I don't think it's all Minecraft servers @KBR on some other servers I've been able to see people extremely far away when on lotc people don't load in unless they're right in my face

Pretty sure it's TPS lag, it took me 30 minutes to get someone's sheep back into a pen for them, and it involved me having to yank them up into the air.

Yeah but oddly it only happens a certain distance from the player in my experience.

It's because mob AI is mentally retarded. Leashes barely even work in singleplayer, let alone laggy servers.

Im a spawn lurker and proud

sure they get the feeling of a lively server when they get to spawn, but then they get to the destitute world filled with 600 empty cities. et events are often one off disasters that have no build up or fruition, rather than longer stories.
