  2. The Grand Marshal sends his seal along with directions To report to him when the time comes that the legion is called "Welcome to the Legion"
  3. The Legion of Urguan Emblem of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan The Legion of Urguan is the standing fighting force of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. Existing since Aegis, it's job is to protect the freedom of the dwarves of Urguan and their allies from those who'd do them harm. Race matters not to the Legion, as any one who would die for the ideals the Legion stands for is an ideal soldier. The Legion barracks can be found at the entrance of Kal'Akash, capital city of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. Recruitment officers can be found throughout the city. Grand King Skippy "the Belly" Irongut, addressing the Legion before the slaughter of the Mountain Monarchy Notable Battles Grand King Rhewen Frostbeard "Papa Bear", leading the charge in the Siege of Kal'Ordholm Battle of Ugluk Fort The Legion siege the Orcish fort of Clan Ugluk. The result is a Legion victory and the land is claimed for the Grand Kingdom. This particular land would become the site of Storm’s Crossing and eventually Kal’Ithrun. Battle of Indagolaf The Legion, pushed back from the trenches surrounding the remains of Thoringrad, entrench themselves in the depths of Fort Indagolaf, an underground superfortress. After a lengthy siege, the Legion forces emerge from the fortress in a charge that would route the human, orc, and elven forces. Battle of Kal’Azgoth The Legion forces alongside their allies, led by a dwarf freed from the clutches of Ondnarch, make their way through the deeproads and into the sealed city. It is here that Igor Ireheart, wielding the Hammer of Baradin, sacrifices himself to destroy the essence of Ondnarch and free the trapped Aengul Wyvern. Battle of the Dreadfort Human forces backed by the Legion siege teams attempt to retake the Scourge-held fortress of the Dreadfort. With brilliantly engineered weaponry and the precision of the siege teams, the dwarves blast a path for the human infantry to retake the Dreadfort with their very own Commander Borin Grandaxe killing the Harbinger of Conquest. Battle of Anthos The Legion backed by the forces of Anthos valiantly defend the gate between Anthos and The Fringe from the coming Scourge before they are pushed back by rising flood waters. Anthos is lost. Battle of Vengeance The Legion and forces of the Treaty of Zion participate in an open field battle in the Orcish sands against the Orenian forces. After the magic of the realm failing and many persons being teleported across the realm and the Zionists dominate the remaining human forces. Battle of the Red Realm The forces of Anthos, led by the Legion and the Golden Lance (Guild) push several offenses into the realm of Setherian. In the final offensive the legion siege weaponry is used to destroy the Harbinger’s Tower. At the climax of the battle, Setherian breaks his way into the mortal realm and the Golden Lance (Guild), using a special ballista built by Lord Protector Zahrer Irongrinder, destroy him. Battle of Hiebenhall The forces of the dwarven legion defended the Irongut hold of Hiebenhall against the Kingdom of Oren. The fort was unable to be breached because of its strategic location and the might of the dwarven crossbowmen who kept the human forces at bay. Orenian forces eventually retreated for their inability to conquer the hold and their massive loss of numbers. Battle of the Grass Nearing the end of a bloody war, Grand Marshal Jorik Grandaxe and Grand King Balek Irongut led the first defense of their homeland against an Orcish Horde. With overwhelming numerical superiority, the forces of Urguan forsook their keep and charged the horde head on slaughtering all who sought to endanger their people. The battle marked the end of the war and a lasting peace for the people of Urguan. The Mountain Monarchy Rebellion After the election for a new Grand King, Verthaik Frostbeard and his followers broke apart from the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. Following the rebellion, the Legion met the rebellion in the valley of flowers, slaughtering the traitors decisively. The Siege of Khro'Nogaak The Legion, supported by the Horde of Dunamis and men following the good Faiz Kharadeen, banded together to protect Fort Khro'Nogaak from the Holy Orenian Empire. Pushing the human empire out of Urguan. The Siege of Kal'Ordholm The Holy Orenian Empire set their eyes on the hold of Kal'Ordholm and met the Legion, Horde of Dunamis, and men of old Vandoria in battle. Decisively, the Legion backed by their allies sent Oren back out of Urguan land for the second time. Hierarchy Senior Officers Grand Marshal- The most senior position of the Legion, given his position by the Grand King himself. The Grand Marshal is in charge of managing the Legion and the assorted levies of the Kingdom. He will be the de-jure general upon the battlefield provided the Grand King opts out. Jorik Grandaxe [joenaj] Honorable Grey Beards- The Grey Beards are retired legionaries, regardless of rank. Grey Beards occasionally reenter service upon request of the Grand King. A dwarf must be enlisted in the Legion for 20 years (6 months) to be eligible of becoming a Grey Beard. Long Beards- A former officer within the Legion who has either stepped down or honorably discharged. Long Beards have the ability to be reinstated as an Iron Breaker upon speaking to the Grand Marshal or Grudge Beard. A dwarf has to of served at least 5 years (2 months) to become eligible of becoming a Long Beard. Enlisted Iron Breakers- The more competent and worthy of the Legionnaires. They’ve proven themselves as distinguished dwed during their training, and hold the new-found responsibility of passing that onto the newer and younger generation of Legionnaires. Stone Guards- The Stone Guard has proven themselves worthy as a Grunt and have advanced onwards to better things. This rank makes up the bulk of the Legion. Grunts- A Grunt is a recruit and initiate in the Legion. All Grunts and are expected to be completely obedient to all Dwarves of higher standing in the Legion. Generally, Grunts get to participate in most of the hard labor committed by the Legion. Duties Duties are tasks executed by all members of the Legion, no matter rank or responsibility. Combining any two of these duties in place of general training is acceptable. Guard Duty- The role of the Legionnaires is crucial within the capital, whether it be for the defense against hostile invaders or the simple upholding of the law. Gate Management- If not simply defending the city in general, a few Legionnaires may find themselves manning the gate. This is a very important job, for they are the first line of defense against lawbreakers and raiders. Patrol- Patrolling is one of the most vital functions the Legion has. To ensure the safety and stability of the realm, patrols may be held on the roads and between settlements to act as a watch for bandits and illegal activity. Patrols also can be used to protect miners from hostile creatures, and spot un-dwarven use of land. 4. "I can give you some pointers"
  5. "Ye' will always 'ave a place 'ere my friend. We will not forget all that you've done for us." Jorik nods with a slight smile on his face as the man departs in the distance
  6. "The lag affects both sides" "Nothing will be done until the war is over" "Stop complaining because you're losing"
  7. A quick postage is put up in response to the propaganda "There was once a time when the Wood Elves called out. They called out for anyone to help them in an effort to preserve their sovereignty. The call was answered by the realm of Dwarves and they immediately took aid to those in need. Now at one point I called this man, Artimec Camoryn, a friend. I dined with him and so did many of my brothers. I stood by him against overwhelming odds as I defended his people and taught them to fight." "Artimec was a good man, but as with many of us, he was not without faults. The effort turned sour as the defense was turned against him. A single loss at a fortress caused Art to become afraid. He immediately surrendered to the forces that sought to conquer him and left the people who had come to his aid out in the water." "He promised to right the wrongs he had caused us as a looming war descended upon the dwarves. This war however, was not by our doing. The war was to defend who we considered friends and some even kin." "Artimec Camoryn is a coward who would seek to denounce those who defend their homeland when he failed to defend his." The postage ends A personal letter sent to Artimec Camoryn arrives on his doorstep "I care not for the lazy babbling and propaganda from wherever. However, do not, ever, insult my people as you intend to. Whatever the result of this war. I guarantee you. You will hurt."
  8. We sought forgiveness through reparation. We sought an end to conflict. We sought to pay and more than make up for the few lives our King took. We were only met with resistance. "All of your lands and titles" they said and rejected our outreach. We are open to the realization that we are on our heels. But how can a man remotely proud of his people accept total and utter releases of everything his father and his father's father have built? The Dwedmar are a proud people that is correct. However, what most do not understand is that we are a kind people too. Talk to us and we realize our mistakes. We offer pay for our mistakes. But the absolute destruction of our heritage? That is impossible.
  9. *Letters and posters are sent to all corners of the realm for all to see* The Snow Burns https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2ORBqnok4U Fortresses lay destroyed. The forces of Oren march upon the lands of Urguan with ruthless slaughter. They burn villages, sack towns, murder men. Some may be honorable, but their figurehead, their emperor wishes only for an entire race to die. There have been petty wars in the past. Wars over land, wars over men. But this war, this long war, has only one purpose: To destroy the dwarf race. The dwarves extended their sorrows for the past mad king who killed many a human. They offered reparations, but were only met with denial. John Horen the mad and first of his name only sought to end everything. War has plagued the two nations for years. Other wars may find honor. May find a true motive. However this war, finds a boy leading an empire to murder a race. All differences aside, the motive of genocide can only be found by a mad man. The dwarves fight valiantly to defend their homeland. Yet the world does not know the truth. The world must know the truth. The Mad Emperor wishes for his rule to be absolute. For the genocide of non-humans and anyone who opposes him. The dwarves stand as one of the last bastions to freedom from the oppression of Oren. They plead to all those who have a sane mind to end this war or take up arms against those who would seek to murder in cold blood. Set aside your differences and recognise the true evil. Dwarves only wish to live in peace and prosperity as any man would. Join the Fight.
