Rittsy explains this in his post, silly meme for you.  If you can't pvp then clearly you have to rp fight, don't like to rp fight and just want to pvp people? Then don't go where you can't pvp... Rp and PVP default will always be in conflict. So give the rpers a safe haven and PVPers the room they need. It's a good compromise. 

 

Little towns and such would always get pillaged back in the day. What did they do? Call for help from a nation or raise up their own force and strike back. If you want you're little special group of rpers and be cut off from everyone else then I've no idea why you are rping on this server. 

 

It's little clicks like this that create issues, as they normally dislike each other and pick fights. 

Well, PvP default was taken into rule because there were a lot of ban reports for power-gaming or am i wrong in that?  The two systems sort of speaks against each other.

So it's okay to be a reclusive RP group that denies all attempts at outside intervention as long as you're large, but if you're a small community then you deserve to die in fire and brimstone? This is a set of worrying double standards and this is literally undoing all the progress the server has made towards convalescence over the past few months.

 

This is literally staff endorsed animosity between those who prefer RP-fighting and those who prefer PVP.

 

You're assuming things, This is just how the rules are now. Soon VIPs will have plots and you can have small group rp again... Im not saying that what we have now is 100% fool proof and set in stone and you well know there will always be a rift between the two, why not just try to make it easier on everyone. This idea that you are going to force the two together in peace is absurd. Think of the age group most of the server is, I know most of you will find this offensive or me using stereotypes but its the truth.

 

It's one of the reasons why I supported the pugsy change. I am not the same person I was at 15, I'm not even the same person I was last year... As our vets age we try to adjust, while still keeping the server friendly to the younger group. Its why there is so much trust in the players in these changes.... You want us to trust the players more but when its granted its treated with disdain.

I don't think Rhia is saying, "Don't RP in small groups" but instead she is saying "RP wherever you want, just make sure you have friends that can help you." Really, If people RP making alliances then if they do get attacked, they an call upon their allies to help defend.

And people saying it is the death to all RP are silly, because it only regards combat RP in places. I believe for a week or so, things will be hectic, everyone will be raiding everyone but after everyone calms down, the raids will slow down too. Give it a chance for everyone to abuse the rule, then wait till they get bored of it and calm down, before making the decision to keep the rule or not if there is intend to change it. I think that is why it is pushed forward to the Temp map, the time it will take for us to get to 4.0 will be plenty of time for the raiding groups to calm their farms for 4.0. 

Also Dark elves, stop complaining, that raid was done in RP for RP reasons and no PVP was done while any of you where alive.

and if you think about it this could even generate new rp and friendships. Honestly.... If you see a MAJOR, totally exploitable thing then pipe up... otherwise isn't it worth a shot to try this out? I think so :)

 Well I think you guys can get separate regions but you are literally on top of each other and I think thats why he put you two together.

Raids are going to be mehh but it's good to see we are finally pushing roleplay back to the major cities. If you live in the wilds expect to be sacked and pillaged, it makes sense in a world like the Fringe.

I think its worth a shot, if it doesn't work it can always be removed.

I think it's worth a trial run... but not in the fringe.

 

Maybe return to the charter system for regions (until 4.0)? Pay a different amount of minas for a different size plot, and get the benefits of a town flag? It would emulate the relative accessibility of regions in 4.0 (In that towns won't require VIP or Nation status) while still restricting every ambitious applicant from getting a town.

 

If we had a way to offer protection to smaller groups who don't have VIP, we could limit the risk.

^ this sure the rule changes will work just fine but as soon as i you move onto the regions that only nations will get protection in the fringe (( I hope in 4.0 the claiming plots and vip plots will have to power to toggle the flag if they wish)) How can it fully be tested if we cant even use some of it? I like the changes atlest during war time for nations it will work best but for day to day it might be a pain, Sure we can try build a force but what do we do if a nation raids we go for revenge and they use their no pvpflag to protect themselves? Can they do this and just raid all they want with no punishment?, The one thing we cant get access to because of the fringes rules?

Alright, alrighty people. It's clear that we overlooked some things and further discussion is needed to work out the kinks. We are completely willing to amend our changes and adjust them accordingly, so stop pretending like they are set in stone as they are and it's the end of the world. Nonconstructive criticism and threats to ignore the changes aren't helping anyone.

I think the rules are mostly fine as they are, people just need time to get use to them and give people time to have their fun raiding until 4.0 where they should of calmed down, if they haven't by then, then perhaps a change is in order.

You got a video of raiders recently that broke a bunch of rules and raided for giggles. No real reason other than "hate elves" when there is no IC proof we were all elves. They /slaughtered/ a human child. I saw no punishment given then. Why should we believe any help will come next time when they raid us over. and over. and over. and camp the SS pillar?

Your obviously judging them ooc'ly for what they did in rp lol, they killed a human child? Deal with that in rp, is what I would say don't get butthurt even stolen and broken pixels y'know? No one deserves to get butt hurt over **** pixels that you do by clicking a few buttons. They probs didn't do it for gigles anyway too lol, thats just an unfair assumption tbh.
