[Ooc] So You Think You Can 1V1 An Orc?

Alright, I got an uruk as one of my mains, he is hovering 'round 9ft. Anyways I was chilling out, reprosentaten the uzg like a boss when a 6ft human in leather armor came up to me. This human was mugging me, after a few minutes into our rp fight he emotes *charges at Shreck, going to tackle him.* I ended up winning the fight and let him ss back to spawn.... but were the hell do people get the idea they can tackle a beast over twice their size? They should show fear, not courage or the urge to attack it...

An 8' 11" man: 4aHcTea.jpg

That man was 439 pounds, now imagine him having the build of Arnold Schwartznegger, some form of weapon training/drills all his live (orc culture is extremely militaristic) and a pair of tusks. You get a 500-600 pound tower of flesh that could literally rip you in half, Who the **** would mug that? Humans should not be doing this, especially if it is an olog that could easily be 800 pounds.... humans..... just stop, just no.......

This does not mean orcs are impossible to kill, if you plan on hunting down a greenskin bring a spear, bring a bow, bring a mage or even a few friends. What I'm trying to get across here is that you cannot 1v1 an orc with a sword and a pair of chain, you need to either exploit our weaknesses or bring a few people with you to level the field. ( Or the magical power of pvp default )

EDIT: I can't believe their is another post almost exactly like

this.... https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/113730-orcish-sizes-and-roleplay-battles/?hl=bloodlust

I know a lot of people have a very different opinion than mine, I'd actually like to know, go ahead and leave a comment - just keep it constructive.

9ft? That's pretty much an orog. I hope he only has three emotions and can't think without speaking his thoughts aloud.

Eh, Thurak is over 9 feet tall and is a farseer shaman and a renowned alchemist.

And illah's popo. >=D

Edit:

Hold up why is this in role play section?

So...you're complaining...because in roleplay...a non-intelligent character...attacked you...and lost.

Are you actually an Olog IRL?

Uruks are 7-9 feet, Ologs are 9-12 if memory serves me correctly

For the last time stop role playing things that are to big. Your Orc is the size of a bloody therapod Dinosaur.

You see how the dinosaur is built? Arched over? Because anything that size to be able to move quickly and efficiently needs to be built up that way. Drawbacks include its shortened reach. If you want to be some sort of super sized monster you have to have drawbacks and not demand that we have to RP losing so you can feel special

Orcs have been 7-9 ft all the way from Aegis. I know this believe it or not. Let's take a look at an orc and see what it is made out of. Let's see..muscles..muscles..tusks..muscles..muscles. Like Arnold once said, cool off. The green skins have had this since forever. They ARE stronger than a human and in hand to hand combat they usually win (With RP and not PvP). Remember that LotC is it's own thing and comparing LotC's view on Orc vs other stuff doesn't apply. That's not to say you can think it is silly but it is something to accept. Orc is perfection in a way, strong, wise and spiritual. Shrek is love..

PVP > RP strength.

The idea that an orc should always win a fight in rp is not only wrong but power gaming. Sure you have size and strength but that doesn't mean that you're as fast as the other races. True orcs are willing to accept the idea that in an rp fight they have an equally good chance to lose a fight as to win it. Talk to any orc that was around in Aegis and you'll see that.

If you charge an uruk head on? Yes, you would probably lose, unless it's such a dumb/surprising tactic that the orc doesn't see it coming. Is it guaranteed? Hell no. It all depends how you go about the fight. If you're going to try and out-brawn what is essentially a hulking heap of muscles, you better be able to back it up somehow. Yet I've seen humans tear orcs to shreds, without catching a scratch. Just look at real-world examples; bull-fighting is considered a past-time in some places. There are records of people who have fought off grizzly bears with their BARE HANDS. Just because you aren't bigger doesn't mean you're deadlier.

Oh yes, tackling an orc is going to end badly if you're a human. However being faster than them and much less likely to lose your mind and lead yourself into injury mid combat makes humans a lot more likely to kill an orc than not. IT depends upon the human and the orc. When faced against your average warrior orc, you avoid or parry the blows from the larger, slower and taller creature and take out their legs. The bigger they are the harder they fall, as they say.

This is what I'm addressing mind, and how generally a lot of humans/elves/dwarves. Actually kill orcs. They force them to their knees- but the point I am making is. As someone playing a 9 foot tall, extremely tough creature it is your responsibility to make sure that you do not take injury lightly. Don't be one of the orcs with rhino hide that can barely be cut. Remember that your flesh, while tough is only tough enough to resist punches and wrestling from your fellow orcs and the blazing sun of the desert. You aren't immune to blades in any way shape or form. (This isn't a lecture to the OP, btw. This is just a general statement to anyone thinking of playing an orc or playing an orc)
