  1. I'll be streaming LotC in 15 minutes www.twitch.tv/roleplaybythebay

  2. Couldn't have said it better, hahaha.
  3. The divided nature and weakness in the orc nation at this point serves as a great opportunity for reformation. We should all discuss what's most important to orcs as a culture, as a race, as a community, and ask ourselves what works and what doesn't work for us. I'll make my own post about this soon, but I'm all for helping the orcs get back together.

  5. I'm sitting here laughing my ass off at this. Is that a language? What are you saying?
  6. Welcome, my friend. Making lore posts about your character here on the forums would be a good start to developing him/her. Good luck out there in Axios.
  7. This also works. It can be fulfilling to try to come up with cool and interesting stuff to tack-on to your character, but often it becomes just that: a tack-on. It's up to you. If you're into writing, and you study up on the lore for the server, what you're writing doesn't become useless. But unless you're willing to commit to it and work with other people to make sure it won't become an unnecessary addition to your character... it will become an unnecessary addition to your character. At the end of the day, if you find yourself writing too much because you want something to enrich your RP, just stop, log in, and play, as Praetor said. As someone who often does what you're trying to do, I've forgotten about that side of things. Often the fulfillment that you're looking for by creating some new, cool thing could easily be achieved by just RPing with other people and creating a storyline that develops your character naturally. Thanks Praetor for your simplistic words of wisdom
  8. This is possible in-game, at least somewhat, but it would have to be through some sort of existing magic on the server. Maybe take a look through a few of the magics on the Lord of the Craft wiki and see if you can find one that could possibly lead to your character being left as a "living ragdoll"? You should also clarify what you mean by that, and using existing magic to clarify it is even better. The next step in making it really official would be to write a lore post about it. Talking to Lore Masters about making your idea work with the existing lore on the server will ensure that you don't get people saying "How come your character is like that? Is that breaking the rules?" We all base our characters off existing people and ideas, to some extent. Our own characters are an extension of ourselves. This depends on how far you intend on "basing" your character off an existing one. If you simply like the personality or mannerisms of a webcomic character and you want to emulate that in your own character, that's fine! The only thing that could possibly be going too far is making your character a one-for-one copy of that other character, especially if doing so would end up breaking server lore. A good example I can think of is Sherlock Holmes. We had an organization on the server a long time ago called "Holmes", it was a detective organization. That's as far as the direct reference went, though. They didn't go around shouting, "I live on 221B Baker Street!" or "Elementary, dear Watson!" They were just emulating the style of Sherlock Holmes (detectives, magnifying glasses, pipes, etc.) in a way that could still be seen naturally on the server. If that helps.
  9. I'm really looking forward to seeing bards and music become a more contributing part of LotC's roleplay! Not sure how it'll be done, per-say, but it will be cool I'm sure! Also, good on you for getting something like this out, Gladuos! Long time no see.
  10. Happy that winter break is starting soon! Hopefully we'll get more people online now

  11. Please check out today's video if you haven't already! http://bit.ly/2aJFvoh

  12. I totally would, but I'd probably need permission for fly/invis to do a video of good quality!
  13. Hello friends. This is a little trailer/cinematic feature I put together using clips of the Vailor -> Axios event, and some shots of Axios itself. The music is original, composed by yours truly. The title of the music is "Lord of the Craft - Axios". It is the (unofficial) theme of Axios. Thank you guys so much for watching, and let me know what you thought of it, and if you want to see more highlight videos like these in the future!
  14. Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to get on at all today. Let me know how the first day of Axios is going!

  15. Recorded the entire Vailor -> Axios transfer event that took place today. Hope those of you that weren't able to make it get the gist of what happened, and those that were there enjoy it nonetheless! I'm planning to make a highlight video of the event later, too! Thanks for watching!
  16. Full Vailor to Axios Transition event video -

  17. About to upload my recording of the whole event. Will post here, for those that missed it.

Lol, it's going to take 30 minutes to render, so expect it in a few hours. :P

  18. Awesome event. Recorded the whole thing, will be coming soon.

  19. Excited for the transition event(s) today. I'll see you guys online, hopefully!

  20. This may beyond some sort of client-side fix. It might have to do with the server LotC is hosted on itself. Not really sure. Doing anything to reduce how hard your Minecraft has to work should help a little, at least. Lowering graphics from "fancy" to "fast", etc. If they're already there... Best of luck to ya! Haha. Sadly we don't have a very good way of connecting with our leads about how to fix issues like this.
  21. Thank you for promoting roleplay by expanding upon this already-implemented creature. I believe you've handled your redlines fairly. Although, concerning interactions with druids and the ker wolf, I think it will simply be a case-by-case basis. There are many many combinations of situations that could occur. Experienced druid vs. unloyal ker wolf, unexperienced druid trying to convince generally loyal ker wolf to attack decently armed foe, experienced druid trying to convince very loyal ker wolf to not attack semi-threatening robed man... the combinations are many. I would say that rolls would solve this problem, but unfortunately LotC doesn't allow magic tiers, loyalty, or other factors influence /rolling. Perhaps they should. Regardless... Very good!
