Lgbt Rights Debate

Was at school.

Well this thread blew up. : o.

Also, Gaius, I'd say a good deal. It's tough to make the assumption all gay/***** people don't do jack but complain on the internet. Though that's what I gather you are saying. Someone making themselves available to answer questions in relation to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity can, if the person being spoken to had any semblance of open-mindedness, make a certain difference. It could mean voting yes to a bill propagating unions, or marriage, or voting no.

mental illness is a medical condition that disrupts a person's thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. @ Ballnazor.

There are many trans people who function perfectly fine in society, and relate to others quite well. That is the textbook definition of a mental illness(What I put above). Homosexuality, Transexuality/gendered people, are in no way able to be classified as the above. Some may harbor mental illness, but so do a good deal of people, regardless of Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation.

Definitions change in relation to the idea marriage is religious. Satanists get married, and they harm the non-secular viewpoint far more than two men. So why is it wrong? I can see a catholic officiating a marriage between two consenting atheists, or two consenting La-Fayette Satanists, if said priest was a bit daft. This is directly harmful to the church. Two men enjoying their lives together does not.

Just got back, went to the bog took a piss, no issue aroused.

Onto my actual views, though.

Call me old fashioned or whatever, I don't even care. I believe in the Victorian idea of the public and the private spheres of society, where affection and love etc. is kept inside the private sphere and not in the public one. Now, I, like a lot of the other people on this thread have no problem with homosexuals, but what we don't like is seeing it. It makes us feel uncomfortable, it's a matter of fact. If more homosexuals kept their love-life and all the rest of it in the private sphere, like the rest of respectable society I doubt many people would really care what you get onto behind closed doors. Unfortunately, I find this not to be the case, and please don't bullshit me by saying "You're full of bullocks. This happens!" because that's bullocks in itself. Two weeks ago two lads came up to me, skipping arm in arm yelling "We're gayy!!!~~~~" and practically fucked each other with their tongues like 5 feet away from me. I didn't enjoy the experience to say the bear minimum and if my girl wasn't there I don't know what might've happened. I'm not trying to say I'm afraid they'll bum rape me or try anything, but I still didn't enjoy it. Some of the LGBT people are so in your face about this thing, and that sparks the annoyance that is aroused by people.

Sorry if I've offended anyone, but honestly, that's my opinion. Also, could you please stop acting like the world owes you a favor please, everyone has quirks and weird **** going on, Katherine. I also believe that this should apply to straight couples as well, don't get me wrong. Tongue-fkn in front of another human being isn't the best way to have people look at you is it?

Yippe, it's kinda common courtesy to ask people not to show PDA right infront of people, but in correlation, I'll explain.

The two you encountered were likely just coming to terms with their sexuality. Which would prescribe need to flaunt it. I don't want to see a man and a woman french-kiss close to me, and I wouldn't want two men too either. Straight or gay, it's common courtesy. That is more in correlation with PDA.

Well then, if the brain structure is the same as a women's(or male's for female-to-male trans), then there are genetic ties which means that Freya's argument about ADHD being a disorder and trans not being one has gone out the window.

Biology don't equal genetics homie

"Symptoms of GID in children include disgust at their own genitalia, social isolation from their peers, anxiety, loneliness and depression" - Wikipedia. It does seem to affect most of those.

Does it prescribe need to flaunt it though? Does it?

Mentally? Yes. Imagine keeping a secret for eighty years, then feeling compelled to tell everyone. Sure, it's annoying. But we deal with **** other people give us, is this so bad?

James. I can't speak for that. I'd ask the Trans Resource who posted previous. Only thing I'm authority on is gay stuff. : p

So far, all of this has been back and forth trench warfare: the lines don't move, the intellectual casualties continue to increase, and it will accomplish very little.

Let's change the game. Suppose I had two trans people: one who was a woman in the body of a man and one who was a man in the body of a woman. If I performed a body-swap a la ancient chinese fortune cookie magic, so that now each body houses the mind of the other, are they still trans?

They were far from eighty bud. When I got with my girlfriend I didn't slam my tongue down her throat in front of some young lad in the middle of Morrisons?

No they become cisgender. But applying logic to an illogical scenario seems a little... flawed.

Just some information. Still kind of disappointing that equality doesn't exist everywhere in the states.

For the uninformed.

Sociologists Kristen Schilt and Laurel Westbrook define cisgender as a label for "individuals who have a match between the gender they were assigned at birth, their bodies, and their personal identity" as a complement to transgender.

Biology don't equal genetics homie

Well there is some evidence to show there is some genetics to it such as siblings born later are more likely to be gay than first or second born children with 33% chance increase for every sibling.

It's mentioned a bit in a book done by Edward M. Miller "Homosexuality, Birth Order, and Evolution: Toward an Equilibrium Reproductive Economics of Homosexuality"

Wouldn't that mean that the 3rd or 4th child would have a 99% chance?

Unless if the percentage compounds. IE, 1 x (1.3333)^n, n being the number of children. no sorry, that's **** math. I forget exactly how compounding percentages works.
