The New Villainy Blacklist

I'll agree with Usopp here. If you aren't a crappy villain, you shouldn't have anything to complain about! If you are complaining, I will safely say that you are worried that your immersive 'Minas or die' Roleplay is being threatend, and react accordingly. Good day to all!

This is a good addition, but I can already predict that this will cause decline in the amount of villainy until the first bad villain gets VB'd. That happening will set the course of the rest of the villainy, since it'll be a set example of bad villainy and crudely show what kind of quality of roleplay is required from the villains. Now let's guess whether the first thing will be minas or die, or if it'll be some powergaming scrub. Also, I'm sure it'll be a great honor to be the first in the VB, rest of the server will be like..

I think that's a viewpoint that a lot of the server has, which probably isn't the greatest. You can be concerned about anything, even if it doesn't effect you. You can see the flaws in things, even if it doesn't effect you, right?

:ohplz:

You mistake my post as serious.

I don't give a damn what other people think, unless it can help the situation at hand.

That aside, I see no negative repercussions from having a VB implemented.

I've been waiting on this forever. Glad to see it's finally here. We'll see how it works on the server, and It'll either be good or bad depending on how the staff handles it. I'm expecting something good, at least.

You won't be able to look at another player without them calling blacklist.

...Only if you're actually on the blacklist. If you're not? There's nothing they can do to stop you.

I've no doubt it's going to be a single, easy to check document. It won't be hard to prove you're not.

The idea is great! But could you lay out what a villian should or should not do?

Could you make firm villain rules, so we know exactly what and what not to do?

"Role-Play Quality" is and always will be subjective, which means these "bad eggs" could easily fall to the mercy of players who never liked them in the first place and will almost inevitably complain that they're "bad villains", regardless of what they do.

I suppose this is a moot point if the blacklists only apply to breaking server rules, but eh... Better to have villain rules back anyway.

+1 to this. I think there should be guidelines about what will actually get you blacklisted, and what sort of RP is considered suitable for villainous activities. Other than that, I really like this idea, and I hope it works well.

Going to have to disagree. If you've followed the feedback part of the forums and that other thread by Katherine1, you would see this didn't "come from nowhere", there's been complaints for months about the rise of "minas or die" or "tribute ur flatz" banditry.

That being said, as long as your villain RP is fine and you aren't a shitty "Minas or Die" bandit, this shouldn't really have much impact on you.

You saying uruks suck at banditry? There is Rp reasoning behind every time we collect tribute for the spirits.

Just shut the **** up.

Holy f*cking shyte you lot can philosophize, banter, and sh*t on each others' laps quicker than dogs with the runs.

First off, quit sitting here philosophizing as if you are Immanuel Kant about 'roleplay quality!' when half of you fail to understand that the only method in improving roleplay is becoming better at writing and fleshing out fiction. I might just do an Amazon competition where one lucky cat gets a book from Penguin Classics, be it Brothers Karamazov or 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. Stop complaining about blacklists and food plugins that 'f-f-focus on RPG or PvP elements!' and learn to write integrating and immersive stories.

Second off, thank you Rittsy for taking the player feedback. Lord of the Craft has always had an experimental streak within itself. This is on a test run as Rittsy hisself bloody well said and hopefully it proves fruitful! I do agree that raid leader VAs should be introduced as it puts a heavy burden on a specific player for responsibility for his crew, but this is a start and a good one at that.

Third off, translating 'minas or die' into 'orcish blah' is pretty petty of a lowblow. I mean, if you want to trade lowblows, are you willing to actually stomach the Roger Ebert-like critique that any one of us can throw at you and your folks? Stop lobbing and start understanding each other. The blacklist will make short order of folks that are truly abusive, so sit back and let the moderators moderate.

Just think what the person on the other side of your roleplay feels, and give them something that's enjoyable.  A surefire way to keep yourself off of this list.
