anyone ever considered that if batman used the millions of dollars he had available he could have invested in charities and just built hella large rehab centres or facilities capable of housing homeless and disadvantaged people, who turn towards crime as the only method of surviving.
Instead he just breaks their bones in several different places in ways that healthcare insurance def can't cover and probably making that person's kids have to result to crime and causing further issues?

There are some evils in Gotham that charity cannot solve. Bruce Wayne actively contributes to the city's wellbeing through his company, endorsing charities and raising funds to improve the overall quality of life. However, the likes of the Joker and other members of his rogues gallery are often beyond rehabilitation, and so he takes up the mantle of the Dark Knight to ensure they can't rob anymore children of their parents.

My shower thought really started a hot topic jesus
all I’m saying is the man in comics games n movies leaves ppl with probs tens of thousands of medical bills worth of injuries when they’re already fighting for scraps so is he more of an anti-hero in acknowledgment to this context rather than an overall do gooder
maybe he just is just an XP grinder and needs levels and Gotham is just his mob farm

Depends on which version of Batman we are talking about. Some are more brutal than others, it's true, such as Frank Miller's interpretation of the character. However, what separates him from anti-heroes is the fact he lives by a moral code. Although Bruce has no qualms in beating criminals senseless, he refuses to kill and often gives people a chance at reform or at the very least to surrender. He has shown sympathy to foes like Mr Freeze, who became a villain in trying to save his terminally ill wife, and frequently assists the Gotham Police in carrying out their duties.

sometimes I think lotc staff should just be told to go fly around atlas and axios to see how cool things were back then.
Spent a good few minutes just flying across diff event sites, like mordring or just ones done in freebuild n now it feels ETs are put so tightly on a leash

we did have antag, as well as ando'alur, dark harbour, cloudbreaker, and a few other pretty large events last map - ET have a lot of support and availability to use lore (alongside, for the first time ever shockingly, maplore). the map is young at just two months old and some ET i think just dont have the energy for a mega-eventline just after the Mori one, from which, a large complaint from players and ET alike were that large scale combat events on repeat or in succession just aren't very fun; which is why the more lax or explorative path by some ET is being taken doing different types of events other than "go here, kill stuff". There is plans for a lot of big stuff this map and obviously an ET can take on any project they'd like, the map is just pretty new and I don't think those options are fully ready to be explored when the ET is starting to ramp up again and isn't set back by lack of buildworlds, warps, and taking time to roleplay and enjoy the server as a primary during the team hiatus which ended only a month ago.
I just think calling it leashed or restrained is damaging and creates an image of a team not allowed to do what it wants to do, which is the polar opposite of the truth. I think we have all the tools available to our disposal (except curios :((( and better pve support :((() to make some good stuff happen. I know some ET like Aldukhan and Whitewolf are already doing/preparing regional eventlines for a larger group of players in the same vein as Naga, which I'm excited to see.
The team's just getting started- a month off hiatus and a week past team reforms and revival, I think we're set for a lot of really cool shit this map I'm very hopeful to see. A lot of maplore being utilized with posts being updated and players really making a difference and their impact on the world through those posts. I've gotten offers from CT to take videos and do posts, I am just cautious on overloading events with too many members and drastically lowering quality and individual impact on them, which has been something I personally have been really proud of with the Naga eventline i'm running personally.

I think most of this then has just been a flam hate post as I think after their lore embargo all the hella rich n wild events left for a good portion of time, and I just haven't yet had the time or chance to feel that return on Aevos. Please understand I wasn't trying to insinuate a culprit or anything - I think all current ST (and you yes you) are wonderful and fit the role perfectly - I was more so trying to insinuate that they were held back, and well as you've suggested you're not trying to bloat the world already which makes a lotta sense
tl;dr was reminiscing of old events and Flam's lore embargo rlly killed my mood for the last few maps and haven't had the chance to see what Aevos' events look like.
p.s. also wasn't trying to say anything bad about your eventline, I was using it as an example of 'seen it not heard about it' as I'd just like to hear about events, even if I'm not attending them I think it's nice for players to hear about stuff that is going on

yea i get what you mean, no hard feelings at all. it is just frustrating sometimes to hear people say things are bad and I don't know how they arrived at that conclusion. thank you for giving me your thought process and talking it out though, helps me paint a better picture.

Why do some nations have 600 acres of farmland who you growing food for??

it's not weird to have farms the size of cities. it's weird to NOT have farms the size of cities outside. realistically speaking, most of Aevos should be farmland in order to support the population since a city cannot be fed by fields smaller than itself (especially not with medieval era farm technology (no synthetic fertilizers))

What are ppls thoughts on a piece of lore that changes how magic is cast n used, this is just a shower thought I had but rather than just requiring line of sight how would people feel about an alternative optional system that requires rituals / somatic and vocal elements
mages rather than being able to sit silently n cast have to do flavourful gestures and incantations, or perhaps have to stay in the same place to draw out their spell, maybe it could be an alternative form of focus too in that the mage can get back to their spell if they lose focus at the same stage where they left it
(example being mage is drawing their ritual on the ground around them but knocked away, they manage to get back and finish drawing whatever was needed and bAM the spell is fulfilled)

It wouldn't be new ones!
My idea would sorta be like a feat or overhaul, (feat making it optional but irreversible, i.e. you either use the new system or just cast where you can see, you can't flick between them)the idea would be, right now you can sit in a chair and as long as you have Line of Sight (LoS) you can just cast, only needing to do a tell
the feat/overhaul would be rather than just LoS, you have to do verbal+somatic elements, or do some sort of ritual to cast it, maybe the option to do one or the other depending on your situation
I.e. the new system, you can't just sit in a chair you'd have to be doing a verbal and loud incantation, as well as moving your hands or body to fulfil the spell, or if you're out in the open you would draw some sort of ritual around yourself
It'd also mean that maybe connection operates differently, maybe rather than just losing your entire spell if you fulfil the incantation or ritual (say drawing this circle with runes, or fulfilling a set of phrases and gestures) the spell can still be finished
It'd also mean that people would have different methods they'd have to use to break your connection, which could spice up rp rather than just pocket sand, such as getting you away from your ritual spot, or stopping you from talking / restraining your hands to keep you occupied - which to note, right now you could still technically cast a spell from behind a shield as long as you could see over/around it

who here would want to join a posh aristocrat guild w/ focus on economy, betting and gambling and fun

maybe I'll make a child character to live in a city and rob people that might be fun yeah I think I'll rob people with a kitchen knife all English, oh I'll give him a bri'ish accent too to make it more fun yeah that'd be fun

I feel like the staff members responsible for handing out bans and punishments need to realise they should contact and discuss the issue with a responsible player, rather than outright punishing them without any prior contact. Regardless of that person's behaviour everyone is entitled to be talked too and furthermore it leads to a more healthy outcome and helps that player shape their behaviour in a positive way.
-
I saw a ban appeal and just remembered one of my earliest bans which was a mob grinder lmao, and I sat and discussed and chatted about it, had a laugh or two with the banning mod and he was like "Well it's your first offense and I can see it wasn't just you involved but because you used it most I'm going to give you a three day ban for it" and I was completely happy with that and learnt from it
So many bans nowadays happen without any prior contact or even attempt at intervention, and I think that's what the moderation team really need to understand is the critical part of a punishment.
Players don't learn or change behaviour from a silly xyz duration ban, it's the conversation you have with them to help them understand that will actually impact their behaviour.
