Love it. Gives elves the opportunity to look less like humans but with pointy ears. +1

I very much enjoy the idea of all of these. It adds a cute level of whimsy to character creation; it may not be needed, but it’s certainly cute.

I don't want the comments that are Against this addition to drown out the ones that are For, so I want to say that I really like this addition. They're minor aesthetical changes that allow individual variations of the subraces that don't require someone to seek a special line of RP that may or may not be gatekept. It's inherently something that adds flavor to Rp instead of something that must be earned.

To everyone worried about making elves more of "Main Characters", why not write and submit your own lore for the race you'd like to see have some aesthetical changes?

(And if you're a human player upset about this unimplemented idea, it's your fault for making a human in a fantasy rp setting.)

Hi - yes.

While introduced as optional, these niche aesthetic identifiers may be interpreted as defining characteristics of each subtype (if implemented). Elven subtypes have incredible variation within different nations and cultures. For example, the cave eyes or the star spots may not make sense for how certain groups interpret their Mali'Ker. I worry that these changes may direct or narrow the creativity that individuals pursue in developing their interpretation on a subtype/culture or may result in additional requests for changes that allow individuals of these subtypes to have their desired aesthetics implemented.

As it stands, wood elves already have many ways to obtain animalistic attributes or pigmented skin. Similarly, there are ways for elves to roleplay sun spots or unnatural looking eyes. Adding it part of the inherent race attributes may actually impair the RP significance and meaning of these characteristics. In addition, using current methods allows any an elf from any subtype to pursue unique avenues of RP without feeling that their aesthetic is already largely decided.

All this being said, I do think the changes are fun and cool.

All proposed changes are optional, and again,

specified that lacking these additional features does not mean they are impure.

If a culture feels they do not align, they do not need to take them and players can pursue those unique avenues of RP!

I think that you are misunderstanding that none of these are intended to be a compulsory or mandatory, just being there as an option to take if you want it.

Regarding the wood elves, I gave them minor features that aren’t really comparable to Druidism which can offer better traits (I specifically made them smaller/less intense)- the argument you put here I feel actually falls into the one you put above against the additions, in a way you are forcing them down a specific path of RP to get those features; Something I was trying to possibly provide a path away from- basically options.

the more unique elves look, the easier it is to identify and oppress them. +1

Anyone who disagrees with this hates whimsy. Like. Literally what is the reasoning against things that don't exist on a fantasy minecraft server when they don't DO anything but look cool? Suzzie's done this well to create some reasoning for each aspect, they offer no combative or even narrative advantage or disadvantage, and like I said.... it's all fantasy. Elves don't exist anyway. Who cares if they don't look like humans?

This lore has been veto’d.

tldr this is beyond purview of standard lore review and fundamental changes to core races are admin pushed (and ultra mega ultra rare)
