[Real-Talk] - Client Mods

This is what I've been looking forward to for a while now. This is what the server needs - if players like it or not. Not only is this great for the server's plugins - maybe allowing us to have a interface for book reading, spells, possibly even removal of name plates(Debatable), it would also open up a wider range of mods for us.

But, Vaq, I think it should not be a .jar file, I say the best thing to do is to create a simple mod installer, step by step. Would be much more convenient for the player base if it was done this way, because while most people on this server know how to add/remove mods, there might be a minority that do NOT, of which this would help them with a simple step-by-step "setup wizard" for the modpack.

Overall, I give Client Mods my full support, I hope to see them added in the near future!

I agree with this completely. One of the things I don't think was mentioned yet is the fact that, should the minecraft community find out that LotC is independent from minecraft and is doing it's own little jig, we would draw in a LOT more players. Something that directly corresponds to that is we would have to step up the strictness of our Application Team, and therefore decrease the ratio of bad-RPers, metagamers, powergamers, etc., and increase the ratio of good/factastic-RPers.

All in all this is a great idea and, at the rate we are going with these implementations, I could see us next being sold for money on XBox360 and PS3 :D (joke).

If this does eventually turn out on the client.. will it still work on the Xbox? Mojang announced that it would make Minecraft for Xbox compatible with all non-client Minecraft servers.. so would the server still work without the client?

Do it vaq. I love the idea and don't mine downloading a simple .jar file.

As long as it works on macs too I'm fine. :)
