its not awful though just yet more ~mobile minimalism~ we dont need

  2. If you choose not to have sexual relations then it's your freedom to do so :) ignore identity politics it's just a tool used to divide and sow dissent.

  4. Try to keep the sides even as much as possible, we want to replicate typical raid/warclaim scenarios in order to see if it's ready for releasing.

I don't have integration with LOTC's chat at the moment. The plugin will be configured to just return the chat originally entered as-is, meaning it will show italics, bold etc.

I barely know Java, so thats a really bad idea.

If Minecraft ran on python, however...

  7. Not going to give an opinion on the topic right now, but I can totally agree with how obnoxious those signs are. I'll put a bounty of like three fiddy up for the coder who makes an emote-sign plugin. Streamline that ****, yo. You can literally repurpose the utterly forgotten FRP sign plugin too, easy peasy. @Tofuus @Kowaman EDIT: Actually this would make a good coding project for me. I'll give it a go this weekend.
  8. Generally if your entire character is defined by something that makes them incompatible with their own race's culture, you're probably doing something wrong, extenuating circumstances besides; but not everything is that binary. It's okay to question authority in character if you accept the double-edged nature of such behaviour. Anyways, what I believe leowarrior is stating is "don't be a contrarian for the sake of it", so it's less a critique of such characters and more so of the intentions behind them. Also, unique individualism can occur at any level, not only the highest, and personally if you can implement it at a micro (say, a character's hobbies, mannerism) rather than macro level (political ideologies, allegiances in the global scheme of things), I believe you'll likely find much more success with your characters.
  9. The wood elven state would prefer if independent wood elves were part of the whole, I see. Perhaps you could name this the 'One Linandria' policy?
  10. Yeah I thought about how wood elves had evolved as a culture. It's cool to see how such a fundamental shift can occur in a race over time, especially when it's for the better (welves) not the worse (snelves). Of course, to any snelves reading, I mean this in a good way; the snelven fall was just as fascinating a thing to watch as the wood elven rebirth. Still, a wood elf is a wood elf, so I think they should be given some reprieve if they wish to run off and get frisky with a tree (lel dryads) or what have you.
  11. I prefer discord; if you run out of synonyms for 'manhood' you can just use an eggplant emoji instead.
  12. I like this a lot, but one thing bothers me; the fact that belonging/contributing to wood elven society is labeled as 'good'. I can see how advocating this behavior is beneficial for roleplay, but wood elves always stuck out to me as perhaps the race most inclined to wanderlust and solitariness, especially when it involves being around nature. Then again, a lonely elf creates no RP, so I guess it makes sense. Cool read.
  13. you can pretend all you want but the heart cannot lie
  14. It still requires an relatively long time to learn in real-life terms - and I can say for a fact that the operation of a musket, no matter how simple or crude it is, is likely still more complex than most any LOTC magic's usage. Sure, you can simplify their RP, but considering that they are basically a finger of god that feels rather powergamey. You're right, except pointing out the elephant in the room doesn't stop it from existing. Firearms are still too powerful and complex for the average player to be trusted to use without causing more harm than good, in my own opinion. If something has more red lines than benefits there's little reason to let it exist. My biggest argument against firearms is that they are useless. Apart from in pitched land battles / sieges or maritime conflicts, firearms like muskets and pistols were very rarely used. The only way to make firearms feasible in any form of combat is to allow either semi or full pre-loading, and that's just opening another can of worms, as was seen with preloaded pistol crossbows which got swiftly banned. They are needlessly complex weapons for a server like this (never mind the fact that lore would need to be retconned to allow their existence) and will just complicate combat RP even further than it already is (which is at level that most people cannot engage in without argument or disagreement). This only only made worse by the fact that firearms are extremely repetitive and uncreative to use in combat, no matter how much effort you put into it. This isn't just conjecture, it happened in the past with the White Rose's arbalest fetish - every time they were used in combat it was exactly the same RP - not for lack or want of creativity, oh no, it's simply because every time you use a weapon like that it's quite literally identical RP, the only difference is in who or what you're shooting. Except that firearms brought about the fall of both the 'Castle Age' and completely changed the face of warfare. Yea, no biggy. Cannons are extremely strong. Consider that a typical trebuchet could fire a large stone ball somewhere in the ballpark of 300 yards with pretty bad accuracy, then consider that a cannon could fire a slightly smaller but metal ball anywhere from 400 to 3000 yards with relatively phenomenal accuracy for the time. This is extremely generalized statistics but it gives you an idea of why castles simply ceased to exist outside of Asia after the 15th century. Also, I like firearms a lot. I roleplayed using muskets back during either Asulon or Anthos, and roleplayed golden staves as a form of gun later on. I do enjoy them but I simply think they're unfeasible.
  15. The rule of thumb is "can we trust the average player to not **** up using this". If magic requires a year to get to that level, then... No firearms please. EDIT: I remember writing and implementing lore that made gunpowder impossible to make. What happened to that?
  16. oh boy this is only 15% satire
  17. Closing this for now since I want to focus on my main character, wont be able to play two with university sucking out my soul.
  18. Just remove the graphic and put text in. Or remove that page entirely. Or put "Look ingame". What you have currently is pretty false advertising. I've seen this excuse made multiple times, but just do something about it, even if it looks 'less pretty'.
  19. HOU ZI? GONNA OOK EM IN THE DOOKERS Sure, I approve, although if the bird people got denied (who occupied a more unique niche so far as 'races' go) then I don't think this stands much chance.
  20. It's an interesting magic since it's the only magic that is borne from original LOTC RP rather than used as a tinderbox to create RP. All other magic types had the Jedi hand-wave of "This is now a thing that exists in canon, now we can begin roleplaying it". I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it is honestly impossible to create many pieces of lore without some mental gymnastics or hand-waving, it's just a unique facet to this lore that makes it interesting. Also, for the record, the existence of "spheres of power" in the Aengudaemonic Pantheon may exist de jure in the lore but it has never been de facto held to by the staff, since almost every deity magic that exists can be shunted into the archetype of "helps people and hurts spooks". If anything, this is the only deity magic that works upon the mortal moral axis rather than the clash-of-the-titans good vs. evil one that all other deity magics reside upon. Your final sentence's wish is technically correct, yes, but all deity magicks have proven time and time again that they simply do not mesh with the Empire or the Canonist Church, and forcing that further is just a powder keg waiting for a spark. They can coexist, yes, but they simply are too jarring in both lore and dogma to ever have a relationship beyond "you're not worse than dark magic / the undead so we'll let you exist if you keep to yourselves".
  21. Intercession magic's lore submission is now over a month old. Is there a reason it's being stonewalled?

Benbo answered this question a short while ago. The lore team's been kind of dysfunctional during the holidays, but now they're getting back to it. It's not so much stonewalling, more disorganised staff. Depending on how long it takes for all the LMs to give their opinions on the lore itself, it may be a while. I trust in Benbo, though. He seems sincere.
