The throne room of white marble fell silent as the Imperial Dragon Knight wrenched his blade free from the back of Emperor Hadrian, steel rasping against bone like a war hymn. Blood spilled across the twin-headed eagle sigil beneath them, dark and glistening beneath the vaulted dome of gold and smoke-stained frescoes. The Emperor’s crown clattered down the marble steps, ringing once—sharp and final—as the dragon-crested knight stood unmoving behind the collapsing throne. His armor, etched with scaled sigils and scorched by a hundred campaigns, steamed in the torchlight as if the beast upon his banner still breathed through him. Outside, thunder rolled over the capital’s spires, and the war-drakes chained atop the battlements shrieked as though they felt the treachery in their bones. Courtiers trembled in their silks, too terrified to flee, as crimson traced slow rivers through the cracks of the ancient stone. And when the knight lifted his blood-wet blade to the high windows of the empire, he did not look like a traitor—he looked like the beginning of a new dynasty. RAMADAN HAS ARRIVED!

 

Ramadan has come once more, it has been around since 2016? 2017? Since I have been writing a Ramadan post for LOTC and once again, it is an honor to do such in this blessed month of Ramadan, Almost 10 years. Yikes I need to get off this server.

 

Now for those new to this, Let me begin with one simple Question.

“What is Ramadan Ibraheemc2000 you absolute unit?”
 

Well I am glad you asked, please please relax I am just your normal block game Roleplayer that isn't as weird as you guys! Edhem. . . Sorry.

Ramadan is the Ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar, but I hear you already asking? “Why is the ninth so special?” Well my friends Ramadan is the month in which the Quran & Revelation was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). In this month, because of such a blessing, and commandment from GOD(I am going to start saying GOD’s name in the Arabic language as it glorifies him the most, Cough even Arab Christians use Allah.), Muslims from around the world begin fasting from food and drinks from Sunrise(Fajr) and sunset(Maghreb), In the Quran it is described as “Better than a Thousand months”.

For many of you who are not aware, LOTC has a large Muslim player base, many of them will be taking part in this great month of efforts, and it is good to know and understand why so many of our playerbase, might be even taking the ENTIRE MONTH off of LOTC! PLEASE STICK TO THE END OF THE POST FOR YOUR ANNUAL LOTC RAMADAN CHALLENGE(Yes everyone can partake)

“Okay Ibraheem, that's cool and all, but is there anything else?” To that I say, Well I am glad you asked! In Ramadan Muslims believe in a large plethora of Blessings and rewards in Ramadan! 

• Some of these Massive rewards, is that we believe when fasting in faith, your previous sins are forgiven!
• Another is that we believe that the Gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed AND the Shayateen(Devils) are locked up!
• That a single good deed is multiplied by 70! That means One smile in Ramadan racks you up to 70 good deeds! JUST FOR SMILING!(You know my cheeks gonna be hurting)
• That Fasting Serves as a Shield from Hell fire!
• That the Dua(Sublications/ Requests) made during this month have a significantly higher chance of acceptance or given something 10x better for that person!
• Unites the Ummah!

 

Now, now, I hear you wannabe Imams out there “Ibraheem, Astagfirallah, give them some more understanding on FASTING.” to that I say. “I AM SORRY AMU! PUT THE SHOE AWAY!”

Edhem.. Sorry I get a little too excited this time of year.

One of reasons Muslims fast is to Humble themselves to remember the unfortunate, Those that one any day of the year, might have not had food for days, no water, and gone through immense difficulty. In a very firm seriousness it reminds us to 1. Be grateful to Allah for all the blessings we have. There are those who do not even have the warmth of jackets, nor the softness of a bed And 2. It provides a discipline, and strong will to control our desires, even those that are Halal(Permissible) for us, such as Food and Drink. It teaches us and trains us to overcome our own selfishness, and look inward for better personal development.

 

Another great blessing is, if Fasting correctly(more on this in a minute) You will gain an immense amount of health benefits. I can already see those chads here who like to go to the gym and get fit leaning into their screen like it's the last  5v5 in a 400 v 400 warclaim!

When you fast in this way, it actually detoxes the body. Now here is the breakdown of each stage of the thirty days of fasting!

 

• Stage 1, during the first couple of days of fasting both blood sugar level and blood pressure level drops, and the body begins the cleansing process, the first few days are the hardest as they are usually accompanied with headaches, dizziness, nausea and intense hunger.

 

• Stage 2, during the second stage, the body becomes accustomed to the fasting schedule, and the digestive system is able to rest. The Digestive system’s energy now focuses on cleansing the body and healing the cells as the white blood cells start to become more active. During this stage the organs start their repair process as well.

 

• Stage 3, by the third stage energy levels will have increased, your mind is able to concentrate better, and an overall feeling of wellness, During fasting the body’s healing process becomes more efficient, and so the body repairs any damaged cells during this stage, during this stage the colon, liver, kidney, lungs and skin are detoxing by eliminating toxins.

 

• Stage 4, during the last ten days of fasting, the body has become accustomed to the fasting process, your body becomes more energetic and you experience of improved memory and concentration, at this stage the organs are finishing up their healing process and once all toxics are removed the body is able to function at it’s maximum capacity.

 

These are just SOME of the physical benefits of fasting that will take place in the body. But your good deeds you do this month will feel FAR better than anything you do this month!

What's that I hear? “Ibraheem! This is Amazing! You get Self Disciplined, You become self aware, There are some blessings, and MASSIVE HEALTH BENEFITS! What else can such a month do! This has to be it right?”

Hehehe *Insert Cool Main Character voice* “IF ONLY YOU KNEW!” *Cracks knuckles*

Not only this, because of the immense blessings this month (x70) Muslims go Hyper Driven and Competitive on their charity! Now I can tell you are asking “Thats cool but that doesnt see-” WRONG! You see, it is an innate part of Ramadan. Remember when I told you about how it humbles you and think about those who are least fortunate? Well It is an actual part of Ramadan to go out and give charity or do charitable acts! Do we fast from sunrise to sunset? But some people don't eat for days, they sit in harsh winters in the elements, and it is a duty upon every muslim to act and do what they can either by taking action, paying, or making hefty dua.
 

Remember that part on Discipline, it teaches us, that with that money, yeah, I could have bought a cool minecraft roleplaying server’s specific V.I.P, Sure I could have gotten the new cool friend group game we will only play 4 times before it goes on the shelf with the other games *Internal sobs*. No, instead, we learn to do the selfless act, and give it out. It's a lot easier to say, than to do for many, if not a majority of people.

Now, I did mention one thing, Fasting the right way. I can already hear some fancy pants person as I always get EVERY year, keyboard warrior style typing; “IBRAHEEM FASTING IS BAD FOR YOU! RAAA! YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE PEOPLE GET SICK BY NOT TAKING THEIR MEDICINE OR NOT HYDRATING AHHHH!”

First of all. . . Chill bro habibi, I got you, lemi lay down a few things. . . and brush your teeth, you got bad breath like uncle from overseas who has not brushed since 1979! Edhem. . . You are exempt from fasting if you poor, on your time of the month(women stuff), medical needs such as medicine or emergencies, and if you vomit and extra, please consult with your local imam for more details or look online, TDLR Fast if you are able, and do not fast if you cannot medically)

 

Fasting actually super healthy for you, IF YOU DO IT CORRECTLY, you are not supposed to have giant feasts, but small healthy dinners, and not overeat, a common mistake which takes place when fasting, because people fast all day and when they can break their fast, they go all in with a huge plate, instead they should eat small portions and healthy foods, and hydrate well!  This is heavily encouraged and how the Prophet (S.A.W) and his companions would do their Ramadan.

With that said, in Ramadan we are told to learn to control our tempers, our tongues, and our desires. To build ourselves to be better, and to help build our local communities.

 

Now as promised.

Now for those who are unaware, Every Ramadan, I give a Challenge to all the non Muslims and the Muslims during Ramadan, Last year was completely insane. More people partook than I had seen before. BUT I believe we can crush last year and absolutely destroy this year's challenge.

I love the random nature of LoTC's roleplay, RP that I have never participated in and will not ever know about, random interactions ripple out to affect everything and its impossible to accurately arrange and predict what will happen with 100% clarity. 

 @ScreamingDingoI appreciate your consistent dedication to the server's wellbeing whether through your old staff work or current interactions IRP/OOC. We used to not see eye to eye but I appreciate your input contrasting my own, I am not perfect and should be challenged.

1. @TheWyrdWolfthank yew for dragging me into stuff all the time, on the good guy side and bad guy side.

I've been thinking more about Squawk's answer during the CT meeting about what makes LOTC special, and I think there really is something special to how player action drives the outcomes of most things. There's some lessons on being bold enough to pursue goals in character, and having friends that encourage you too that I've appreciated learning.
