (my P&P narrative arc is real). plus if you're cool people will give you things to do which probably aren't threshing weat, therefore you're no longer a peasant. I think we've struck a good balance currently where if people want to be nobles they almost always can be, and if people want to be peasants they always can be, rather than a situation where almost noone is a noble and having a title is massively gatekept.

tldr people can do what they want and thats probably for the best

I love peasant RP. Nicolas Murietta loves his farm. He has no dreams of social mobility. All he knows is farm wheat, oversee cattle, and be happy
