  1. I think all Void magics that are heavy in combat use could benefit from having a lore approved sample spell set. It’s important to establish the norms for the extent and type of damage that can be done for an entirely text based system. I’d much prefer having references like this to counter powergaming without going the spell-point route. Even avid supporters of free-form evocation can use something like this to base their spells off of. With that said, this specific piece should be looked at closely again with a LT or a MT to improve on the exacts that are noted here.
  2. I like parts of this lore, tahmas. Over all a good submission! Some bits left things looking a bit detached from a common theme, such as the garden bit and it's passive interaction with Voidal abundance. I think those two things should clash opposed to working seamlessly. Just a tiny nitpick tho. I like the drawbacks from the Scar and it's growth with death. The aesthetics are moistening as well.
  3. Interesting and unexpected. Very well done!
  4. [!] A hooded courier seeks the three, delivering a letter to each of them. "The Order seeks you, aspirant. Send a letter to Haelun'or to meet with one of the Triarchs." [[Pm Earth_Evocation ig]]
  5. I'm a sucker for some good gemstone/mineral lore. +1
  6. Let's just get rid of the Whitelist application altogether.

  7. The madman. he actually posted it +1
  8. A leaflet of parchment has been left upon the counter of the Twin Tailor's store. Elegant lettering notates interest in a custom piece, while accompanying sketches indicate some form of armaments. [[Discord is Luxurypoop#8643, if permissible I'd like to handle the request there.]]
  9. I'm not sure that convincing the LT to inject your roleplay with deity interaction to make your roleplay more appealing is fair to the other deity followers. edit: Azdromoth isnt a typical deity like I thought, but the content of my statement is still relatively similar.
  10. Bless the brave souls who have

opened the can of worms that is

    magic on Lotc.

  11. Excellent work gladuos. I was thoroughly blown away by this piece and I will most certainly look forward to it's acceptance.
  12. Looks like a ton of added abilities, but hardly any decent drawbacks.
  13. I've had Leylines mentioned to me in RP a long time ago, and it's been subtly referenced around the forums. This piece serves to clarify and create lore for something that probably should already exist in our lotc universe. Artificial Leylines are just flavor for Transfig, and again are likely possible in the scope of the magic. Simply a means to concoct a simple, low impact, specific spell. Whereas manipulating Lesser Leylines in a sense is exactly the same as manipulating Air with Transmutation. It's written that way to tie in with that lore. Moreover, only the artwork is from the show. The concept is one that is observed by more spiritual or religious folk irl, and is touched on by many writers across various franchises. When tailoring this concept for lotc use it was pretty unavoidable that several comparisons could be drawn between it and perhaps WoW. As for it being a tad shallow, I guess my answer would have to be that it's a pretty simplistic concept. Not hard to understand and I could write in a deeper meaning but it would seem clunky imo. I'd rather leave it as an open, natural phenomenon. Keep the comments and concerns coming, people!
  14. Leylines “The time ought to come where we turn our attention to the skies. The greatest secrets may have been just above our noses all along.” (credit to Yō Yoshinari) Mana exists everywhere, in everything. Even the air is said to contain a certain type of mana. A popular phrase spread by teachers of the Arcane. Indeed the air does contain mana, this mana in particular being further defined as Ley. Leylines are invisible channels of mana that cover all of creation in branching interconnecting webs. Leylines exist in three states: Lesser and Greater, and Artificial. Lesser Leylines are spread evenly across all of the open air on the mortal plane, serving as a stark counterpoint to Greater Leylines. These lines may be altered by any mage with the means to do so. The Mage Light spell is a popular result of altering the air, but other such feats have not yet come to be. Greater Leylines are the potent rivers of mana which spread across the cosmos and the mortal plane alike, connecting areas of magical significance. These Leylines are vastly powerful. As such, a single mage could not hope to wield one on their own, but a number of practiced mages may composite their abilities to tap into and bend these Leylines to their desires.Generally, Greater Leylines can be sensed by seasoned mages. When a Greater Leyline has successfully been channeled in a location, it’s state is defined as an Anchored Leyline. The power of a Greater Leyline may only be used once in an area and must be maintained lest the energy being focused through this Anchor break free with devastating consequences. Artificial Leylines are threads of mana which are but a mimicry of their natural counterparts. Transfigurers are capable of creating these and using them to channel mana through the air. Creating the possibility to link multiple enchantments remotely to a nearby mana source such as a large gemstone or an obelisk. It is also possible to use this technique create a chain of mana between several mana gems, allowing for it to efficiently be spread across a larger area. (credit to Yō Yoshinari) Though this network of Greater and Lesser Leylines has existed since creation itself, it is possible for new links in the chain to be created under the correct circumstances. New branches of Greater Leylines may traverse towards locations greatly saturated with magic, including but not limited to: Void Nodes, Groves, hallows, Thanhium deposits, and Arcane establishments. Such an event would be heralded by ethereal lights sprawling across the sky at the new location, often mistaken for an aurora. Once a Greater Leyline connects between two points, it will remain eternally. Redlines- Greater Leylines: Locations of Greater Leylines are ultimately decided by the LT. Any interaction with Greater Leylines must be overseen by a member of the MT. After a location is designated as a place through which a Greater Leyline passes, players may look into using the Leyline as a source of fuel for a single magical feat at a time. A MArt must be submitted and approved on each occasion. It is possible to repurpose an Anchored Leyline at intervals no less than a month at a time. Artificial Leylines: All Transfiguration rules apply

A set of daywear for one of my characters. I'll pm you both individually so I can get a sense for what your skin styles are like.

  16. There was hardly any counter-play to disguised dark beings before, aside from the previous wards. You jump through hoops to discern their identity then, boom, there's a brand new person(identity) living and prancing around in town. Who's that guy? Not Mr. Darkmage. Right? Right???
  17. Aw. This would be neato, I miss elindor

  19. While I'd like to see the Void's effect on nature more defined, perhaps not quite as biased as this. BNK sums it up pretty well.
  20. Has anyone accrued 1 million minas before?

no, but friendship is priceless and i have plenty of that

  21. The simplicity is quite novel. Good piece of lore.
  22. Is this an addition to Conjuration, or it's own Magic?
  23. Can you give some insight as to why this isn't a thing any longer? If you can grow the stones, you should be able to cause them to combine. It happens naturally underground all the time; Veins of minerals growing into others. That's what void mages do with their elements, replicate their natural properties and forms.
  24. I personally don't hate this. Though I dont really like the requirement of another stone/gem/etc to be incorporated. I figure something like a simple spell imbued into the item would be stylistically pleasing while still keeping the mechanics. tldr; Leave gemcraft to enchanting so we dont have to bling out mage tools to be pointlessly icy.
