*A vibration can be felt through the winds over Archaerus of the Ebony Blade, as the guild master of the Eventide tends to his duties when suddenly a glint can be seen coming out of the sky. Swirling through the air the object can finally be seen as some sort of blue orb. The orb shoots through the building straight past the guild master narrowly missing a vase before circling round it and flinging itself straight back towards him. Finally stopping but a few feet away from the guild master. Spinning on its axis the orb flashes twice before starting to vibrate. An echo is heard before the voice of an old man speaks to you:* "I have heard that your goals have alined against those who abuse magic for their own selfish needs. Those who would burn down towns, threaten others and generally be a nuisance more than anything else. I'd also assume that you align yourselves against darknesses like the north as well as other kinds of dark magic hmm? If so then I humbly introduce myself. I am Blundermore WindRaker, a Wizard whom studies the Arcane arts as well as the divine. And I believe that you... and I... may not be too different from one another. You see for quite a while now I've watched as the arts of magic was twisted into a science. How magics once used to defend the people's of Aegis were turned on themselves by this new ilk of magi whom come like a pestilence on us. Rogue magi who burn our homes and slaughter our loved ones like it was merely a game. I have seen tyrant mages come, claiming themselves master of all... Gods of their time merely because they can cast a flame in their hands. I have seen many pilfer the destructive nature, nah rape the destructive nature of magic for their own ends. And quite frankly I am quite as much fed up as I assume you and others are. If you're interested, continue to lend your ears. I am what could be considered one of the few left who follow the old ways, not the last. .. hopefully. But our numbers are few as it is. Anyways, with what I've said in mind, I've taken it upon myself to form what I thought I would never do, I've formed a group, a guild an order if you will. Whom's teachings and skills I plan on harkening back to an older time. When magic was respected for what it was, as means to understand the world around. A means of self enlightenment, a path of peace. When magic was used to defend the mortal races of this world. It shall be so that this order will be based around the lost defensive magics. Magics made to defend or even silence other more destructive kinds of magic. Magic isn't a tool to be misused the way it is. It's much more than that. It's a way of life, a dedication. A study, a craft. Not a science. I hope to achieve great things with this order... this Order of the White Tower. The revival of the old ways... the safety and security of knowing that there isn't some mad man practicing rituals to destroy our treasured homesteads. Or defiling our dead. The four races did not survive the torment of the Undead to have it replaced by evil men and women with exactly the same intentions. It will take time for my idea to become apparent however. I was not joking when I said that the defensive magics were lost to most, I have take on students that I shall have to train. But with time, they shall be as valuable as any in this struggle for long lasting peace, within and without. If you are interested in following up on this... Please do send me a message... All magic is natural. Why? The entire world is made from magic, every little thing. There is no such thing as "un-natural magic", at least not by what is comprehend by many mortals of LOTC. True un-natural magic would be something outside of the realms of even the creator's creations, which we have never come across as of yet.

The Ascended are physically weaker once they train for a substantial amount of time, and any form of physical combat would be based around grace and agility more than physical punch. Most if not all Ascended are incapable of wearing anything but light plated armour at the most and are incapable of using heavy brutish two handed weapons. Ever Orc Ascended would suffer greatly in strength, but from this weakness in strength an Orc Ascended would become much smarter and more understandable than the average orc instead. Weapons Ascended could use would be such things as rapier swords, daggers, light pole-arms and halberds, spears, battle staves (the common weapon of the Ascended) and light maces. We had these downsides set up long before any downsides were ever thought out for the rest of magic on LOTC, and Undead from what I remember follow a similar pattern as well, although be it they rely more heavily on destructive magic than actual weapons. Whilst Ascended rely more heavily on Defensive magic and magic used to evade harm (Blink, wards etc).

I asked myself if I ever learnt another magic type what would I learn... I've found that magic type.
