  1. There is a lot more involved in removing land-scars than just selecting it and removing it with world edit in five seconds. You have to repair terrain that the build cut into which often times, when done well, requires handwork too. You have to put back in environmental parts like trees, bushes, etc. And in large cases you might even pull a backup which in of itself requires a lot of preparation to get the area loaded and pasted correctly. Personal attacks on people who are still apart of the community are uncool dude. If you want to attack me or others for having a different opinion go after my feedback and the substance of it please. We both want what's best for the community; we just have different opinions on how to get there. I think a good criticism you could draw from what I said on the thread would be how it doesn't line up super well with our mission statement as a community. Linked is the specific section that I think really should be considered. If you read that I think some people would say we aren't following that where some people would say we are. What are your thoughts?
  2. https://imgur.com/a/OY2h9UO That's flying around on just one of the past maps for about five minutes. For every settlement that you pick out there is going to be a sea of land-scars, half done / griefed builds, and builds that shouldn't exist / terraform into the environment very poorly. I agree with what Cloak mentioned partly, but I do think that there are more routes towards achieving that than in the past. Not only, with enough players and resources, can you set out to do it on your own, but with how many tiles are purchased currently by nations there is a lot of space for groups to establish themselves. It's a very healthy conversation to have and this is just my opinion on the matter which leans towards no freebuild. This is mainly just from a past moderation perspective because actually maintaining these areas and cleaning up inactive builds / land-scars is legit a full time job.
  3. Heinrich reads over the notice as he grins with delight. "This will be a splendid time!" Quickly moving to spread the word!

  6. Livia hears the news of her husband's untiming and sudden death. Tears would form in her eyes as she hugs the limited edition Omar Grimmer'Lak action figure to try to comfort herself in these hard times.
  7. Heinrich shakes his head in disbelief "So much death and destruction for so little gain.." The young Alstreim would comment as he continued to received only grim and dark news of what was left of the city. "Savoy will prevail.... it must."
  8. Lilly would be overwhelmed by the bustling atmosphere and all the different small groups and conversations going on within the establishment. She would eye over the menu and be amazed by all the options..... but atlas there was no vallei with round yellows. TEAR!

  10. The pounding and galloping of a horse's hoofs could be heard off in the distance as the young Alstreim returned to his beloved home. The eerily quiet nature of his home put a puzzling question into his mind. Where were all the helpers and servants in the yard? Where was the laughter and joy from the halls of the castle that usually welcomed him home? His approach up the steps was late due to his duties of the day. The hour of day being something he tried to convince himself the cause and reason for such silence. He went through his normal routine, something his father entrenched into his mind: cleaning himself off, caring and maintenance to his weapons and armor that he wore with pride, and a couple of mellow pets to the old family cat. He knew, even though he tried to convince himself otherwise, something was off as soon as he returned to his chambers. A note, with his father's stamp, addressed to him on the floor of his room. Heinrich froze in confusion and shock, his mind racing with a thousand questions of what it could possibly mean. Did his father seek him to be wedded? Did his father aspire for him to seek a greater meaning or greatness in life? Or did he simply forget to tend to a daily task and this was some kind of sick and cruel punishment? Only more questions rushed through the young mortal's head as he grasped the letter and broke the seal to study it's contents. He would scan it over and as his eyes laid deeper and deeper into the letter, so too would his mind and mood grow more and more bitter and sour. By the end of it tears had smeared over his father's signature, muddying it. Laying his eyes on this only worsened the emotions running through his mind as he dropped the letter and fell to the floor. Defeated the Alstreim would focus on the portrait of his late mother on the wall in his room. His mind eating at itself in pain so badly wanting to ask her what to do next and knowing he could not. He would close his eyes as he would spend a long sleepless night on the floor trying to block out the pain that gripped his heart.
  11. It's definitely a case by case basis for the comments and it is all subjective. I do think it is a very healthy thing for people to bring to point when applicants acted out in ways they shouldn't have or didn't handle RP situations in a mature way. Luckily most people are able to distinguish the two from real cases and bogus which also means that the people reviewing the app can do the same. I know, for me, when reviewing apps and seeing claims like that I would often follow that up with log searching or some light digging either by asking peers or community members about specific situations. Part of what makes LotC beautiful is different opinions and places where people come from. A couple -1 comments on apps hold very different weight compared to a couple -1's with an attached reason that lays out their stance. People at the end of the day should take judging their peers on these apps in a serious manner.

  15. Heinrich would read over the notice and frown thinking back to that tragic event a year ago. He'd reach into his bag and pull out a piece of paper and a quill to draw up a more accurate sketch of the beast that ended his mother's life. He would pin it to the board by his home hoping it would serve the bounty hunters well!

  17. This was a project in the past. We had a nearly finished product, but there was a falling out with the person doing the graphic and the project was scraped.
  18. Heinrich would be crouched over sitting in the sand. His hands would run across the ground grasping a handful of sand and clenching it with all his might out of frustration. The young Alstreim would shed a tear; lost for words over the traumatic experience he's just went through.
  19. Sadly Llir hasn't figured a way to code an automated replacement to moderators, a thousand apologizes. No matter who the person might be people will make mistakes or perception and optics will play a role when you don't have a grasp of the full picture of what happens constantly behind the scenes. Airing out your grievances to someone who did solid work that benefited the community, on their farewell post none the less, isn't going to make you whole from that past situation. Pointing it out doesn't make you smart and it doesn't put you in a spot light of good favor for it; just lay it to rest and let them retire in peace. --- Enjoy life GMRO and best of luck in school. It was enjoyable reading your advice section and it makes me laugh a bit in amusement at some of the should be obvious ones. Tis the life of a manager tho 😋
  20. Thanks for the communication on it. Takes a lot of tries and refinement to get complex systems like these working smoothly. I believe!!!
  21. Appreciate all the work and dedication you've put in as a red tag. It's not glamorous work, but you showed a lot of character and maturity through it and contributed a lot to the improvement of the server. P.S. I like the 2021-22 version of you a lot better than the 2019 one :P
