I like the changes.

Fyodor goes off to mass-recruit new players.

It's honestly not that bad, I just think the PvP - RP regions are gonna cause a problem. Of course, I could be wrong. Just let it be tested for a little while. Most of the people I see complaining are the same usual few who can never accept change when it happens.

For now, just wait and see how it works out.

I wished for a headstrong admin team willing to push the server in whatever direction to make us the best we can be. Rope the community along, kicking and screaming if you have to. I've never seen a change worth noting that didn't come with severe initial resistance.

Carry on.

So was I misreading when I saw a pay-to-win element creeping in there?

Are you keeping the server up and running? ^_^

So just some thing in a skype chat Does this mean that one/two man raids are allowed? and during raids is the only time you are allowed to lock pick and now with no raid times to limit it this. is this allowing lock picking once more with all the person has to say this is a raid?

3) Now, onto the last point. If the prior two changes didn’t set your hair on fire, this last one certainly will. After much deliberation, we have decided to return PvP to an absolute default. Many of you will be extremely pleased with this, many of you will want to stab us, but regardless this change was needed to make the other two changes fruitful. This means that we are revoking the majority decision which decides what type of style is used in a fight. In order for it to be an RP fight, EVERYONE must agree to it, otherwise it’s PvP. The exception to this is if the style of fighting is already decided, so if a group of 5 decide on RP fighting and then a single person comes along afterwards and tries enforcing PvP default, they can be told to (kindly) gtfo. Also, should someone lose in an RP fight, they cannot be forced to kill themselves mechanically if they do not want to. With that being said, players may still be killed mechanically within a safe zone without using PvP (via a guard force’s execution apparatus, for example).

Just saying that you didn't change this at all because it never was the majority vote that decided the way we fight I was told this by two GMs after I was apart of a huge argument between a majority that wanted RP and the minority that wanted PVP the PVPer got what they wanted because even if there is a majority if they argue enough they get their way.

Not the largest fan of the PvP default, but I do understand the decisions behind it. I hope that it won't cause too much of an uproar.

If possible I would like these questions to be addressed for clarity's sake.

In addition to this, how is allowing someone to essentially ruin the chance of RP combat to occur due to one single person wishing for PVP, constructive in the pursuit to lower OOC drama? This part confuses me especially, considering that majority deliberation is now irrelevant.

4.0 has a way of handling this. I believe Native's already posted how it works but just in case I'll say no more. Devs got this bit covered.

I know, I meant a method to get regions on the Fringe. Obviously this change is more geared towards solving problems in 4.0, but I feel like this is a small thing that could be done to please more players while we remain on the Fringe.

EDIT: Also, to GM's/Admins, I know you're getting a hard time with this change, but I think the best course of action is to try these changes and amend accordingly (rather than amend them before they've been tried). Perhaps it's not my place to suggest how you respond to criticism, but I feel like there are a lot of us who would like to see these tried before changes are made. Chances are there will be issues, but my guess is that many of the ones projected will amount to nothing.

Seems interesting... I'm willing to try it. I just hope raiding doesn't become a huge problem again.

Oh you think money is what keeps the server going.

You're so cute hunny bunny :3

She means that money is what allows us to have a server.

i weep with joy : )

if you think about this, it makes total sense in rp

  • large cities that bandits would otherwise stay away from cannot be raided anyway
  • smaller unprotected settlements that would be easy pickings for bandits will be raiding like they normally would without any ooc barrier

now rp will be more centralized and fun : )

As to expand what Samsan99 said.

If no raid rules apply now, is it possible for a one man raid?

And in a one man raid, is it possible to pick-lock a chest since it counts as a raid?

Than return 5 minutes later and claim it is a raid, and repeat?

If this is or not the case than reply- I would really like to know about these questions.

Edit:

Also does anyone remember the statistics here?
