  1. A woman of middling age prays for the soul of Irene Sarkozy, believing her mission most admirable.
  2. Presumably nestled within the lush territory of Dobrov was the wig-and-spectacle donning Baroness of Woldzmir, a woman who matured in the luminous company of Dame Yuliya Styrne. The letter delivered to Elizaveta by a young courier that had valiantly ventured into the imposing depths of the Kremlin Anavet was recognized immediately, and knowing of the playwright's health, she quickly grasped at it. It felt as though all had grown dimmer - the torchlights, the sunlight that was suggested by the crevice produced between the curtains on the windowsill of her bedchambers, her heart. Elizaveta had lost the woman who had throughout her life been a constant guide and - in some capacity- a surrogate mother. She remembered the first time, aged eighteen, when she performed upon a stage, the fiery applause her characterization of Queen Anabel had elicited rousing in her something foreign and magnificent. Forty years later, she was a different woman yet her passion for the stage had not faltered. "The First of many to come - such is the travesty of my predicament," she voiced to one who lurked in the shadows as she rose, either limber hand of hers grasping the missive with ferocity. "My dearest, Madame," she spoke, meandering toward her balcony. "You shall be remembered upon the vast tapestry of man, your mind and its fruits of profound literary importance displayed upon banners and within ivory bastions of knowledge. Your advise to me has never been forgotten - and indeed, I have achieved freedom beyond imaginations... for a price, perhaps, but what change for the better is gratuitous?" "The first of the greats, you were. I am confident your pupils will honor your legacy as I will, forevermore."

  4. A TREATISE ON CANONICAL CHIVALRY 1810 There has been one great constant throughout the various Empires, Kingdoms, and governorates of Man - a concept that instills in any good, canonist individual humility and encourages them to sacrifice: service. It is the duty of those who welcomed themselves into the flock of the righteous to commit to service to their faith, regardless of the mode by which they do so. In this treatise, I will speak on faithful service by gallantry with a focus on the Code of Chivalry written by Maric Varodyr (and its resonance with aspects of Canonism). The code, bearing the tenets to which Knights of the Order of Exalted Owyn hold themselves, states the following: A knight shall live by honour, for glory, and guard the honour of fellow knights. Honour The Creator and maintain His Church. Keep the faith and act in righteousness. He shall serve his liege lord valorously and with conviction. Persevere to the end in any quest begun and never turn his back upon a foe. A Knight shall not give wanton offense and shall despise pecuniary reward. Give succour to widows and orphans and regard the honor of women. He shall offer that which is not needed, to those who are needy. And safeguard the helpless and uphold the weak. A knight shall respect those in authority but fight for the welfare of all. Abstain from Injustice, cruelty and deceit. He shall be vigilant and show courage, even in the face of evil. Resolve not with swords what can be with words. And at all times speak the truth, even if faced with death. In his blood the creator’s will shall be written. Regarded in the codex are the virtues of valor, altruism, and empathy - three of which are exemplary to any good Canonist. When guided by the light of GOD and instructed by his commandments, one spreads his benevolence unto those around them, further inspiring those around him. Bravery, from the standpoint of faith, can be measured by the voraciousness to which one upholds the Canonist creed despite the threats they are prone to encounter. In this world of ours, despite its natural beauty, lays undeniable evil - rooted deeply into earth by the legions of the unsalvageable. Acknowledging these dangers, a Knight of the Order must defy, at times, all odds for the greater good of GOD’s flock. They made a vow as they did upon each other sacrament of Canonism such as baptism and marriage… They must courageously uphold it. Secondly, I will address the tenets which endorse selflessness. To be generous with one’s time and wealth to the less fortunate is a quality not unfamiliar to the faithful. Since childhood, if instructed in a pious and loving environment as I was, one is instilled with the values of their forebearers - those who had stripped themselves of their riches and garments in service to GOD, and too, those who distributed them to the less fortunate. It is this extension of an arm, literal or metaphorical, to those who otherwise need it that furthers the notion that service and humility are entertained. Finally, implied in Varodyr’s code is empathy towards fellow descendants, regardless of who they are, in realisation of a communal love amongst us all. What can be mended through faith and words should be mended through faith and words. This is a principle renowned throughout humanity yet one often forgotten. It is a knight’s duty to be chivalrous, kind, and temperate so they may be judicious in how they handle taxing or sensitive affairs. There is one phrase of the code which consolidates these three aspects of the codex: “...For the welfare of all.” To persevere - spiritually, physically, and emotionally - against adversity. That is the distinctive quality of canonical chivalry and one that will not diminish in the foreseeable future so long as faith embraces the realm of man. 5. The Baroness Woldzmir lauded her sisters efforts in one of their routinely planned rendezvouses. "A fine fellow who serves as a testament to the excellence of our heritage," she commented, appeased by the report.
  6. The first woman who wielded the illustrious Antioch title, Grand Princess Aleksandra I of Muldav grew contented by the legacy her successor and grand daughter, Maya of Muldav, set for the future princess royals of Hanseti-Ruska. "May they honor it as I did, and as, too, their precessors have. Godan wills it so... Should they not, I'll have their disappointing tongues!"
  7. Elizabeth, Lady Woldzmir, awaited the unveling of the play to - at long last, and after such gruelling hours of rehearsal - an audience with glee.
  8. "Through GOD, we will be redeemed," decreed the Holy Mother, prostrated in prayer.
  9. The Baroness of Woldzmir mourned the loss of her nephew, so soon after the death of his Queenly mother. She had oft praised him for his pride, his resilience, and his loyalty to both family and country. Even across the isles of man, it was ascertained that the scions of House Carrion-Tuvyic lowered their heads in reverence in honor of King Josef I, not only a dear neighbor - but an intimate friend.
  10. An old crone has her interest piqued by the mention of 'thill yoga, having been lamenting the unfortunate aching of her bones for some time.
  11. Sister Anabel, the daughter of the First Prince of Rubern and its former regent Princess, chortled heavily from her abode in the Northlands, liberated from the struggles of urbana. Nevertheless, she'd be told of the announcement concocted by the deranged Mister Lothar Alimar, the very man who cost the House of Alimar their princely standing. "I am not surprised - the men of my family have always claimed power baselessly, and foolishly. This descendant of Otto Sigmar has no claim to my father's land, nor should he desire it - that land scourged with sin and famine. His blatant disregard for conduct, history, and intellect truly proves he does not have an ounce of Ruberni blood within him," penned the retired clergywoman to her grand-niece, the Margravine of Greyspine @Eryane
  12. The Baroness of Woldzmir heralded the release of the assorted poetry directly from her daughter, whilst she sat in the parlor of their homestead beside its hearth. She peered into the inconsolable flames, resigned to silence. A lone tear slipped against the hollow of her cheek, Milena’s sentiments panging relentlessly in her mind.
  13. this is such wonderful work! i look forward to reading more :)
  14. The Holy Mother prays for swift resolution and the fortification of intertwining love and devotion between all members of the Canonist flock.
  15. The Baroness of Woldzmir mourned her sister, consumed by an unshakable sorrow. She recalled their days nearly half a century before, sat beside a hearth accompanied only by each other and the lively stories they would read. “How I mourn you, my dear Vikky.. and ache, despite our years apart, to once more find your embrace - yet I know I will not, for many years.”
  16. "Now is a time of reckoning for the faithful - where the truth is bound to liberate us from the coils of sin and sacrilege," The Holy Mother intoned to her faithful sisterhood successively after engaging in communal prayer. She rose, raising to the heavens a trembling palm. She appeared weary and solemn, thus closing her eyes. "Iblees hath taken the form of these blaspheming traitors, and whilst GOD is merciful, their insulting transgressions against the sanctity of the Church will no longer be ignored."
  17. A passing nun politely informed Humbert, some presumed relative and successor of the renowned heretic Boniface, that the Pontiff is a widower, with a bride who expired many years prior his tenure as a clergyman. "Misinformation is a dangerous thing, Friar, and you seem to enjoy spreading it."
  18. “An honest error swiftly rectified,” Mother Roxelana intoned, partaking in an alleviating breath. “How fortunate we are to have a High Pontiff so earnest and forthright with his flock to guide us through these times.”
  19. “When questioning the faith of His Holiness, she questions the faith and judgement of the entire septarchy, who elected him. The pious, honest, and righteous blood in the Virosi line ended with His Late Holiness, it seems,” The Holy Mother Roxelana Anabel muttered to the prioresses of the order, her hand curled around her cross in alarm.
  20. THE ORDER OF SAINT CATHERINE EST. 1653, 1802 Sisters of The Order in guardianship of Displaced Children SAINT CATHERINE OF FELSEN TRUTH. HUMILITY. INTELLIGENCE. CHARITY. * TABLE OF CONTENTS SECTION I - ESTABLISHMENT SECTION II - IDEOLOGY SECTION III - STRUCTURE SECTION I - THE FIRST ESTABLISHMENT The rise in the Seventeenth century of tonsured women of the faith flourished in the infancy of the Atlasian continent. The sisterhood, in numbers, was few and scarcely spread with only three primary nuns that were settled in three distinct locations of the realms. Saint Judith of Czena, at the time but a young sister, kept a religious hovel in the Marantine woodlands where she thrived in the company of a garden and a warm pot of tea that she kept for travellers and holy knights. Sister Yuliya of Haense was the only nun in the most southern trenches of the land, residing within the Haeseni capital of Markev as a quiet but hard working member of the religious community. Sister Bogdanova of Hussaria remained in isolation within the hinterlands, proceeding to pursue a cloistered life of silent service to GOD. From this unlikely triumvirate of devoted women, a great sisterhood grew through zeal and reverence to revitalize the Church through the incorporation of holy women. In the Year of Our Lord, 1648, the Annsden Abbey was founded by The Archbishop Elphias of Metz and the Sisters Judith and Yuliya were tonsured as those who would uphold the mantle of this holy and sanctified build. From humble beginnings, the foundations of the Order of the Saint Catherine were laid, and continued to built upon with multiple women taking the cloth and swearing the holy vows of the Church. Upon the abdication of the High Pontiff Clement III, the sisterhood saw a great rise in their progressions and their numbers. Archbishop Elphias of Metz ascended the Exalted Throne as the High Pontiff Jude I; the glorious rise launching the sisterhood into sudden prominence and activity. It is recognised that without the faithful efforts of His Holiness, Jude I and Her Reverence, Mother Judith, the Order of the Saint Catherine would not flourish and proceed in such haste and devotion. The archives of the Annsden Abbey brought into sight the recorded vestiges of a bygone sororal order; The Order of St. Julia was conceived by Mother Lorina of Vekaro, its influence heralding the virtues and attributes of the small institution that provided inspiration for the reformation of the sisters and the genesis of the Order of the Saint Catherine. As the Church of Canon began to accommodate a plethora of vowed sisters, in the Year of Our Lord 1652, the Convent of Esteresa was established within the Principality of Evereux, commonly known as the Duchy of Curon. It was with great charity that His Serene Highness, Prince Alfred I of Cyrilsburg donated the institution to the Order, in hopes that the Mother Church’s purities would cleanse his streets of its unabsolved sin. In the same year, the Order combatted great hardship with the Haensic men who opposed the Church and the Lucienists, preying on the sisters as outlets of their abrasive hate. It was the fiery and inspiring words of Sister Yuliya that filled the Order, preventing submission and allowing the women to rise up and seize independence and sources of strength. Many years later, as humanity began to become plagued by war, the number of pious women dwindled, instead partaking in the sacrament of marriage and subsequently alleviating the issue of populations. On the year of GOD, 1802, at the behest of the High Pontiff Owyn the Third less than a month after his ascension, the Order of Saint Catherine was restored at the helm of the former Sister Roxelana, the reclusive great-niece of the first female Secretariat of the Mother Church, Sister Anabel, who retired from the Curia into a Catherinite abbey where she would remain in reflective solitude. Mother Roxelana and the capable Sister Johanna, with their Vicar’s blessing, began their efforts to revitalize the sisterhood - a component of the church indubitably vital to the inclusion of all in the flock of the faithful. SECTION II - IDEOLOGY The Order of the Saint Catherine behooves its dedicants to live with virtue and a continual strive for absolute sanctity. Saint Catherine, daughter to Holy Orenian Emperor John the First, was raised as a kind and honest spirit - one that slipped bread into her basket and ran down to feed the poor, to explore the shores with the common children, and fall into ruts of immersion with the books in her imperial father’s library. As she matured into a woman, Catherine had long been endeavoring to lead a life of virtue and verity, never called to indulge in the commodities and extravagances that were afforded to ladies of her station. Upon the seventeenth name day of Catherine Francesca, she took a high vow to never lie again, and upheld this sacred oath until she died thirty seven years later. This virtue is a venerable token of the Order, inspiring the women each day to act true as the blessed patron did so many years ago. Beatified and later sanctified for her integrity, the Order of Saint Catherine’s intention is to follow in her step and act as she did, true. Saint Catherine took no higher notice of herself in contrast to those that she walked amongst. The humble and modest nature she exhibited was inspired by the late Tuvya Carrion, one who would dress in mundane raiment and experience the world and community without great regard or recognition. Similarly, Catherine would leave her vanities at the palace when she sifted through the populated streets of Felsen, enthusing the work of the tradesman and common Orenian. Her relationship with the people was a critical influence on her life and the perspective people took of her; a strength she wielded and other nobles did not. The Order honors her humble demeanor, and takes it as another core ideology that is taught to the sisters: To be humble and to be true is to lead a wholly respectable and pious life. The power of language is a weapon that is pushed to be a constant reliance and utility of all sisters of the Order. Through the religious and academic dogmas of humanity are the greatest powers found; that all men and women can use to strengthen belief through education. The Order of the Saint Catherine provides an extensive pedagogy that reminds the women of their intelligence and capacities. SAINT CATHERINE OF FELSEN, PATRON OF THE ORDER “Reform is on our horizon, shining gold with religious fervour. GOD is of love, of restoration and of mercy.” Saint Judith of Czena SECTION III - STRUCTURE The order follows strict structural codes that renders formations that enable tonsured sisters to progress and pursue their ascetic lives in accordance to the Church of the Canon. Within the cohorts of the Order of the Saint Catherine, an ecosystem is built that encourages equal levels for the majority of the sisters, exempting the official roles which sisters can strive for to rise within the Church as secondary and tertiary servants of GOD. In alignment to the Church, the High Pontiff wields absolute authority from the Exalted Throne over the Order of the Saint Catherine, and no sister can challenge his judgement regardless of her office. The sisters of the Order are sworn into their devotion until death, and so all of them are encouraged to aspire to deliver glory and charity in the name of the Creator. All sisters are expected to uphold the principles of the Canonist faith through their education of the Holy Scrolls. HOLY MOTHER-SUPERIOR The Holy Mother of the Church of the Canon is the highest ranking woman of the clergy and is the supreme mother of the Order of the Saint Catherine. She sits the figurative throne beneath the High Pontiff, whom she closely confides and works with. The Holy Mother, in officiality, is the Prelate of the Sisterhood and is thus in charged with assuring the discipline of the Order. ABBESS An abbess runs a convent or abbey in alignment and relation to the Order of the Blessed Catherine and the Church of the Canon. PRIORESS A prioress can either be the arch sister of a priory or assistant head over an abbey or convent. She is tasked with the responsibilities of managing the internal affairs of the institution as well as the relations with other monasteries and communities. The prioress serves duly in her duties of discipline and organisation of the sisters within the convent, and actively participates as a right hand to their abbess. Many prioresses claim origins from prosperous houses and families, often being the fourth or latter daughter that would be unlikely to serve higher marital purposes. TONSURED SISTER A sister that has underwent the tonsuring rites that induct and swear her into the Order of the Blessed Catherine and the Church of the Canon. A tonsured sister has dedicated her life to GOD unto death is delivered. POSTULANT Within all religious institutions belonging to the Order of the Blessed Catherine, women who intend to swear their vows yet have not participated in their tonsuring rite are known as postulants. Typically, a postulancy can last from six months to two years, allowing for the woman to fix her life to the discipline and lifestyle of the Order. A postulant generally is an active participant in the life of the abbey, progressing alongside the novices and sisters in prayer and religious work. Tenured postulants are women who have been summoned by the Ecclestical Court to the Order of the Blessed Catherine so they may serve a sororal tenure for heinous crimes, sins, or impurities committed. A tenured postulant serves alongside the sisters until the Mother Superior summons a sororal conclave, in which the sisters will cast votes unanimously in favour or disagreement of relieving the postulant of her tenure. All sisters must vote in agreement for the postulant to be relieved of the cloth and dedication to the Order. NOVICE Women who seek an education in theology and the works of GOD serve in sororal tenures for the Order. Those who undergo these tenures are known as novices, and participate in active life in alignment to the ascetic and policies of the sisterhood. Novices can be wayward women who are inclined to learn more about GOD or the academic courses offered by the professed sisters. VOLUNTEER A volunteer can be a Canonist man or woman who dedicates their time to help out in the affairs, events and progressions of the Order of the Blessed Catherine. SORORAL COUNCIL A governing body of clergywomen who discuss the greater affairs and progressions of the Order of the Blessed Catherine.
