In a compromise between the popular interests and his own self-interest, he resolves that the Duchy is to be overseen by a number of different advisors, both elected and appointed from its populace. The convention of the Duke’s vijeće begins the day prior. The Court Columbarian’s catchpole knocks a fat white fledgling from its cote. It is taken en cage down along the winding steps through the storeroom and into the scullery, where the Chef gorges it on a mix of honey and groats. His maid meanwhile milks the last drops of spiced Roach Red from a sleeve. Halfway between a functionary and a judge, the Chancellor shall supervise and preside over appellate and civil courts within the Duchy of Adria, maintain records, and employ advocates of the court to enforce civil judgments. THE KNIGHT PARAMOUNT | SER ARDASHIR OF CHALDEES @Quantumatics Born the inheritor of the revered Banu Sayatin, the desert warrior monks of the lands of Chaldees, the Mihyaari led an exodus out of the region in resistance to the oppressive and unjust rule of its then leadership. His adoption of Canonism alongside a preservation of his ancient warrior tradition afforded him employ slaying beasts along the Almarian roads. When coming upon the trails just beyond the lands of Adria, he found the Duke Sarkozic and his local envoy assailed by an amassment of wretched vodnik that had emerged from the nearby river. Sparing them the premature fate they would have otherwise endured by virtue of his skill in combat, the Duke offered him the glory of knighthood in gratitude for saving his life. With the novel title, Ardashir was directed to the development of a new knightly order which would bear its duty to Adria, and its purpose multifold in the preservation of the Canonist flock against the many darkspawn that have come to plague their lands. His reputation now hangs proudly across the Kingdom of Aum, renewing an age of folk heroes and gallantry that bear their roots within the traditions of yore. III. THE MARSHAL| SER JOSEPH VASILE @Nectorist The child of a Petran noble, Joseph Vasile grew up in a life of relative ease and comfort, receiving a basic education and martial training as a squire of the Duke of Petra. Growing frustrated with the stratified society of his birth, he struck out in 1907 for greater fortunes abroad, and found himself in the employ of the rising Duke Heinrik. As Marshal, Vasile intends to hammer Petran discipline into the rabble of Adrian levies and armigers. The Marshal is the highest military office one can achieve within the Duchy of Adria, and is appointed directly by the Duke. The marshal oversees, supervises, and commands the bannermen of His Grace the Duke. It is his charge to keep men boarded, fed, trained, and marching in lockstep with the will of the council. IV. THE PRIMATE | ERIK FATHER RENZFELD @Laeonathan A hopeful star in the Church of the Canon, Father Erik of Renzfeld descends from the powerful Euler Merchant family. The newly inducted priest, Erik, started his path by conducting a coronation jointly with the High Pontiff, quickly gaining his Holiness's favor, Father Erik passed favorably through his Examination. Now set upon bringing faith and moral righteousness to the Duchy, Father Erik ascends to the position of Primate. As Primate of Adria, Father Renzfeld serves as the Duke’s spiritual advisor and clerical representative. Questions of the Faith in Adria are delegated unto him, and his wise counsel and advocacy are essential to steer the Duke’s good governance. V. THE MAGISTRATE | UNOCCUPIED As Magistrate of Adria, Zmeu employs his very particular talents in upholding the Duke’s peace, the Duma’s peace, and the rule of law. He is charged with presiding over the criminal courts in Adria, and to employ bailiffs to execute the decisions of the courts. VI. THE EXECUTIONER | JAN ÁRPÁD IVANOVIĆ @Optimus420 At sixteen years of age, Jan Ivanovich has witnessed more than many kings and prelates thricefold his senior. At seven, his opportunistic father Sveneld threatened the realms of Man with turmoil by attempting the assassination of a foreign minister at a peace summit. Slain after the failed attempt, Sveneld’s loyalists kidnapped his son Jan Arpad and fled into the vast and lawless steppe of Central Almaris. Living a existence, young Jan developed a ruthless disposition and an utter determination to see his vision of a Raevir society fulfilled. As the Ducal Executioner, Jan Ivanovich primary responsibility is the enforcement of death sentences for those found guilty of high crimes against the Duchy of Adria. Since the times of Duke Franz I Vladov, Adria has distinguished itself for its progressive values and integrative vision of a Duchy established not on the despotism of hitherto Savoyard or Horenic polities but instead on that of compromise and unity through differentiating ideas. As Duke of Adria, it behooves me to recognize the people's will and give them ample capacity to advise on the governance of Adria. From thereon, our ancestors would wander aimless, the remaining men fighting under Emperor John I, but for naught, their families would continue to dwindle and their melancholy unending. This was to be the fate of Adria, washed away by time, and to join the ashes of the destroyed. One hundred and ninety years later, the spindle of fate would be cruel towards Adria again as their Golden City, Ves, burned at the hands of the betrayer Marius and the mad Emperor Antonius. Once more, this was the fate of Adria, burned twice, once in stone and once in gold. Then, the eagle roared from Adrian Sarkozic, but corruption ran too deep. The Ambition-soaked Sarkozic dreamed of himself atop the Imperial Throne, and it was achieved with the betrayal of Adria, virtually dissolving it with the demolition of Renzfeld and the forced resettlement of her people into Helena, his now jeweled imperial capital. His son, Joseph Clement' The Unworthy', proved no better; he later married to become Emperor, kept the title away from fair election out of jealousy, and dissolved it entirely. This was to be the fate of Adria, burned twice and betrayed twice. It is this fate Adria seems destined for, one of immense ruin and tragedy, yet the Adrian Dream persists untarnished. Now with the Dumapalooza of 1903, our task is different; our path shall be different. We sit at the precipice of the future. To let ourselves be defined by others and the past or strive upon a different fate. As Duke of Adria, I proclaim for the latter. Let our tenacity and hope define us. INAUGURAL AGENDA OF 1904 THE EXPANSION OF OUR CAPITAL, VELEC The current clutter of tents forming Velec shall be transformed as bricks are inlaid and tents are lowered in favor of a township that shall be at the forefront of the refoundation of Adria. Familiar architecture from previous duchies shall return anew with an invigorated design and further development of housing so all may find a roof over their heads. THE WAYWARD PEOPLE OF ADRIA Our people are long adrift; thus, it is my mandate to regather them and those families from Adria’s past that still live. Under the auspices of St. Catherine, we open the golden door of Adria to those poor, lost and homeless. Those who yearn to breathe freedom shall have a home in our beloved Duchy. To any who wish to make a living, paid professions of different trades shall be offered. Whether that be arms, merchants, or labor, all shall share in the splendor of Adria. THE REFORMATION OF THE GREYCLOAKS Though our hopes are peaceful and stable, we must make preparations for those who have more malicious values and intend to do ill upon our people. Therefore it is a part of my agenda to reform the ancient Greycloaks of Adria. Founded by the brave Rickard Barrow, the Graycloaks fought valiantly during the Duke's War to protect Adria. Now we recommence their duty and ancient code to guard Adria and serve its people dutifully through honorable service. THE RESTRUCTURING OF THE ADRIAN DUMA AND GOVERNMENT Adria is known as the land of democracy; free and fair ideals though sometimes chaotic, always shine in Adria. Therefore in righteous reverence, we seek to resume the liberal procedures of the Duchy. Though the process shall be daunting, we strive to lay the infrastructure of righteous governance for posterity with a Constitution. Appropriate undertakings shall be made to usher in the governing Duma and continue Adria's tradition, so none no matter class, shall be left without a voice. THE CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF VELETZIA AND THE DUCHY The Lands of our Duchy are bountiful, and we must consider the past states' failure to use its advantages adequately. Therefore, farms, lumbermills, industry, and other developments shall be actively encouraged and undertaken to increase the prosperity of the devastated land. Economic and financial incentives shall be offered to bring and create commercial enterprises in Adria. By these efforts, Adria's populace will grow and become stable so no soul shall go hungry. A CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE DUMAPALOOZA Issued on 5th of Horen's Calling 1897 It has come to the House of Sarkoz that two of the rules regarding the Election have caused confusion among the Electorate and must be amended accordingly for clarification. The language used was not meant to change the rules of the Election but rather simple confusion regarding the hosting seat and the nature of the Election.

As any good Sarkoz should, we bemoan the deprivation of a proper land to call Adria, one where we may exercise our ancient, vaunted customs. Now, we seek to re-unite those who have wandered aimlessly in this time of interregnum- not under the banner of Sarkozic, but under the banner of Adria, that which we may all claim as ours. House Sarkozic, however, invites all the remaining cadet-houses of House Carrion and those families of influence in Adria’s past to a formal Adrian Election regarding the title of our forebears. It is long past due that those of Adrian stock aim to return to the days of the Cercogstva Adrija; and we are here to retrieve one through a fair election that has been delayed, but never forgotten. There shall be drink for all, revelry, and celebration for this joyous occasion. INVITATIONS ON THE FOLLOWING RULES: 1. The Duchy of Adria shall only be elected by those Crow Elector Houses specifically named within this document. 2. After much discourse, it was proposed to elect a head of a northern branch of Sarkozic, so Heinrik Otto var Nikolai Sarkozic and Ratibor Kazimir Sarkozic could pursue their own ambitions in the north of Almaris independent of the Sarkozics of Pompourelia. All Sarkozics present were given one vote, including the chair. Upon tie, one mina was flipped to break the tie and determine the breaking vote.
