  2. The journey had been extensive but, despite her matured age, The Dowager of Temesch, Helena Augusta, endured it spiritedly. Tall and proud did she join her kith and his friend in this foreign land - encompassed by legend and fantasy. She had once traveled to the Aeldinic land of Touron to lay to rest the ashes of General Armand de Rennes and was an avid explorer of foreign realms. None, however, rivaled the Elysian paradise that was before her. She smiled, knowing she would ne'er forget the sites she had seen.
  3. The late Princess Maria Horen of the Renatian Empire drank a flute of Ardennic champagne alongside her husband and their dear cousin, Hannibal, as they surveyed their descendants from the afterlife. “I foresee them doing well for themselves, Your Imperial Highness,” the Countess of Marsen drawled with dramatic flair. “They survive us yet.”
  4. Helena Augusta, The Countess of Temesch and Dame, some years past, recognized the sacrifice made by her nephew with respect. “A true Count of Susa would put family above all else. Anthony, God rest him, taught the boy well,” she told her sons Ioannes and Adrian, alongside her daughter the Dowager Crown Princess Alix of Sutica, in their modest homestead in the South. @JoanOfArc @venclair @Tiresiam
  5. The twin sister of Corwin Alexander, The Princess Katharina of Savoy, received the news with dumbfounded shock. It had only been recently that he had wed to one Princess Alice of Temesch and Catherine had sent her devoted regards to her brother. Readying herself and the court for the marriage of the Duke of Drusco, the newfound matriarch of the Royal Sutican House - or so she had been decreed by her brother’s obituary - could not help but ponder what her day would be like.
  6. The daughter of George I and Johanna I, The Savoyardic consort herself and a blessed descendant of Saint Tylos, pities those led astray by dwarven subterfuge and hopes they will in time see virtue and reason.
  7. “It behooves the flock of the faithful to restore righteousness to its sheep. It was Pontiff Everard who crowned my mother, the first Apostolic Queen of Sutica, and it was he who crowned my own father-in-law, the Prince of Savoy. He was, without a man, a doubt with unbridling virtue. How could he turn so wretchedly upon us, his leal audience, when it was he who was entasked to promulgate the word of GOTT?” Thought the Princess of Savoy as she was genuflected before Michael I, flanking her own husband as the Ashford crown was lain upon his head. At that moment, all worries dissipated from the mind of that Barclay scion. Michael I was a man who would not be swayed by foreign devices. He was good, temperate, and above all divine. The tumult which consumed Il Palazzo Aggrade suddenly stilled and a bright light clouded Catherine’s heart and filled her soul. “With faith, the great fire of humanity is restored.”
  8. The newfound Princess of Savoy writes a missive in kind: “To Savoyards, old and new: It is the prerogative of the Crown of Savoy to enjoy the development of humanity, United in a godly and righteous mission but never beneath a foreign Crown. A Sovereign is raised upon the will of his or her people and thus must be vested in their interests. During the rule of Prince Olivier II, the interests of the commons will not be ignored; in fact, they will be echoed. Have patience and trust in us, your loyal stewards and those charged to uplift you, to shepherd you through these times of great confusion. The Sun bows to none but the divine force which powers its light. Our good Prince Olivier I may not be with us at present but his intentions are good. His successors vow, in light of this, to remain with you until our death. Signed, Katharina Johanna.
  9. I entered this server when I was 14. Now, some four years after, I can say that not a lot is done regarding predators on here. It hurt my younger self to see the player that targeted me back then, and bereaved me of my innocence, continue being supported, unimpeded by his actions. At the time I lacked the courage necessary to speak out, perhaps because I felt I had no proper network that would support me - even after I had screenshots in which I was begged by them to not say anything. And so, I waited, and waited, and waited until it was ultimately too late. I hope no other younger player has to experience similar trauma and anguish over it. As a playerbase let’s take responsibility for making sure EVERY SINGLE PLAYER HERE feels safe. We have a responsibility, as players of this server, not only to storytelling but also to assuring the medium in which that is done is comfortable.
  10. thank god i made the switch over to discord in 2016. more seriously, let’s start holding people accountable when rumors first come out about them. If they happen to resurface several times, I doubt they’re actually facetious. Do better.
  11. “I love you,” whispered the Countess of Temesch to her adult son one night as he slumbered. She had come to visit from her home in the Orenian countryside, as she usually did, and found in pertinent to remain with him until the night’s end. “You will always be my boy.”
  12. The Hereditary Princess of Savoy, looking over the bassinets of her children one sun-lit morn’, concluded a chapter of a story: “And so, mein kinder, a great friendship was born - and an even greater legacy began.”
  13. vargs as a group value communication, understanding, and genuine communication between them and the players they interact with. You touched upon an interesting point about villainy. I also think that villainy is only as effective as the quality of the rp that players encourage. For many of us, it’s important to convey the complexities of the characters when meeting other continental dwellers and perhaps leave them with a sense of intrigue (and at times gut-wrenching trepidation). It’s not their penchant for violence, or their thirst, that makes vargs palpable villains but rather the parallels of their condition to that of humanity’s. Their presence is powerful and enticing because, in the darkest sense, their constant battle with themselves is relatable to many individuals. We appreciate your insights and hope to hear more from you :)
  14. The Countess of Temesch had sat at the room's posterior throughout the meeting's duration. She had not pondered the argument in favor of the ordination of women until then and was left with insatiable intrigue for what may soon be as she returned to her apartments.
  15. The knight captain Helena Augusta accepts her duty with responsibility and solemnity.
  16. The Knight-Captain Helena Augusta, Countess of Temesch, had retired from the royal courts to her familial homestead, Rosemoor Manor, years ago. As her various children traversed the continent, she felt herself truly committed to the Order and her faith. Every evening, after a gruelling day of training, did the Novellen anticipate a letter from her children. While their replies to her letters were not constant, she knew they were. She felt them from afar, and despite their differences, exuded love for the children of she and Prince Robert Francis. The maturing Novellen made peace with the independence of her children. She admired them all the more for it, knowing that she was once a young lady with just enough ambition to circle the nest but not enough to soar out of it.
  17. The Hereditary Princess of Savoy, sat by the hearth in the Savoyard Palazzo's library, had been a spectator to the Fennic delegation's arrival earlier that day. She recalled them with fondness and thought them formidable allies.
