  1. THE GREYSPINE GALA The Inaugural Celebration of Greyspine Keep Tov and Yermey, 357 ES To the citizens of Hanseti-Ruska and our allies, The House of Ruthern has stood tall and proud in the Kingdom of Haense for many centuries, providing loyal service and protection to its people. The hammerhead upon our banners has flown protectively over the entrance into our land for generations, as wardens and guards to our King and the heart of his country. It is momentous then that we announce the founding of our march upon the lands of Almaris, which is christened the Greyspine Keep. In honor of the castle’s completion and the appointment to a new title, it is the desire of the Margrave and Margravine Ruthern to host an inaugural celebration, to break in the new ballroom and allow the Carrion Black to flow in jubilant merry-making. The Lord and Lady’s Address Following the arrival of our guests, kinsmen, and fellow vassals, the newly-risen Margrave & Margravine of Gresyspine will open the festivities with joint-speeches addressed to those in attendance from within the lord’s audience chamber. They will speak on the legacy of the House Ruthern and the bright future we have ahead, alongside giving a more-formal welcome to the keep and castle grounds. The Feast After the conclusion of the formal address, guests will be welcome to a grand feast in the keep’s dining hall. The main course will be two elk, braised and then glazed in a cranberry gravy sauce. Accompanying this huntsman’s triumph will be an array of local Haeseni dishes. Of course, Carrion Black among other beverages will be served in the spirit of camaraderie and a time well-spent. The Tournament Once the food has settled in the stomachs of our ravenous attendees, the Grand Champion of Karosgrad himself, Alric var Ruthern will host a tournament just beyond the walls of the Greyspine, in our newly-timbered sparring pit. Those of able body will be allowed to test their skill and compete for monetary prizes. 1st Place - 600 mina 2nd Place - 300 mina The Margravine’s Tour Whilst those interested take part in the show of arms outside, the Margravine of Greyspine invites any visitors who desire a tour of the keep’s interior to join her for a guided promenade. Though certain chambers will be off-limits to all, the lady of House Ruthern takes great pride in the prospect of showing off her new home to her fellow-Haeseni. She will be accompanied by the newly-appointed Steward of Metterden, Henriette Marna de Rafal. Signed, The Most Honorable, Maric I Ruthern, Margrave of Greyspine, Count of Metterden, Baron of Rostig, Protector of the South, Lord of Helmholtz & Ivanhall The Most Honorable, Anabela Ruthern, Margravine of Greyspine Her Ladyship, Henriette Marna de Rafal, Steward of Greyspine

  4. (I also wouldn't mind visiting. Desert and Egyptian-inspired themes and rp on LOTC has, imo, been an unexplored realm. I'm excited to see what you do!)
  5. "Mama! Look what this Madame de Potins has written! She says cousin Anna is having a little baby!" The young Charlotte Augusta would speak in great excitement, not quite understanding the nature of this pamphlet. However, her innocence to the world of gossip was better preserved for now.
  6. ❄️ THE RITE OF YULE ❄️ - A Celebration of the Winter Solstice - Year 7 SA, (1803) [!] An announcement of jubilation is written in an array of paints and inks. The winter months of any elven year are filled with change and rebirth. The death of plants and the hibernation of animals are only some of the ways in which the natural world around us replenishes itself. However, each time the snow begins to fall upon our forests and glades, it is time for us too to go through our own cycle. The Winter Solstice, or what we in the Father Circle call the Rite of Yule, is a sacred festival and series of ceremonial rituals that allow us to come together, give thanks, and celebrate nature’s death in preparation for the blossoming to occur in spring. All who live under the Crown of Elvenesse are invited cordially to attend, alongside any and all who seek to likewise honor the bounty that nature has provided us this previous elven year. The Offering 🦌 To begin the evening, our Raitheans will lead in the sacrificing of a great elk, an offering to the Aspects in the hopes of granting our realm a shortened winter. Crafted wreaths and sprigs of holly, mistletoe, and pine are laid upon the elk’s corpse, the hide being painted in shades of red and brown. The offering is left somewhere out in the wilds until the day where only the bones remain, in which case they will be buried within the grounds of the Father Grove. The Feast 🍗 Following the sacrifice and dedication, a feast shall commence. A meal provided by each attendee is welcome, to ensure a full and hearty table. However, to further honor the Aspects, the feast is a strictly-silent affair with only the sounds of the surrounding environment to accompany the food and drink. To speak during this meal is considered highly disrespectful. The Exchanging of Gifts & The Winter’s Brawl 🌿 In conclusion, two options are given for those in attendance. For visitors who seek to give crafts and trinkets to friends and loved ones, an exchange of gifts will be open for those interested to participate in. These tokens and presents are encouraged to be handmade. For those not so inclined to simple gift-giving, a brawl will be open to all participants in our sparring pit. Whoever proves their physical prowess will be rewarded with a prize by our own Sister Venom, who will stand in for the Raithean of Winter and is overseeing the festivities. With Season’s Greetings, The Viper Druid, Taeral Caerme’onn, Raithean of Winter The Bear Druid, Miven Caerme’onn, Raithean of Spring The Wildfire Druid, Eir’thall, Raithean of Autumnl The Venom Druid, Syndra Caerme’onn [Information] Date: Sunday, January 17th, @ 7pm EST Where: The Father Grove, Realm of Elvenesse
  7. Syndra Caerme'onn, as usual, always kept an eye out for Avius, whether he knew it or not. She had become fond of him in the almost-decade she had known him thus far, mostly for the fact that they were so similar in personality and dry humor. However, as she observed him that particular day, she noticed he seemed irritable and on edge. She felt, in that moment, a pang of worry pulsed through her. Though he had his mate, and likewise a child by her, sometimes she found herself wishing he might look to her for consoling and comfort. The stoic and hardened Avius was just the sort that she could bother herself with cracking the shell of for years and centuries, if she had her own way. The prideful Sister Venom, for all her boastings of being a free-spirit, was wary to admit that she wanted something she couldn't have. And such a fact bothered her, for it was seemingly beyond her own control.
  8. welcome to lotc, where racism is only met with a few months worth of ban and then ignored entirely 🙃

  9. 🌟 THE FACES OF ELVENESSE 🌳 An Appearance Guide for New Players for the nation of Elvenesse The Crown of Elvenesse is home to a wide-variety of elves from all different backgrounds. Primarily made up of the Almenodrim of Aegrothond and the Mali’ame of Siramenor, our playerbase boasts a bounty of well-written culture and unique characters created by our community. We're also home to a smaller group made up of the Mali'ker, children of Luara. In this guide, we will show you how to create your Elvenesse persona, be it choosing their skin tone, their eye color, or the style of their clothing. Below, we will go into detail on how you can make your persona standout in the crowd! Skin Tones The basis of any character is the color of their skin, which can denote the culture from which they were born. In Elvenesse, we have two different spectrums that players can use to customize their characters. The Almenodrim The Almenodrim are much paler in their skin palette, primarily caucasian-white. Their skin can tan depending on their time spent sea-faring, or via their respective bloodline. The Mali’ame The Mali’ame often bear tanned skintones, which darken depending on their seed. Some are lighter in shade, whilst some can be chestnut brown or teak in color. Other shades of wood elven skin can also be akin to umber, mocha, or even hickory in their coloring. The Mali'ker Some Mali'ker also reside within Elvenesse, who bear skintones ranging from a pale grey to onyx-black. Hair and Eyes Eyes The eyes of your elf are important to their backstory, be it involving an established house/seed or created entirely from scratch. An Almenodrim often bears grey eyes, rarely taking on a different color otherwise. The Mali’ame are more likely to be seen possessing blue, green, brown, and yellow-gold eyes. Colors such as red, purple , and white-silver are extremely rare occurrences among the two larger groups, but more-likely possible among the Mali'ker of the city. Hair Elvenesse is home to an expansive palette of hair colors. Black hair is shared between both cultures, whilst the Mali'ame boast various shades of brown and auburn-red. The Almenodrim, however, bear a slightly more unique genepool with their blonde and gold-white hair. The few Mali'ker within Elvenesse boast white and grey hair as well. Clothing The fashion of Elvenesse is unique, in that it spans a variety of different trends and sometimes denotes either the rank or family that one’s character belongs to. The Almenodrim often adorn themselves in heavier cloaks and tunics, sharing some of their style with that of the human race. They also often wear ornate ornamentation, such as circlets, jewelry, and rings. These elves often wear shades of red, orange, green, and blue. The Mali’ame are more inclined to wear more-revealing garments, often with the intent of showing off their tattoos or physique. They will also add small details to their attire, such as feathers, painted beads, antlers, and bones. The children of the forest also refrain from wearing footwear, if it can be helped. They often wear shades of green, red, purple, orange, blue, yellow, and brown. Markings and Tattoos Though uncommon among the elves of Almenodrim, the Mali’ame commonly mark their skin with tattoos or markings to denote things like their achievements, their seed, or their devotion to the Aspects or the Mani. A proper guide done by @WuHanXianShi14 explains the meaning of these tattoos and markings, so a link to that will be provided here. It is encouraged to consider adding these tattoos to your skin, to add history and flavor to your new persona, though not required by any means if you desire to earn them via roleplay. In conclusion, this guide is meant to show you the details our players put into their personas, to help make them as unique and individual as possible. We hope this inspires you going forward, so that you can add your newly-made elf to our growing ranks and welcoming community!

  14. If anyone has any idea, are there any  public player-communities that revolve around Voidal Magic, or smaller communities of that kind that might be lookng for new players? I have a persona for it, but I have no idea where to go to find that kind of rp. My discord is MunaZaldrizoti#6175, or you can reply to this status. Thank you!!

(Not looking for magic btw, just a community that has voidal mages in it.)

Sutica has plenty of voidal mages, and like 3-5 teachers for stuff. They even used to have a magic college.

Are you only looking for void magic, or are you more interested in the more archaic elements of "magic" we see in ancient and early modern history? Are you more interested in the casting of let's say fireballs, or more complex systems that might deal with theology, scripture and philosophies?
