As a former NL, there is definitely a need for some kind of repercussions for when your character is killed. My rule of thumb was that if there had been sufficient RP and if it was of good quality, that I would PK and I was actually going to PK once when I was captured (though my captives decided to let me go). I always refused to PK not only as NL, but in general, when the RP was just qualitatively muck - little to no effort put in, memey, etc. Tldr; NL's should have to PK provided that the RP lead up and the quality of RP surrounding the occasion, was of a good standard. (Yes, 'good standard' is more of a subjective thing, but we all recognize good effort)

I shall, in this treatise, pronounce the ultimate interpretation, if my analysis of what Larihei Lomahnih is, holds. If indeed, as I have previously argued, Larihei, is of divine nature, and our souls are that of thilln, then Purity is a metaphysical construct- it is not something which can be empirically studied, nor can it be weighed, nor can it be counted. Though, being Pure demands that you belong to the category of Mali’aheral, for it is only those who have souls of silver. Historically, the question “Thilln ito nae’leh?” has been premised upon two things; Blood and Mind. Are you of Pure Mali’aheral lineage? And do you subscribe to the teachings of Larihei - maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. This is premised correctly - being of Pure lineage and being of Pure mind are necessary to one being Pure. However, Purity in and of, by definition, cannot just be those two things. Rather, Purity is the condition of one’s soul. Following maehr’sae hiylun’ehya provides us with many benefits. Firstly, it is the best philosophy by which to live our lives. Secondly, and more importantly, it is what maintains the thilln of our soul. It is what keeps it thilln. The Impure of the world do not live by our philosophy, as such their calling towards perfection - towards Larihei is diminished. They care not for her nor our ancient ways. As a Mali’aheral slowly begins to withdraw from our lifestyle, they grow more and more accustomed to lesser ways and vices. Whereas when one resides amongst Pure kin, pursuing a Pure life, one's Silver Soul is in its Purest and healthiest state. Given the immaterial nature of the Soul, its ‘thilln-ness’, is not observable or knowable to us, though when our fates are decided at the end of our lives, it is The Silver Maiden alone, who will see us for what we are, whether we have lived a life worthy of being graced by Her presence. To be Pure, is to have an untarnished Silver Soul. Purity then, is the endeavor to maintain the Thilln of one’s Soul. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Lomahnihst Rites Given the utmost importance of maintaining all aspects of our Purity; The Soul, The Mind and The Body, it is important from youth, that we engage with a culture that emphasizes these very things. As such, I have devised several Rites which all Lomahnihsts are obligated and required to undergo - to both maintain their Purity and to continue to live out a life of Purity. The Rite of Sanctification Upon reaching adulthood, all Lomahnihsts shall undergo The Rite of Sanctification, to be observed by their fellow Society members. This Rite is a requirement for all expectant Avernan, wherein following a ceremony, they shall be submerged in pools of Gold, effectively placing them in a state of ‘renewal’. As Larihei offered the gift of rebirth to our ancestors, we shall offer all initiates the ability to cleanse themselves of previous transgressions against the Lomahnih way. This Rite shall conclude the initiation of the Avernan as full members of The Silver Society of Larihei Lomahnih. The Rite of Marriage As one meanders throughout life, having come of age, one naturally has the urge to create a family - to continue the ancient legacy of one's ancestors. It is without question that the familial unit is the fundamental unity within our blessed society. Therefore, both culturally and civilly, one is obligated to continue our way of life, and so when two wish to become one, they shall be wed in ceremony, before their peers, receiving the pools of Gold together, serving as both a renewal of their promise to be pure, and as a promise now to each other. The Rite of Dying To die, is a consequence of having lived, and as one nears the end of ones life, the last act of purification is granted. A ceremony, presided over by the Masaneyir, and attended by the family of the one who’s time has come to an end, shall be held wherein they shall be purified once more, by the blessed waters. Furthermore, Mali’thill believe in the existence of a creator, and so the idea of a deific figure is not one of controversy. Reason speaks to another tradition of the Mali’thill, that of worship and veneration. Though today, we shun the worshiping of deities, this perhaps, was not always so. As a son of the Mother of Thilln, I hold that Larihei Lomahnih is not merely mortal, but of higher origin. I do not hold this lightly, nor have I reached this conclusion with ease. I shall lay out my reasoning for this belief here in what I consider to be feats of divinity. The forests would grow wild and feral, killing many elves. Malin, horrified at this, outlawed and buried deep, these Aspectic altars of power. Creation It was Larihei, already bearing the physical and mental characteristics of a Mali’aheral - though they did not yet exist, who led our ancestors to the Golden Pools, where they would eventually become the first of the Mali’aheral - reborn in the image and likeness of Larihei Lomahnih. Gifts Larihei gave to the Mali’aheral, many great gifts. The most senior of these gifts were received by the Mali’aheral upon their bathing in the pools - their Silver Soul. Secondary to this, were the powers of the Void. Thirdly, she gave to our ancestors, the very code and philosophy which guides us still, to this day, after millenia - maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Sacrifice It was the mother of Thilln who sacrificed her mortality - her physical and worldly presence, in the creation of the portals which would save our kin from certain doom, leaving behind the mortal plane - separating herself from her children, so that they may live. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Apotheosis Lomal the traitor led an assault upon Larihei and her flock, as such the mother of thilln ordered her kin to retreat, not wanting her children to suffer more bloodshed. Literally was just forced into a discord group where I am now being once again, forced into an action - that being to give my support via comment and + 1 to this submission, which I do so happily and freely, of my own accord.

I can only really speak to the Haelun'or conflict from my own perspective, but it was clear from day one, that the motivating factors in taking over Haelun'or were entirely OOC'ly based, with a sprinkling of RP to justify those actions. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it turned into one when it was made clear that Twi was going to stop at literally nothing to become the PRO of Haelun'or, even if that meant the destruction of a 10 year old community. Twi could've went about things so differently, and I recall being kind of shocked at her willingness to straight up try to brute-force her way through to what she wanted. At an IRP debate that was scheduled, not only did she show up late, but she then refused to debate (now, everyone knew that this debate would work out in favor of Haelun'or, but that's not the point) and the only words she spoke icly were "Surrender", before she ran without RP'ing and SS'd out. From day one, it was either "Give me your Nation or Die.". This kind of thing, in my 10+ years of playing on this server, never really happens icly, unless there are OOC factors involved. Never did she try work things out diplomatically or peacefully, it was always "Give me what I want or suffer", and this of course translated into the OOC smear campaign against not only myself, but the entirety of the Haelunorian community. It was often said to me that I, as NL at the time, was responsible for the actions of my community. If this is the case, then the same applies to Twi, and I can guarantee you, that we received enormous amounts of abuse and harassment. While I am not against a hostile takeover of a nation, it must be done irp'ly and it should be motivated irp'ly - with the RP being more than just a means of justifying an OOC plot. Unfortunately, this response is entirely accurate in its portrayal of how Twi acted during the Haelun'or conflict.
