The Pentagon, Washington D.C - The USAC
“Commander Davis, we’ve detected an incredible burst of energy from nearly a dozen locations worldwide. This is unprecedented…” Suddenly alarms within the Pentagon blared, and a sign indicated a tick toward DEFCON 2. Commander Davis appeared behind the young operator who had indicated the blast.

“What the hell is this Lieutenant?” The Commander stood anxiously, making a motion of his finger to spin up the American Nuclear arsenal.

“We’re not sure, hold on.” The Lieutenant quickly types in a few commands, and a drone feed shows an area not far from the blast sites. “Holy ****…” Through the thick blasts of light and smoke, one can clearly make out the shadow of six sleek rockets. “I don’t think those are missiles sir…”

Commander Davis taps the screen furiously, zooming in on one of the rockets. He grunts as he recognizes the insignia beside one of the rockets, one that had been shrouded in mystery. Reclaimer Corp. “What the hell are these bastards doing..”

The scene in the Pentagon would be similar to those in National Security establishments worldwide. First they would detect the energy emission, then the rockets penetrating the atmosphere. Then, just as quickly as they had appeared, they were gone.

Rocket IV - Approaching the Asteroid Belt

“It worked, it really ******* worked.” Hadrian, heir to the Reclaimer Empire, looked out of the window, watching Mars zoom out of view, tiny electrical lights from the nation’s space nations could be seen before they were quickly lost in the void. “We’re moving just under the speed of light, this is incredible. Unprecedented.”

Nearly all of the Reclaimer’s terrestrial employees were shipped off of the planet, zooming toward the planet Ceres. It would be there that they would operate from then on. Earth had become much too dangerous.

What remained of the Reclaimer presence on Earth was the secret base in Transylvania, which to this point was undiscovered, and their automated armies.

South Africa
Botswana, though reluctant, understands the advantages to unification and ultimately accepts the South African offer. However after a polling of the Namibian people, Namibia refuses to join with the South Africans.

Argentina

South American Federation

 

The part of the Federation that was once Chile has seemed to have taken a major boost in trying to improve their industry while Argentina seems to have evened it out but seems to focus a bit more on its Agricultural side. Meanwhile the government looks to the Slavic Confederation's dire situation and soon two large cargo ships are sent holding the basic supplies that were sent to the British Imperium and the Germany Empire along with some doctors and a few engineers, all would wear the radiation suit and would almost never remove it. The entire nation seems to be very busy with trying to push out relief aid to the European nations but also have a surplus of supplies for themselves. As a side project the Government has looked to the South Africa government and are impressed by their cities and idea's and quickly try to make Chile a little more 'green' as the government plants multiple small forests in the area's of the country that don't have anything built on top of them as well as having roof gardens becoming legal and some citizen's gladly try this.

 

Research

 

With the Biospheres and the Nano Technology research continuing under way the scientists continue to happily gather more and more animals from around the world, Nations would probably notice as this as well. The Animals that are brought into the large lab facilities in Argentina and Chile continue to treat the animals with up most care while getting DNA and test results from their behavior and reactions to certain things.

THE ICC

As the eco friendly mandates begin to take place across the land of the confederation, it is expected that pollution rates will drop greatly, and approval ratings are expected to swell for the government as it settles in. The people of Thailand are assured they will maintain a completely equal standing among the other former nations of the federation, now split into 'States'. Each state will maintain two delegates elected by the people, who will work in the form of a constitutional monarchy. A vote will occur every ((10 pages)) and any citizens born in the ICC's boundaries above the age of 21 can run for the office of President.

 

Under the new robotic workforce, where not only are accidents few and far between, but when they do occur they are of little consequence; The economy is thriving and the people are now nearly all in jobs such as education, the sciences and research, going through the education system, or simply working for the government or military. It is expected that the nations education levels are rising to all time highs. ((Pok please))

Due to the economy's growth, the ICC begins sending even more materials to the European continent, distributing it throughout all the nations as equally as possible. A route is created oversea specifically for the purpose of aid, and a line of ships from the ICC and many other nations travels round the world over to Europe, massive amounts of supply's flowing in every single day. All nations effected are offered a helping hand, in any form they require and are told they simply must ask if they need anything. 

 

Work on the military drones progresses as expected and is planned to become finish and operational in a few years, at which time prototypes for all sectors of the military will be completed. They will then await testing and refinement, then mass production before any real forms of deployment. It is expected that though these will be revolutionary forms of warfare, removing human death and involvement beyond the basis of control as the A.I. systems will be very advanced and capable of dealing with most situations on their own. However, these robots will not be perfect. The ICC is prepared to deal with quirks, bugs, errors, and possible collateral damage. They are not an exact science yet, but one they plan to develop into a near perfect machine in the future. Prototypes will be finished in ((6 Pages))

 

Utilizing the technology provided by the Japanese alliance, the Indochinese prepare their own fledgling space program. As the workforce is diverted into technological and research fields, it is expected this will not take as long, especially with the aid of already existing Japanese technology. Plans are to establish a mars colony, hopefully near enough the poles to access frozen water and near enough the equator to avoid ice cold temperatures. The construction is expected to take a very long time, as the ship being created is one of very large size and will be designed to carry 1 million people, as well as a massive amount of food and resources for constructing a true mars colony.  At the same time, the people are commissioned to begin research on terraforming technology capable of converting an atmosphere into something breathable, non-toxic, and hopefully less volatile. The Australasian Federation

 

The Withdrawal from Canada

 

The Offense Force in Canada is finally withdrawn following the news from Europe, they are to head back to the Federation once more so that they may return to the warm embrace of their respective homelands.

 

Alaska

The Territory of Alaska is fully annexed by the Australasian Federation, with a new administration set up and it officially being designated the Special Zone of Alaska. The Occupying force of 50,000 Soldiers remain and the Alaskan citizenry begin to collaborate with the Federation, the respective police forces of the towns and citizens are incorporated in the Federal Police of the Federation and their payrolls switch so they continue to be paid. The mining and oil companies in Alaska are taken over by Australian firms.

 

Sydney Station

 

The Construction of Sydney Station is complete, with the Australasian Federation having a very large space station in orbit above planet Earth it will be able to launch its space bound missions a lot more easily than before. It also grants opportunity for larger space faring vessels to be created more easily with the Space Station so close by.

 

 

In the Federation

 

The Federation decides they must send aid to Europe, 100 Cargo Ships are filled with food aid to send to Europe in their time of need, mainly focusing on supplying the nations of Britannia and Germany.

The Trains inside of Australia now run on an advanced solar panel system which makes trains one of the most used transport system in all of Australia cleaner in their energy use. The Government decides to use much of the vast open space in Australia to set up advanced solar panels to allow smaller settlements to trial run using Solar Power.

 

Titan base

 

The base is now fully manned and sustainable thanks to the efforts made to build the colony, it is marked with an Australian Flag with the territory being dubbed "New New South Wales" named after the State in Australia. The Mining operations commence with shuttles going to and from the Colony, sometimes the Shuttles are fully run and operated by VI systems on autopilot to save in the costs of manning them.

The USAC

The United States of America & Canada

 

Francis had established a bond of trust with many government officials within the USAC, for the first time in decades had a president talked in such honesty and understanding. Underwood knew that many in the west were that close to full independence, a sentiment that would not sublime overnight. The role that the USAC took in Europe was one that was supported by most American people. Underwood made something from nothing, that was a comparison to begin with.

 

The desperate times that the Americans had experienced brought them together, racial and social tensions were less. Although poverty was still prominent in the southern regions of the USAC, the nation was ' under wood' as one.  It was comfortable sight for many to see the press conferences, consumerist commercials and arrogant diplomacy by the government.  The world was too different to return to the old ways, it had to be changed accordingly.

 

 

The rise of American militarism was an uncomfortable sight for many former Union States citizens currently in the CSA. Although the USAC was almost the only properly democratic nation, many saw Underwood as a threat to global peace. He united the American nation loosely, but quickly. When announcing the official re-establishment of the USAC army, his famous yet troubling words would echo through the free western media for weeks:

 

"If you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat."

Francis had two sides to him however, his warm embrace towards former American Rebels in the T.R.A.C alliance was remarkable.  USAC delegates would welcome proposals with open arms, friendly negotiations and big promises were the key aspects to the friendly climate between T.R.A.C and USAC.

 

 

The Secretary of Defense and various generals meet in the Pentagon to analyse the situation at hand. Commander Davis took charge of the talks rather quickly as he identified the rockets. The European continent was sincerely unstable, the Pentagon labeled the UEDI and her respective militaries as 'unreliable'. People turned scared about the rockets, Ashton Davis Carter was tasked to assure the people the Pentagon had it under control.

 

 

"As the acting Secretary of Defense I wish to assure the American citizen that the Pentagon has the correct tools to defend itself from potential interstellar offensives or ICBM's. We will be analyzing the purpose of these rockets and the role of the UEDI in these unauthorized launches of missiles towards the orbit. Our intelligence indicates that these are cargo missiles, but the USAC will remain on DEFCON 2 until further notice. Thank you."

 

Meanwhile, the State Department is put under pressure by UEDI journalists after their last statement regarding a free future for Europe. Press secretary Jeff Rathkhe was put under fire for dodging an question of necessity, but the Underwood administration wasn't so worried about doubts in their agenda as of yet.

 

 

"The USAC is not interested in undermining the stability of her UEDI counterparts, nor was it ever the intention of any American administration to undermine the stability of Europe. The State Department is supportive of the UEDI role on the European continent and we never altered our stance on that role."

 

 

"Yet the State Department said that it thought a democracy was a better alternative to the outdated Emperative governments of the UEDI and didn't have any executive orders as of yet, indicating that executive orders regarding the democratic situation in Europe are to come? Doesn't this alter your stance?'

President Underwood was outraged that the Australian Occupying forces would annex Alaska after Russia willingly ceded it to its original owner, the USAC. He was not amused but not much could be done, for now.  It was bad for Underwood's image of a leader that nobody could walk over, such image had to be maintained.

 

 

Underwood requested Australian delegates to return Alaska to the USAC, as it would harm relations between the two allied forces.

Meanwhile, access to the UEDI is requested by the State Department for Francis to talk to Independence opposition leaders about the true situation in Europe.

The Japanese Space Empire Olympic Delegation

 

The athletes had trained for years for this day. Their country had put in millions of dollars in scholarships, facilities, and regimens to prepare them. The Japanese Space Empire flag was on their track jackets' left arms as they boarded the jet to Olympia. With massive amounts of training and funding going into Taekwondo, Fencing, and Archery for the past 2 and a half years, Japan expects to go home with medals in all three, and hopefully those medals would be gold. There were high hopes for this Olympics season, and as the athletes boarded the plane, Kyoto makes a large bid to host the next Olympics.

 

That wasn't to say the other players were bad. They had fairly good delegations in water sports, and a large pool to select them from. It just means that the JSE put most of its effort into the three fighting sports.

Aid from South Africa is accepted in the form of massive amounts of food, shipped over to the struggling regions to prevent mass starvation. This heralds the beginning of new Graeco-Afrikan relations as in exchange for the aid, an exchange of technology is promoted between the two countries. With two of Greece's three projects destined to finish in a number of months, the deal should be secure and help the Hellenes recover.

 

All troops stationed in Italy are now recalled and used to deal with this crisis, while a perhaps graver threat emerges politicly. The current Hellenic state was founded on the back of a military coup, and while elections were held, the 'Hellene National Popular Front', a coalition of the 'Golden Dawn', 'Hellenic People' and 'Worker's National Socialist Party', a group of far-right militant parties that held roughly 97% of the Hellenic seats. A coalition of minor parties, they all advocate one main goal: greater representation for the other territories that constitute the Republic and an equal stance for them in the government. They also hold a far-right, militant approach, and many expect them to join the HNPF coalition in exchange for increased spending in territories.

 

Libertarian Democrats:

A mid-left party that supports capitalistic values, they are one of the main 'new parties' and particularly popular in southern areas of Achaea, their primary policies advocate an increase in foreign aid while downsizing military.

 

Hellenic People's Party:

They fly the red flag of communism, and proudly. Advocating an extreme-left governance, they are ultimately less popular on an election stage but have a large following of young firebrands that disapprove of current government decisions and oppose the HNPF, consistently fighting against their moves and attempting to block them.

 

This large spark of new parties caused an election to be run forth through parliament, the HNPF hoping to put them down. Following the results the map of elected municipalities appears as such:

 

By striking a coalition with the TR, the HNPF managed to retain a healthy majority of 84% of seats, however in Greece itself matters are far from secure. A clear division between north and south is seen; with the highly favoured and more industrial areas of the north falling under the HNPF and the souther proving to be more communist, surprisingly little falls for the Libertarian Democrats.

South Africa

 

 

The people of South Africa rejoice, celebrations being held often, despite the turbulence of the world. Most are feeling particularly righteous about the massive amounts of aid sent to Britain, Iberia, Germany and Greece in particular. The people are festive, with these celebrations rubbing off on the 2 new provinces that made up the old country of Botswana, despite limited to no assistance in these efforts.

 

Infrastructure in the new territories of South Africa are being reworked, and her cityscapes made more beautiful and green. Military bases are set up across the land, as well as numerous bunkers and factories to better ready it in case of invasion. It's very limited military forces are merged into the larger SAA, and are used as the garrisons of major cities, whilst the larger South African forces take up the more remote installations to help the less welcoming Botswanese not feel intruded upon.

 

Brightwood Defense Corporation is welcomed into the country, and offices are prepared for it in the very large (and safe) city of Gabarone, with barracks being built in the countryside to house their men. More accommodations are offered, but will only be given if accepted, including research facilities.

 

Gabarone and Francistown in Botswana are revolutionized: Giant skyscrapers are in the works, and find themselves with a blank check for events and building plans. It is hoped that this wows Namibia, and would change the countries mind for when it's re-approached considering its joining. The borders of Botswana are also kept open; the law on immigration to the two provinces being turned into provincial laws, so that the more Xenophobic South Africa proper does not have to deal with the Zimbawean immigrants. This is hoped to see Botswana's measly 3 million population explode, as the borders are largely left open to anyone that can prove intense poverty (A rampant problem in Zimbabwe). These migrating citizens will also be used as leverage in a future approach to join the country as well. Homes and work are offered to these immigrants as well. (Mod explain how this goes perhaps?)

 

Greece's offering of technology for the aid that was received is met in return with several engine designs that run on bio fuel and electricity, as well as many energy efficient alternatives in building designs (that are conscious of hazards, such as earthquakes and terror attacks) from some of South Africa's finest architects and engineers. A cheep way of producing solar panels is also offered, as well as a proposal to team up on the grand colonial ship research.

 

In regards to Japan, they accept the offer to join in together in a research program, suggesting radiation clean up and protection, in light of the disaster in Europe, and also in regards to the radiation issues of space. They also announce the are happy to work with any other nations that Japan approves of with the project, and begin to trade off some of its many products.

 

Huge navy yards are being built on ever coastal city now, as the city begins to ramp up production of naval vessels. Using Greek designs, tanks and planes are also finding themselves produced - something South Africa has largely lacked. No effort is made to recruit more men, but service is still open to recruitment for now. Even the most remote military stations are being better outfitted for defense, as the nation wishes not to expand military, but rather solidify.

 

As always, offers are left open to whomever to begin trade. In light of the South American Federations attempt to go green, an offer is extended to have engineers go oversee's and begin the construction of solar panels across the nation, as well as wind farms in the far south - in exchange for large amounts of timber. These engineers would also be willing to teach South American men and women the how to make the cutting edge, highly productive solar panels (and possibly other green energy producers, such as advanced tidal turbines) for a prolonged, steady supply of timber.

The European Continent was plunged into a nuclear winter, but many people were naive to think that it would be like Chernobyl. As hunger and depression reached the many people, it was believed that the worst was over. The television wasn't as promising however:

 

 

"--In Ukraine the remaining Russian population tries to tame the radioactive fires around Chernobyl that were ignited by the Russian army during the Fourth world war. It is expected that the radioactive clouds will permanently alter the ecological state of both human and animal."

 

 

"--Although Einstein was proven wrong after the ending of the third world war, radioactive weaponry is now proven to be the most destructive form of warfare up to date.  We have yet to see the true consequences of the fourth world war, but rumor has it that the superpowers of the new world are stockpiling their nuclear weaponry /again/."

 

That the world would be shocked on a normal Monday was a surprise to all. Just as 40% of the globe tuned in on one of the last remaining free news stations , the relocated Russia Today, a live broadcast about the USAC testing its drones in the radioactive wasteland of former Russia exposed a bit too much.

 

 

"--USAC officials claim that they found a way to make these drones able to operate even under the heaviest circumstances. RT received the privilege to fly with the big boys over the Russian east to witness the living proof that they finally have drones that can resist radiation."

 

As the broadcast went on with thermal images of the former Russian city of Yakutsk, the transmission was interrupted by an odd transmission. First it couldn't be heard properly until clear periods came in the middle of it, the drones were on to something. Then the transmission intercepted the civil broadcast from Washington with a rather dark message and a motionless picture:

 

"[sTATIC] Hello? Anybody here? This is Metro Station[....] Metro to Station, Metro to station? Barricades are not hol[incomprehensible] We request immediate back-[sTATIC] Hello? Metro to Station? Metro t[.....] beasts everyw-[.....] We need help do you c[sTATIC] Metro to Station do yo[incomprehensible] Anyone there? Metro to Station please do copy if you hear us. The heat is immen[.....] We can't get out from the Metr[.....] lease anyone? [sTATIC] We can't hold out much long- [CUT OFF]"

 

Lagging images from the drones appear on live air as the transmission overloads the RT broadcasting towers, unable to fully shut down the transmission. Although the sound was muted, the images told the story.

 

 

The world became witness to the reality of the Russian wasteland. The USAC was baffled at the sight. Their intelligence over former KGB experiments with radiation was up-to-date. They knew what they were, but the public wasn't ready yet to have the same knowledge. There were many of these sightings with more secretive USAC drones in the west, their migration towards Europe and German-occupied Russia was sincerely troubling. The government released a statement:

 

 

"The State Department understands the concerns and wishes to assure the people that the USAC government is unable to properly identify the images as real or fake. Until a concrete conclusion can be drawn, we can safely assume that these images are merely a prank done by Russian separatists in the east or simply a glitch in the thermal sensors of our drones."

The Underwood Administration swallowed at the sight of the situation in Europe. They had to establish their influence there before the continent succumbed to its oppressors like Russia. The Kaiser gave Francis the permission to speak to nationalistic opposition leaders in Holland and Belgium. Perhaps generous in the eyes of the Kaiser, but foolish in the eyes of Underwood.

 

 

The mayor of Amsterdam and independence leader, Gerrit Yousef Zuiderveld, was an easy target for Francis. His grandparents came to Holland as laboring immigrants and his parents raised him to be a Dutch monarchist to at least have an equal chance of being treated like an equal. As Underwood and Zuiderveld stood man to man in the agricultural outskirts of Diemen, the conversation turned rather productive. On his typical manipulative tone he spoke:

 

"So tell me something, Ger. Isn't it a shameful thing that centuries of pride has gone to waste to German occupation? Back in the day you were known as the best traders, the true and steadfast people in that small spot on the map and look at what you are now."

 

"Don't get me started sir, the Netherlands isn't what it used to be. We had plans but without the help of our king, it was all for no-"

 

"Then let me help you." Francis would interrupt as he walks towards Gerrit "I know your king supports independence and so does the greatest country in the world. From this moment on you are a rock. You absorb nothing, you saying nothing, and nothing breaks you. Understand?"

As the Dutch King, Willem Alexander II announced in Amsterdam that he would travel to Paris to answer the call of his people; to achieve unconditional liberty. The mayor did what Francis asked him. On the many speakers and screens, the local government played "The King's Song" to the hopeful people of Amsterdam and area.

The Local Council then announces to the people that they should go on the streets and march in support for an independent Holland. Most police officers refused to stand with their colleagues due to their last remnant of nation pride. The police stood threatening, but did not act out of violence. But facts were not in the interests of Underwood, the spirit of democracy was.

A depressing cloud looms over Europe. While here in America we have all of our fundamental human rights preserved and true freedom, the free spirit of Europe is broken by the iron gauntlet of despair. Merely a sea apart live people that no longer have a voice, that are caught behind a political façade of perfection and democracy. When I spoke to the mayor of Amsterdam, a city mind you, that once was a bastion of freedom and tolerance amidst a conservative monarchy. He told me that his country , like many others in Europe today, no longer represents the people that its borders were meant to unite.

 

In America I'd like to say that we must cherish our liberties and peace. Although our Californian and southern states are no longer with us, together we have proven to be capable of being a bastion of democracy and freedom.

 

I am sure that many countries in Europe currently starving due to the terrible fourth wold war would want the same chance given to my Administration. Countries like Austria, Holland, those that once were an epic-center of innovative society deserve the ability to dictate their future as much Germany dictates its own. Police brutality, starvation and yet proclaiming itself a righteous and prosperous empire is not precedent one must set for the other European minor states. If the American people are wrong by this judgement, I am sure that the European people would prove otherwise by voting to stay with their German brothers in a transparent referendum.

 

To all those that wish to join our democratic cause and revive the free spirit of Europe, hopefully hand in hand with the German Kaiserdom, I extend the warm hand of democracy. I will not follow previous American administrations with their trend of forcing freedom through force, as that is not freedom, I simply hope that the European continent is ready to return to the path of liberty.

The US navy gains new graduates as two new aircraft carriers are planned to be constructed. With the aid of British and {Formerly} Russian scientists, the technological cliff between NCR, CSA and the USAC was reduced slightly. The X3K, one of the best warships, is improved with LION lasers and the Russian radar system. Meanwhile, the construction of 2 new aircraft carriers is announced.

 

The current military was 1,1 million troops with 200,000 British reserves. The army became, with the police and federal government, more organized as time went on. The anarchic past of the Union States were still in the back of the heads of many Americans, but improvement was accomplished.

 

 

With aid from the British and former Space assets, the USAC starts to work on a Satellite interceptor and a space missile shield. This was meant to bring a more control for the American's.  It would be an unmanned vessel with the ability to launch missiles and properly steer in orbit, it would be kept secret under the name "Star Wars".

The Tang Dynasty

China

 

A group of athletes travel to Greece to compete in the Olympics. They had been training hard - far more grueling than the last bunch. The London Olympics had hardly been screened in China, the utter failure of the Olympic team being embarrassing. This time, it was hoped to be different. Emperor Tang didn't travel to these games, and sends his apologies for the absence to the Greek leader. The Emperor thought it would be best to stay out of a continent that was mostly radioactive for now. He does however, order the mass shipment of supplies to the British, German, Greek and Italian nations. A total of 50 cargo ships make trips back and forth, with humanitarian workers and doctors on board. Emperor Tang formally announces that China will do anything to help with the radioactive plague that has beset Europe, thanks to the war criminal Medvedev. Hopefully, this act would improve relations.

 

A bid is also put in to host the next Olympics.

The shooting of the Empress of Japan was a tragic loss to China. Much of the population respected her as much as their own leader, who they now looked to, seeing if he'd step down and unite the two Asian powers, or continue ruling until the end of his days. A week later, he announced his decision. Standing in front of the Imperial Palace, he stood, talking to literally billions of his people on live television...

 

"Japan, and ourselves, have felt a great loss. The loss of a strong leader. A fair leader. A brilliant leader - the Empress of Japan. Many of us mourn for her, I find myself doing the same. But in these sad, sad times, we can also find much happiness, much hope."

 

He pauses, the entire world seeming to have stopped. Not a word was said in the entire country, not a sound made. Even the wind, the waves, the deep hum of electricity running through Shanghai seemed to have ceased. Bliss silence, waiting anxiously for news of China's future.

 

"For with the Empress' death, I formally step down as Emperor, and leave the country and it's holdings to my son - Crown Prince Jin Jun, and his wife, now the ruler of the Japanese. It is with this, I announce the birth of the greatest Empire ever known, in Asia, and indeed the world. The Far East Empire. ((name still under discussion))."

 

Suddenly, the silence is broken as Jin Jun and the Japanese Empress stride out, arm in arm. The entire city roars in cheer, like that of a dragon itself.

 

Across the country, riot police and anti-terror divisions of the military stand ready to shut down any resistance or disapproval to the new merging. It was unlikely that any would occur however, as relations had been held high between the two nations for decades. In the average Chinese man's eyes, both Japan and China are equals. The Chinese navy merges with the Japanese, and is put under duel control of the Japanese admiral's and the Chinese. A new flag is hoisted above the old imperial one, consisting of the Japanese red sun and the Chinese golden dragon. ((may be subject to change.))

 

 

 

The orbital fighter bombers are revealed, and go into increased production. Ten launch up to the Chinese Space Station (which is now fully completed), and dock there. Eventually, the massive station will be the launching point for all operations of this fighter - the first one made that can effectively dog fight in zero gravity for long periods of time. The plans for the plane are sent to the Eastern Bloc, except the Indochinese.

 

 

Project Epsilon

 

Nanotechnology. China was finally in a place to reap the benefits of this oh-so-complicated tech. Almost anything could be achieved, now that the countries top scientists had acutely researched it. The first thing on the agenda, was a so called Nanosuit - a suit that enhances the wearer's agility, strength and combat ability, whilst intelligently reacting to impacts to minimalizing damage. It is with this, that the E-MK1 armour is announced only to Eastern Bloc military officials - again, excluding the ICC.

 

 

This armor has a nanosuit under layer, flexible and light normally, but extremely hard when faced with an impact - for example a bullet. The nanosuit can also deploy nanomites into the bloodstream of the wearer to greatly improve strength, agility and speed. On top, a light exoskeleton with artificial muscles helps the wearer jump higher and sprint faster than an average human, making them deadly in hand to hand or close quarters combat. Active camouflage is being researched as an addition to this suit, which already is finding its way to elite Chinese forces - numbering only 1,000 men so far.

 

Project Mantis

 

Use of Mechanized tanks was growing out of control in modern combat. With the Australian's EMU and REX mechs beating the Caliphate back in Spain, China immediately began looking for ways to nullify these metal beasts. Footage from the Caliphate had already shown that they were Starlite-coated, which ruled out most uses of lasers, which left the Chinese with the option of conventional weaponry. Tank shells seemed to bounce off the walkers, and bombs and bullets simply dented the Mech's armor. The best, and apparently only way to beat the Australian Mechs seemed to be missiles and railguns. It is with this, that the Mantis Automated Weapons Systems (MAWS) began construction. There were two versions - the missile platforms and the railgun platform. Both would be airdropped into a battlefield from thousands of feet in the air, and land ready to take on the enemy. Their only purpose would be anti-mech and anti-armor combat. These are shared with the Eastern Bloc, bar the ICC.

A rocket is launched to Mars from the Japanese moon base, to secure a second Far East colony on the planet. It would land on Elysium Mons, and immediately set up a base of operations using the construction drones. Communications would quickly be set up with the Japanese base, as the Mars base gets set up and running. ((2 pages)) A total of 12 Chinese scientists, 8 engineers and 12 Chinese special forces (wearing E-MK1 armor) are on the expedition. The men stay in the lander and in habitable sections of the base until it is fully constructed, where they would then explore their surroundings and take readings.

 

 

Trade with South Africa and Argentina is accepted, though the ICC is seemingly ignored.
