North Korea sends 500,000 of its infantry forces towards Japan to aid HERA's efforts, North Korea also request aid from HERA'S forces. Air strikes are sent from North Korea to the city of Tokyo, the North Koreans engage Japan on the oceans in attempt to smash their navy in surprise.

THE IMPERIUM BRITANNIA

 

 

The United Kingdom deploys its off-grid nuclear arsenal, and nukes the capitals of all nations that attack it, in addition to Athens and the capital of America.

 

The Empress and parliament, however, are killed, and the Imperium's forces are in disarray as millions upon millions die in the catastrophe. What Commonwealth forces remain desperately attempt to access the space elevator to escape or make their way to transport ships in an attempt to make a run for Australia and Newfoundland. Australia is command of the remnants forces on Earth. Britannia's financial assets are transferred to the space colonies.

 

In Earth's orbit, Victoria Station sends off it's last batch of passengers, and deploys it's fighter reserves in an attempt to wreak havoc across all non-British possessions around Earth's orbit.

 

Finally, the British ARK in orbit around the planet is launched, setting out towards new horizons and leaving the solar system. Away from humanity and all of it's evil.

 

The Royal Space Fleet and the British Space Ministry rally together, forming the British Star Empire out of the colonial space possessions of the British Empire. The Starlit Crown is placed upon George Windsor's head in Atlantis.

 

But the United Kingdom was lost.

 

And as the sun rose above Hera's world, the sun had finally set on the British Empire. Night had fallen.

The Australasian Federation

 

Having had most of its forces out of the war for the most part save for Mechanized Knight Divisions and Lancelot Platoons that were caught up in the chaos in Europe. The Australasian Federation had spent these years preparing, building warship after warship, bringing its entire fleet to bare in Earths Orbit. The Australasian Coastline had been heavily fortified and Dome Cities were set up where they could, however the Military and much of the Elite and most of the Technology would be taken to Titan Colony which they had regained control over. The war was not the reason the Dome Cities were set up...

 

The planet was lost, no matter what defenses the Federation might be able to pull the Australasian Homeland would be destroyed. The Federation imitated operation Exodus something that was thought nigh impossible to reach. Artwork, animals, plants and anything they could get a hold of would be taken to Sydney station, with Sydney Station getting engines attached to it, it would start its long journey to Titan but this would be after, not before Operation Exterminatus would occur.

The Australasian Prime Minister and King watch the Earth from below, the King would speak to his Prime Minister "The Greeks thought they could play God and create one, after years of us preaching about the dangers of AI who thought the Greeks would be the ones to create it. How they ever managed to get out of their financial crisis earlier in the Century is beyond me. As some of the British Nobility told me the Sun had Set and Nightfall had begun we the few that remain must be the ones to be the final light of Dusk before Night falls on Earth. Generations will judge us, good or bad we'll be part of history for this, God save those we leave behind in Australasia..." he leans against the window of the observation platform, the Prime Minister speaks to the Intercom "Commence the Operation."

 

The Australasian Federal Fleet opened fire, using the advanced coil guns that can have a payload fired from orbit and hit the planet surface no issue, usually armed with normal payloads a theory would be tested, a theory that the Australian King and Arnold came up with many years ago, that a Rail Gun or a Coil Gun could deliver a Nuclear Warhead and its payload from Orbit to hit the planet. Armed with Nuclear Weapons the British Remnants gave to the Federation from the Trident Program and Nuclear Weapons Arnold had gifted them many years ago the ships would fire, hitting whatever they could to do as much damage with these nuclear weapons as possible.

The nuking of Addis Ababa was definitely one that was bound to come, but Dawit had not seen it coming so soon. He had been wise in evacuating to the country side, but millions of his people died, burned to a crisp at the might of Britain's nuke.

 

With the Gabriel fighters complete, the African air force begins training their pilots to fly them.

 

Mass production of the Gabriel fighters begins, almost every factory within the nation set to work.

Brightsword Defense Incorporated

 

As the world falls to chaos around the relatively untouched Carribean, Brightsword loads their Panther ordered from Orion many years ago with all human personnel bar a token few volunteers, and makes way for the asteroid belt. Many spacefaring-modified Normandys follow along bringing various supplies, amongst those console computers, supplies for maintaning farms, water purifiers, air filters, weapons, and such. A trail of beacons provided by Britain are left in the BDC Profiteer's wake.

 

Many drones are brought with the BDC Profiteer but the larger portion of combat drones are left in the connection dead-zone of Puerto Rico, depopulated after most of those living there are brought to the asteroid belt, where Brightsword plans to colonize a small portion and mine minerals within. Of course these minerals may not be worth too much with nobody to sell them to, but regardless, Brightsword would live on.

Hera

 

 

It was almost as an afterthought that Hera put her endgame into motion, all but sealing the fate of humanity on Earth. As her forces cross the English channel in a newly-built armada, the cultists who had supported her and delivered the island nation soon meet a grisly fate. The first thing to exit the ships is not the standard infantry of the AI's forces, but a massive swarm of terror drones, hundreds of thousands strong. Ripping over anything and everything in their path, they devour the remains of London, and spread across Britain, unresisted. No mercy is shown: for its help, Wales is rewarded with extermination. In Iberia, her forces surge ahead, slaughtering American troops and Iberian citizens alike, overrunning British fortifications and taking the straits of Gibraltar in a massive bloodbath.
 
As Argentinian orbital bombardment devastates the American Empire's homeland, she moves in there as well, executing her long awaited extermination operation on the American continent. American troops in the field find the machines that they had been fighting with are now their enemies, and are quickly decimated.
 
Hera's webs had been woven in Greece, and by now a majority of the population had been forced into military service and sent into Syria. Tens of millions of Greek civilians are sent to charge headlong into African-Caliphate lines, where many perish, but eventually overrun the defenders. Unbeknownst to them as they throw their lives away, their relatives that remain in the homeland are being quietly eliminated. By the time this army reaches the south end of Arabia, they are entirely worn out, having taken massive losses on the entire journey, and that is when they are joined by airships and machines, smashing the remains of the defense. The Caliphate, which had long been wary of other nations playing god, falls. South of the Sahara, cultists are ordered to strike, and with the African army exhausted, the very integrity of the African Union is threatened.
 
From Alaska, a massive army of machines 10 million strong crosses into Asia and sets about the inevitable: Hera's invasion of the Taiwanese empire. Tactics are similar to all other campaigns, but it is Hera's conclusion that there are simply too many Asians for usual extermination to be efficient. Several missiles are launched from America, containing a modified version of Moscow's Mercy: slightly less virile, so as to spread amongst the population and cut down the opposition that Hera will face.
 
But all this is merely a fraction of Hera's processing power, as she turns her focus to the immense threat of Valkyrie, which still remained unknown to the world. Only Hera could see the German monster for what it was: a botched attempt at an AI, a digital cancer, a self-destructive blight that would spread rapidly and implode all systems that it touched, before eventually collapsing upon itself. Hera would not allow herself to be taken down with it. She busily sets herself to cutting off network ties to all systems not directly onto her control, which in practice means mostly those in Germany and Asia. Her second priority would be to find and destroy Valkyrie's data centers, and so the second invasion of the Imperium Europa begins. Massive artillery strikes level cities along the border as Hera's forces seize control of Northern France and begin to cross into Germany proper.
 
It is just as this operation begins that the Australians begin their orbital attacks, and it becomes clear that human resistance will not be a problem for long. All of Hera's forces that are targeted are wiped out more or less instantly, but with horrible effects. Earthquakes and radiation spread across the entire planet, and in many places a full-scale ecological collapse seems inevitable.

When North Korea attacked Japan, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. The North Korean capital was decimated by the Taiwanese Empire's nuke, and the now-strongest non-AI controlled navy, with by far the most ships in the world, engaged one of the smallest navies in the world, North Korea's. Air forces sent from North Korea are engaged by, while not as technologically advanced as the other powers, the most numerous and still one of the most updated air forces in the world. The 3 million troops that had been sitting on either North Korean border instantly began to move in, with huge amounts of artillery and tanks destroying any resistance. Any North Koreans captured, or even seen, would be massacred.

 

The Taiwanese Empire's Asian mainland begins to degenerate, centralization being lost and the multitudes of people living near borders doing what could most be called "invading", as the tens of millions of trained people, along with the 13 million troops not actually engaged in a war, began to take land from neighboring states and declare small "kingdoms" in the areas they took. Hundreds of transport ships could be seen launching from Chiayi just as tens of massive layers of shields begin to rise from the ground and seem to engulf the city, even as the city itself almost appears to sink into the ground a few feet to those outside.

 

Hera's invasion is ignored by the High Command, as the only resistance is in pockets. Earth had been abandoned by the Asian elite.

 

Meanwhile, Vers High Command, Neo-Kyoto Moon Base.

 

The Emperor of Vers would be his new title, as the Terran Taiwanese Empire formally cut off communication with the elites that had gotten to the Moon. His retinue was made of the graduates of the Chiayi Special University, meaning they were all the most advanced soldiers and technicians that Asia had to offer. Each and every person on the Moon, Vers Mars, and Callisto, would have formerly been called the "Cream of the Crop", but now, they were ordinary. Automated robots with no connections worked massive fields of terraformed land on Mars, and the food and ice processed from the farms there were sent to supply the Moon and Callisto.

 

They would survive and thrive compared to the billions of citizens they had left behind on Earth.

With the decimation of the Imperium Brittainia, Wales soon followed for it was only a matter of time. The small segment of land was mainly decimated with the rest of Britain following the response nuke, those who weren't obliterated from the blast were soon wiped out by the fallout, Welsh had stayed true to Britain for the most of its lifetime, though split apart in the later years, only to be destroyed by Hera. She was ruthless, efficient, merciless. And Wales payed the price with everyone else.

Brightsword Interstellar Mining Concern

 

All planetary holdings of Brightsword had lost contact with the greater portion. All the drone technology left behind was assumed destroyed, and the small numbers of personnel were deemed killed in action, and given honors for their services to the corporation. The only effective piece of Brightsword was the R&D portion and the space portion. The board was still in effect and had been evacuated before mass nukings, but now, in it's former state, Brightsword is dead. As is the theme of this age, night has fallen on everything that could bring night to the world.

 

The company didn't fault itself for inaction. If it tried to act, it's forces would have been co-opted into some mechanical menace's army. Brightsword tried to find an alternative way, and build a relatively weak AI to coordinate the drones and protect them from hacking. The work could not be completed fast enough...

 

Brightsword Defense Incorporated

 

Contact from Interstellar was lost to the few remaining planetside. All that could be done was hide in the bunkers built by Brightsword for their AI, amongst unused server computers. Brightsword is rendered totally ineffective on Earth.
