Lgbt Rights Debate

Meh, I've just gotten used to swearing a lot. Not that it changes my statement in any way, Its just how i express myself.

Right, but the way you express it might offend people. I'm not saying your view is wrong and you are wrong for feeling that way, but maybe not... You know... Swear as much?

My opinion on this is that this thread has already severely and possibly irreversibly damaged the relationships of many of our players with one another by bringing their diverging opinions into conflict, and that dislike will spill into other areas of the server. There is no benefit to this conversation, just cost.

Indeed, I was curious what purpose this thread could serve.

That just seems melodramatic. Why does everything need a purpose? Debate for the sake of debate is nice. Lago, if someone takes hostilites here and turns them into the rest of the server, they already have an underlying issue with their handling of anger.

Are you saying your opinion of, say, Ballnazor, is completely unchanged? And if you are, can you say that everyone's opinion of Ballnazor is unchanged?

(Sorry for using ya for the example Ballnazor, cba to trawl the whole thread for more. If you've objections I'll happily nuke this post.)

Never spoken to Ballnazor, have no intention too. My opinion of him is unchanged from nothing back into nothing, others? maybe not.

Debate for the sake of debate reminds me of a saying: The Greeks talked too much and did too little. It would be wise to move past Reddit-like "debate for debate" and convert it to more useful things even still. Likewise, can I get a translation for my Greek ;)

I think LGBT rights are bogus and i'm a lesbian myself. Everyone should just be able to love who they damn well want, whether straight or otherwise. Doesn't mean you should get put on a pedestal or persecuted for it.

I don't want to be crucified here but if all the first humans were gay then we'd most likely not be here today.

Freya. No one ever claimed all humans were originally gay(thats what I gather from the last line) Though, there is some vauge evidence to support the idea that a majority of humanity has bisexual tendency. Which I find rather funny,

Epigenetics support the idea that it's occuring in the womb, not outside. I'm sure that some stuff occurs in reality, too, that affects it. But I know that nobody randomly says "Hey, I like Penis/******."

She didn't say the first humans were gay, she said IF they were gay then there would be no humans around today.

I have been raised to believe that being attracted to the same sex is a disappointment, a failure.

Most of my family has grown out of that belief through the past ten years. I didn't know what I truly thought about it until I was about eleven and figured out things for myself. I support equality. No matter sexual identity or orientation.

The community that surrounds me at the moment is slowly realising that it is completely natural. I know some homophobic individuals that don't admit to being homophobic, but flinch at the sight of any LGBT as an automatic reaction.  Eventhough this is slightly going off the topic, I am so delighted to know change is coming for those who are oppressed and discriminated against.

And I have shaped to have the people that are close to me (except my parents) develop a "love who you want to love, there is no need for labels" belief.

In my point of view- I'm way past arguing about whether or not LGBT should be able to marry.

Because the thought of the community not being able to marry just makes me think "Well. That's kind of dumb"

But that is completely my opinion. I respect the opinions who don't believe in equality, however that does not mean that they are correct in my eyes.

They don't flinch because they're homophobic. They flinch for the same reason they don't watch gay pornography.

My response to most current stupid political issues, including this one: I don't care.

I'm going to live life the way I want to, and as long as your ideal life isn't tormenting me, then do whatever you want. It shouldn't be an issue, most things in modern politics are worthless just like this debate. So be yourself, and do whatever the **** you want to.
